I'm 50/50 on it right now, but Jake only seems to be the slight favourite with the bookies right now.

Speaking of Favorites, I tried to search if "official" odds are available right now. I understand that it's about 4 months to go before the fight so official odds might not come out yet at this time but at least, maybe we can find some unofficial odds, or also called preliminary odds, from some famous bookmakers.

According to this site, there's still no official odds yet as of their last update several hours ago.

The unofficial odds available out there are provided by one of the head oddsmakers of a popular sportsbook, the odds are:

Jake Paul: -360
Mike Tyson: +300

If ever that odds prediction will somehow close to the official odds, it might be worth putting some on Tyson.

However, for me, I'm not really sure if a serious fight will happen here.

There is also a risk that it will not be a serious fight, but rather a fight for entertainment.

Or it could be what we saw in the fight between Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belford... That the Brazilian fighter took the fight seriously even against the retired Holyfield and destroyed him in less than 2 minutes of the fight, but was heavily criticized for it, for take it seriously... Anyway, I'm rooting for Mike and for this fight to be a real fight.

Just all hopes that the fight won't be rigged. That the Mike Tyson who entered into that contract won't be acting like on a wrestling match scripted type. just truly rooting for real boxing match. Mike is fighter after all. I hope he won't be diving into entertainment type of sports where his aim to just earn more money. Because them, he's just like making fun of the sport that made him great early on his career. IN any case I would still bet under Mike's name.

I'm rooting for that too, although lately these contracts involve everything, including fun, some even state in the contract that the fight is to last a certain number of rounds, all for fun...

I would like to see an authentic boxing fight, a serious fight, with both fighters fighting honestly...

He hasn't looked like that in years. That's probably a very old picture.

From what I saw at the time, he lost weight and got in shape to return to the ring in 2020.

It was impossible to happen. I also think that the fight is just for entertainment.

The real and serious fight will only happen if it's a professional fight and a championship belt is at stake.

One of the biggest boxing councils should also recognize it, but none of them are sanctioning the fight. This event was just organized mainly for show. Both fighters are also fighting in a different weight division. How it can be professional if the weight class are gap?

I was just reading Tyson must first pass medical tests before the fight can be properly scheduled as possible to go ahead.  The first test is electroencephalogram EEG which is for the brain and ensuring a normal condition ahead of the fight and the second test is for the heart which sounds more familiar, called electrocardiogram or ECG.

Both tests gives results within a day apparently so I imagine they do it quite close to the fight considering the standing risk from Tyson's age.     Also the fight I thought would be purely exhibition could be a normal 'professional' boxing match apparently with wider implications for the result, I would assume thats the less likely of the two as they will make money either way.

Jake Paul is of course treating the fight as if its all a big joke, the punchline may be more literal then he realizes and he may wake up afterwards and need explaining what just happened.   I'd appreciate that finale and if he just shut up forever after that conclusion though I doubt we get such a happy ending.

When sports people retire, they do tend to gain some weight first. What happens later on is up to them, some let the weight get ahead and just keep on gaining more and more weight, some realize that they need to get back in shape and do better. I have seen too many sports people gain weight within 5 years of them retiring, doesn't mean it is a must because there are some who still keep their shape as well but it's common.

These people train from 15 years old or younger until they are 30-35 even sometimes to 40, so retiring means there is A LOT of training gone, and these people eat a lot to keep that muscle mass while training, so when training is gone but eating habits stay, they gain weight.

Mike has been retired for too long though, he did gained weight, but looks much better for the past few years at least. Doesn't mean he is healthy enough to fight, dude is old, he could still have some joint issues at the very least, but Jake is a youtubers brother, so I doubt the fight would be unfair, a 50 year old Mike Tyson is still at least as good as Jake, if not even wildly better, we will have to see.

Weight is not an issue for Mikey because if you look at his videos now, he almost look the same but he age and he cannot hide that. We don't have to take this fight seriously, because obviously we know that Mike is already old and he'll likely lose. Jake is not just an ordinary boxers, he already fought a lot of boxers and beat most of them,  per record he only have one loss but in a split decision against Fury, so overall he is great.

now, my concern is whether Tyson will survive the 12 rounds, it was reported that it's only a 2 minute rounds so it's short but since Jake Paul is a heavy hitter, I doubt Mike will last. Again, I believe it's not about the weight/body but the age.

I could not bet on anyone else but Tyson for this fight because of the sheer amount of training the man has done, the experience across an entire career multiple decades and trainers who were themselves some of the greatest.   His opponent has none of that just age and height advantage, all Tyson has to do win this is pull out his little finger and apply some of that immense knowledge and skill.  Its not about power imo, it'll be a skill.

If I lose the bet and I bet on Tyson then I'll take it but I cant miss a chance to bet on Tyson one last time and even worse carry the regret for betting for a youtube star instead, thats eternal shame tbh Cheesy

And Jake might not exist during the era of Mike Tyson as there's no exhibition fights that time. Mike was the king on his era and he is very unpredictable so he could put Jake to the hostipal if he'll challenge him even if it's just for exhibition but knowing the behavior of Mike back then, you can never be sure. It's a 57 year old legend vs 27 year old celebrity that will be fighting, 30 years gap of age, that's insane, I can't even imagine this fight would happen, but you know when there's huge money to be made, nothing is impossible.

Definately the age.  Boxing requires tons of stamina it's not just how hard you hit but how long you can continue to do so at a damaging rate.  Mike's ego will make him fly out of the gate swinging.  If Jake can weather the first flurry of punches he will be fine.  It's sad because if they were both the same age this fight wouldn't even have gone off because Mike would likely have killed jake.

Everything is possible and could really happen once we do talk about having some good amount of money on the line. When it comes to experience then no doubt or too obvious that Mike would be the upperhand and it is really just that too far when it comes to overall capability and experience. I do still trust up on Mike's power despite of his age. He had that good body shape even if he's old.
Power might be less due on being old but doesnt mean that he couldnt knock out Paul shit out of him.  Grin

Exhibition fights arent really something that be taken up seriously and they've done up these things just for entertainment purposes of course. Hope that we would really be able to see
some action and not really just that hugging and running kind of style or show we do have on here. Odds are already out but im not that having the confidence on taking up some bet
knowing that exhibitions could end up on a draw. lol

And that is the keyword in this fight, both are going to make millions, specially Mike Tyson. We don't know when is the last fight that he makes big money. Because all throughout his history of boxing, he made millions, but with the likes of Don King, who mismanaged Tyson's money as his manager and make him bankrupt. Now he has the time again even at this age to make at least $10 million in this fight (my speculation only). And so he is willing even at 58 years during the fight date. I read the rules or supposedly rules and the only way to end this fight is through knockout, so that will be vicious and we will see if Tyson still has the power, (I believed so as this is natural to him).

When Jake Paul is involved with any of the match that he's organizing, sure that both of the fighters together with his opponent will make a lot of money and that's a real thing. $10M could be that amount but the more that they're going to hype this match before it actually happens, more money is going to flow on them and I guess that there will be more bonuses that goes to him and just for agreeing on this match, there's already a guaranteed money on his bank.

I read the rules or supposedly rules and the only way to end this fight is through knockout, so that will be vicious and we will see if Tyson still has the power, (I believed so as this is natural to him).
I can't remember since when I've seen this kind of rules but I doubt it that this is going to be a natural one but I'd like to see how powerful still Tyson is. He might be that old but his experience and his body is still being trained continuously but with his speed, that's what Jake can see where he's got the advantage. But we still have the discussions about Mike being on his prime and he'd surely be easily knocking out Jake if they both live on the same era. Let's stop with that argument because it's not the kind of thing that we'd see in our lifetime.

I have the same intention. I don't really like betting for Youtube stars or those who are just doing it for entertainment so many times. I have seen Mike Tyson get angry with other boxers like Mayweather because they are not fighting like professional boxers, especially those who are playing technical boxing. We will be entertained, I have no doubt but I want to see if Mike will still use that brawling type of boxing which we cannot see anymore in most of the boxing fights in this era.
I am betting for Mike here once the lines open. It's not that I think he will win because I am expecting Jake Paul to exhaust him first by prolonging the battle and using his stamina to take advantage of the age of Mike. Still, I also don't like to miss the chance of betting for Mike because this could be my first and last. In his prime, I never had the chance to bet for him because I was still young in those days. Cheesy

Mike Tyson is the underdog if I'm not mistaken, and with that, like you some of us are sentimental and we wanted to see like the old version of Mike Tyson and knock this Youtuber. But I don't see it happening as this could be rigged from the very beginning as they are just looking for money here. Jake Paul is already well known for this kind of exhibition fights and make millions already. Time for Tyson to join again, as this is his second exhibition fight. I don't think that Jake will last against a prime Mike Tyson, but in this version, close to 60 years old, we really don't know what will happen to this fight. But as bettors, might be good to go to the underdog, regardless for a attractive and good profits to be made.

I have not read the rules but I don't believe such a rule exists. Although this is an unfair match, this is still under the regulations of concerned agencies. And I don't think an agreement that says the only way for this match to end is through a knockout would be approved.

In the end this is more of an exhibition match than a real fight. Of course this is Jake Paul, he doesn't really fight. He just boxes against anybody he thinks he has an advantage. If possible, he wants the opponent to be interesting enough to make money. Tyson will probably just play along and earn.

I'm not sure if you have read @hilariousetc posted regarding the rules.

But as stated, it could be a hybrid between pro rule and exhibitions matches that's why you will not find it any any boxing rules as it is not exist and maybe they just made it up for this fight because they also take into consideration Tyson age that's why they said it's 2 minutes.

Not final yet and not official, so we will have to see what will be the rules.

Perhaps if there is such a leak they maybe it might be as close as what the rules might be in this fight. And it makes the fight very interesting as we have said.

The fight is a joke in the beginning so it's not surprising anymore when it comes to how funny the rules are.
It's just like Royce vs Mike which means this is exactly an exhibition fight. 2 minute round will only result in a decision which is absurd because it also says the only way to win the fight is by way of KO. But good luck with that because they are wearing sparring gloves.

But this is on Netflix, nothing is lost when you already have an account.

This is indeed a funny match so we shouldn't be surprised if the terms and conditions are also as funny.

You mean Roy right? I mean Roy Jones and Mike Tyson had their exhibition match as well. But there was also a match that almost happened between Royce Gracie and Mike Tyson.

There's no way this is going to be a pro fight. This would only be an exhibition match. This match is a testimony that Jake Paul is not serious in turning pro. He's actually jumping from exhibition to pro to exhibition matches depending on which gives him more popularity and more money. He's never been a serious boxer.

This is the latest interview of Mike Tyson regarding his fight,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3xInUaRVhY

And he said that this is a real fight, he said that he is scared to death fighting, but he puts it like something that he uses this as motivation, his fear. Yeah, we might find it weird, but there are individuals who thrive in this kind of fear environment.

He just beat Ryan Bourland recently who looks like not willing to fight and Jake is up again for another.
They should call this a fight but an exhibition but believe it or not is happening. You think Mike is done after Roy Jones but Jake wants to pull him again for he just needs recognition from the boxing community.

I would be surprised if Mike beats Jake. He is 60.  Would you bet if its on Stake?

Jake Paul is set to fight former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a boxing match that will be livestreamed on Netflix.

The bout is scheduled to take place on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas and will be available to all Netflix subscribers. Additional information, including the co-main event and undercards, will be announced at a later date. It is being produced in a partnership between Netflix and Paul’s and Nakisa Bidarian’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).

This will not be the first time Paul and Tyson have appeared on a boxing card together. Paul fought in the co-main event of the pay-per-view that saw Tyson fight an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, which was Tyson’s first boxing match since 2006. Paul defeated former NBA player Nate Robinson via knockout in the second round in what was Paul’s second professional boxing match.

            -   Fight between the old and the young; fight between the more experienced and the less experienced; fast action against slow action; and most of all, the weight of the fist and the stamina of the body will fight.

Mike Tyson may be old, and his actions may be a bit slow, but the weight of his fist is sure when he hits any part of his opponent, and he will still tremble with fear. The young boxer will experience the difference between today's boxer and the former world boxing champion in the ring.

When it comes to power then no doubt that Mike would really be having it even if he's old then we do really know  that this man is a hard puncher and that something a trait that cant be changed.
Although age would really be taking up some toll but doesnt mean that it wouldnt be significant when he already aged. This one would really be looking interesting and i do want to see Mike
giving out some nasty lesson to Jake. Legendary boxer vs a clown i should say. hahaha

It would be better that Jake shouldnt really be taking this lightly or some sort of joke. I cant imagine on how he would really be able to handle those power punches
despite of being old. We do know its popularity and on where he's that famous of. Being old is just a number but those traits isnt something that
do fade up completely.
