I am beginning to wonder if NFF really wish the national team well because funds have been released for this exercise which should not call for any delay as to payment as Nigeria is capable of funding whatever is the challenge of the national team. Against Rwanda I thought Nigeria would win. But the two teams shared the points in the match. Both teams could not score any goal in this match. But I don't understand why the Nigeria coach doesn't include Osimhen in his starting XI. Osimhen is a very talented player. But Nigeria's coach is not interested in Osimhen. Osimhen should be given more opportunities.

Player management will be my guess because Osimhen has not played much football since the end of last season. Rushing him to start games might be a costly mistake. He wasn't that sharp last game he played although he got the goal after coming on as a substitute. He still was substituted in but couldn't do anything much because it was a tight game between both country. Victor Boniface is throwing away his chances of making an impact in the team. He forgets that Victor Osimhen can make him not to get less minutes when he starts matches.

I know many Nigerians will be angry with the result of the game because the Super eagles were suppose to have an easy win over Rwanda. IMO it wasn’t a bad outcome for us. The Super eagles have secured four points from the last two games. Osimhen is not very fit at the moment and just completing his move to Galatasaray, though he scored in the last game I still feel he needs some time. We have good players like Awoniyi and Boniface who are also good and able to start ahead of Victor Osimhen.

This is what I was expecting too but luckily our people were fair enough with our super eagle players. I like how Nigerians normally react with criticism when our boys play poorly and appreciate them when they play excellently. Our game with Rwanda did not turn out as expected but the performance from our boys earned them a word of appreciation because most comments I have come across online and offline are positive comments with encouragement to put more effort in their next game. I think having four points from two games with three goals scored without conceding a single goal is not a bad result. Moreover, Nigeria still control the top spot of the table with few games to go.

Yea, it's actually true that anyone that really understands football wouldn't be that much criticizing of their performance against Rwanda even though it didn't go as expected, because they kinda played well, it was just luck that wasn't on their side added with wrong officiating, if not, they would have gone home with the complete three points if that controversial goal wasn't disallowed too, so they tried.

And  finally, I have seen a lot of improvement from this our national team since Austin Eguavon took over, so I believe that the team is actually in a good hands.

The game has already ended and my country Mozambique won. With this victory my country is now leading the group and in the next game we will also need to win to be able to remain at the top of the group. Ideally, Guinea Bissau and Mali would draw in the next game because that way it would be enough for my country to win to have 7 points while Guinea Bissau and Mali would have 4 and 5 points respectively. Congratulations to your country in wining Guinea Bissau it was a great victory because Guinea Bissau is also a very strong country in terms of football, so actually is very nice to see Mozambique on this form this season because for sometime now they have not been playing very well or even qualify but watching there matches I saw the good change in the team and I can imagine how happy the Mozambique will be because right now even those that have already gave up on the players will certainly be impressed now and the wrong idea they had against the club will be reversed.

There is no need to even worry about Mozambique remaining on the top because currently they are the best on there group and even if Mali win Guinea Bissau they will not still be able lead the group because Mozambique on the other hand will also be meeting with Eswatini and wining is also certain for them and they will be able to hold there top position on the table.

Both teams put on an entertaining game. It is not always that you watch African football and be entertained but both teams showed strength and Mozambique came out victorious in the end. This victory keeps  Mozambique at the top of group one with 4 points taken from the first two legs. Nigeria would have won in their last game if they had not underestimated their opponent.

I see no reason why the coaches should not be allowed to work independently and void of the NFF interference. There was a particular period I think it is not up to 2 years or so when the then super eagles coach was complaining that the NFF should allow him choose the players that could fit in the team and that they should not choose players for him and that resulted to him having issues with NFF governing council because they want their boys to play so they could get cuts but however it didn't go down well with the coach and that period it affected their performance.

Possibly, I believe the agreement terms lies within the confines of choosing players and maybe most of the coaches do not find that feasible for their services. Another is payment which is one of the problems with our NFF. They barely release funds as it is with welfare allocation even players allowance is delayed with cooked up stories. They just want a coach that they could easily control and get whatever they want going and if the coach refuses, they frustrate the coach out of service. Austin is a good coach which we all know that and my question is this, why looking for coach when you already have one here and from the matches so far we could tell that he is good for the job or is it that the terms of agreement is not feasible for them to hire him as the coach or what? Why wasting money for temporary purpose while he could asume the office as the head coach. Must it be an international coach?  They just want a coach they could negotiate with and control to do their biddings otherwise what stops them from telling him to be the coach. The fund is not the problem as the government already provided it for them so why the delay?

the initial agreement was for him to take care of this two games after which assessment will be made on how he's able to handle the players and then it will be decided if he's going to continue as the head coach or not. He has faced the task and has delivered very well so I don't know why they should be looking for another coach to take care of the national team. From what I have seen in the interviews he granted, he's a good communicator and his analysis and tactical analysis isn't bad also. Instead of looking for a foreign coach who obviously will be much expensive compared to Augustine Eguavoen.

The AFCON is by the corner and we've changed a lot of coaches already which is not a good one for the players. At least, Augustine Eguavoen has been an insider and the players are already familiar with him coupled with the result he's had so far, it's only best they give him the chance of leading the team into the AFCON. Another thing that's the problem with our regular change if coaches is likely due to lack of proper funding that's going into the sports sector or the embemzlement of those funds tags taking place under ground. The team is already getting sharp and we've seen an average coach that's not doing bad, why not just work with him and forget about sourcing for a new coach who we're not certain can lead the super eagles to victory at the coming AFCON.

I must say that Austin is a very good coach considering the few matches he handles and how perfect it resulted and based on that fact considering making him as there main coach may not really be bad but however we should also note that so long as football is concerned you cannot entirely determined the capacity and skills of handling a club because of two of four matches the person has won because there are whole lot of things that needs to be considered before making someone a head of coach because even if the super eagles perform well on this African cup of nation and even managed to qualify for the world cup, the only way they would be very competitive is having a very intellectual coach that's critical in thinking to come up a better solution for the club, so actually if you ask me I would say that Austin is only good for the local league but not for World Cup.

What baffles me is that majority of the players are his boys he trained back then and they are very much familiar with his pattern of training and football little wonder they were able to play a good game their previous matches. This would go along way to tell you that the relationship they have with him is very much stronger than any other coach because they already know his styles so it would not be a tough time with him as they could easily get along with his pattern and style but bringing in a new coach now would need them to familiarise with the new pattern and style and that would be time consuming for adaptation.

You are not far from the truth. When ever it comes to funds, there is always excuses from the NFF to get this and that. The funds is not a problem for federal government but the people in charge are just the bottle neck. It is sad to say that embezzlement is now the order of the day in our highly revered football federation.

It's understood that Augustine Equavon hasn't been given an official contract yet by NFF, don't be surprised that the boys might come back by October to meet a different coach, the set of persons we have as leaders in NFF can actually pull a stunt by inviting a foreign coach between now till October as that has been their modus operandi. There is no doubt about how good Equavon has handled the team professionally for this two games played so far and that's because he is one man with wealth of experience when it comes to handling the super Eagles, this is not the first time we've seen his ability, we just hope NFF will give him a proper contract that will allow him stay for a little longer.

Consequently, the former Super Eagles Captain Mikel Obi is backing Eguavon calling for a permanent contract for him from NFF and I think if the calls become so heightened in the coming days the NFF will bow to pressure having no choice than to consider retaining Eguavon eventually.

Obi Michael has said it countless times that NFF is a very corrupt organization which is the reason why the association has remain the way it's. If at all there is tranquility within the teams and coaches, we would have been ahead of the mess we are right now. I was ashame when I heard a coach before this one reject to work with NFF because of this situation, they were asking behind for him to lobby some of his salary, I wasn't there but is such allegations are true, then big shame on NFF.

I saw another video from a Podcast where Finidi was clearing air on what happened between them and I was surprised that Fimidi was surprised on how Osimhen reacted about the situation and what he said wasn't the message passed to him but despite what happened, he said he likes and will always support Osimhen. One day, I hope to see a president that will fire all the NFF staffs.

Right before the start of the match, my thought was that Guinea Bissau is going to win over Mozambique, but as we may have it, things turn around with the match and the reverse becomes the situation, though they all put in their efforts and coordination towards the match to ensure that it becomes one of the best entertaining event, the match was indeed a tussle and the survival of the fittest, more to expect getting unfold as other African countries render what they have got to offer subsequently.

If you are a manager, you will be rejecting the offer same way others are doing. The NFF have no principles nor direction. Coupled with the fact that they won’t even want to pay you well for your services, and are quick to bash you when you do not meet expectations. Who knows if they are underpricing the managers, that is why coaches are declining the offer. The players are great and respectful but the NFF makes the role seem like a toxic job. I had a good feeling about Eguavon and would have liked to see him continued as the head coach of the Super Eagles team.

Evening was expecting a win for the super eagles in the match, but they ended up disappointing lots of people, they had lots of chances but they wasted it all, even as they played well, they couldn’t get three points, then there is no result for their efforts, Rwanda isn’t a country that should give the super eagles a difficult time. Before this Afcon qualifiers began, I saw some pictures of super eagles where they were training and the place looks unkept compare to what they are playing at the international level. None of them should even complain about funds because ministry of sport has gotten enough allocation ever since they played the last Afcon and the government offset some arias owned by the government many year, so it's not the fualt of the government nor the players but within the NFF board.

However, we as fan based need to know that some of this players are doing the work because of Afcon and not because of the Nation, winning the African cup of nation is a big achievement but with what is happening in the country, it's not worth sacrificing anything for, the days of playing for love of the country dies during the time of JJ okocha and Kanu Nwanko and Ahmed Musa.

Sometimes last year, in 2023, Jose Peseiro of the senior national team and Ladan Bosso of the Under 20 national team as of then, were owed for months while the Super Falcons coach Randy Williams was said to be owed by the NFF to the tune of  100,000 dollars.

If this is the line that the NFF had been towing all this while, then there's a problem because you do not expect better result and motivation from these coaches when they  are not satisfied with the work they are passionately doing. How can the NFF have to be owing their coaches when they can actually do more than that?

Evening was expecting a win for the super eagles in the match, but they ended up disappointing lots of people, they had lots of chances but they wasted it all, even as they played well, they couldn’t get three points, then there is no result for their efforts, Rwanda isn’t a country that should give the super eagles a difficult time. I expected the match to be an easy win for the super eagles, but it’s just surprising that it ended as a draw. The Super Eagles next match will be against Libya, we don’t know how they are going to perform in the match, but no one will be confident that they will win the match.

Our players are good, we can't doubt their ability to win Rwanda only that it never happened that way. Everybody anticipated something beyond the results we got because of the previous match outcome with this coach and all saw it as a redemption to perfection from what Finidi actualize to a well decorated possibilities. We still have to boost his ego because he has made good records for himself just with the little opportunity given to him, both matches played without conceding a goal.

I don't know what coach they will be performing under, but I bet our squad are extremely covered to face their opponent, frequent changes like this may affect the teams performance due to accepting another newly strategy but we still hope to see a case different with a good outcome and ge to qualify as usual.

There are many things involved. Before a coach decided to leave a coaching job which is very much interested and make the coach more popular and fame if he does well but people rejected and resigned. It means, there is an internal control of the team. And those forces tell the coach who is to play in all matches and that might be a problem withe coach. And also the sharing formula with the rewards and other miscellaneous. In all the institutions and organisations in Nigeria, the major problem is the sharing formula and that lead to many corruption cases in all the organisations.
And because of the corrupt nature of the leaders, they don't want to pay the real money to the coaches so their are rejection cases and resigned ones.
