Saying that every successful people had a mentor isn't really accurate, first of all you must understand that not everyone's journey to success is the same, some made it by believing in themself without looking up to anyone and there are some that had a mentor. Having a mentor isn't a criteria for success but most people believe that it can help facilitate the process which is true. Before picking someone as your icon you should be very careful so you don't end up having the wrong influence. It's easy when you are learning from someone else's experience, it saves you from making some certain mistakes, having a mentor can make life easier but it's possible to succeed without one.

This issue of mentorship was common back in the days when the internet wasn't there. People had to rely more on others who they saw where doing better in the career path they had mapped out for themselves. You know there were no much means to get knowledge from outside your environment, that's one thing that made many people relied so much in having a mentor. But in this present world that idea or thinking that you need to have a mentor before you can succeed is gradually fading away. Because people have now understand and realised that they can succeed on their own without a mentor. The internet has now made it possible for people to have access to informations and materials that can help you discipline yourself till you achieve your desired goals in life.

Very true I agree with you, over the years the people who saw the need to have mentors who they looked up to had no access to the Internet as the social media of today was not like that during those days but right now, information is made available on the Internet both the good and the bad and anyone can have access to information in the Internet at the comfort of their home(s). The Internet did not eradicate the idea of people to have mentors that's one important thing to note rather the Internet created spaces where someone can have a successful person as a mentor online without the person even knowing. People are fond of following the teachings of some of the successful people in the Internet since they talk about their life style and the things they did and are still doing to remain at the top I think the mentorship system is still happening but in a more advanced way since everything is happening more online.

I think not all successful people have mentors, there are people who stick to their own principles and they try to learn on their own by seeking knowledge autodidactically and finally become successful, but people like this are certainly rare because many people usually look for teachers to gain knowledge, only a few people want to learn autodidactically.

Everyone has their own expertise in certain areas so when we need something that we don't understand at this time, we have to know who to ask so that we can find better guidance on what we want to know. Because if you are looking for a mentor who can do everything, it will certainly not be easy to find, especially if the person also has their own busy life so it will be quite difficult to meet at the right time with such a person.

Most successful people have mentors(not all). Even the ones who have made enough money for themselves still have someone who they listen to. Either for business or investment ideas. Mentorship comes in different ways; it could be someone who gave you a business opportunity, taught you a trade, or gave you a connection. A mentor might not be someone who gives you money always. No, is someone knowledgeable, that gives you advice on how to secure your future or takes you out of financial bankruptcy.

It could be noted that most successful in life have a mentor who cautions them not to have a restless spending or lifestyle. I think I will be not wrong to say that some of our politicians have a mentor, someone they look up to and seek advice from.

But watching YouTube videos that explained bitcoin, crypto, trading, gave me more knowledge about it. They helped me understand things I didn't understand before.
Though now, I am still learning about things here in this industry.

Having a mentor or someone that do give your update about the crypto market does not mean that you can't get all these information yourself but sometimes it's good to be someone guiding you through the market so you don't make some silly mistakes that could lead to huge losses for you. There are plenty of newbies that had thought that they can do these alone and end up getting scammed, losing their valuable coins to scammers. What have your gained so far going through this journey yourself without having someone there to guide you and protect you from becoming a victim of scammers.

I would like to discuss this here to understand how many people decide to take this step to find a mentor?

I asked myself this question because in almost every book or interview with successful people I come across a mention of them having, or even currently having a mentor who guides them, helps them develop, and perhaps points out mistakes that will not allow them to grow.

And I was interested in how many of you at some point decided that you needed a mentor, how difficult it was to find one and how did he help you? I suppose that few people use this, maybe even out of fear, because for example I don’t even know who it could be and how can I ask my future mentor about this if I manage to find such a person.

And maybe some of you have been a mentor for other people? Share your experience too, if it is not too much trouble for you.

Sincerely speaking, there are few persons at the top there  that got there without a mentor.
A mentor is one who takes responsibility for your growth in a particular field or area of life and whom you are accountable to. Nobody is born with knowledge and knowledge is a product of experience acquired over some period of time. These experiences can be either good or bad. Mentorship is like a shortcut that exempt the one being mentored from making mistakes that would have put him in a tight position. The mentor holds you by the hand and show you pitfalls to avoid and encourage you when you need it.

One without a mentor is a like a trial and error stuff. You don't really know which will work out.

Getting a mentor will spare one from making mistakes that may hinder their progress! I may be wrong but scarcely will you see any successful one at the top without a mentor.

You actually had a mentor or someone that taught you about crypto. If you had a YouTubers that you always follow his content, that's your mentor. Mentors comes in various ways, some people are mentor to others without knowing and if you have someone that you're always listening to and following his footsteps then that's your guidance or mentor depending on which word that you want to use.

Having mentors isn't a bad thing and neither is not having one because everybody isn't built the same and while some of us need people to guide us, others don't and they'll do just find and sometimes better than those having mentors.

I had a mentor in investing but didn't have any forthe crypto industry but my investing mentor (Robert kiyosaki) help me alot through his books.

same here, i've been following warren buffett's letters to shareholders for years, it's like having a mentor, he's sharing his wisdom and experience, i've learned so much from his insights on value investing, it's amazing how much you can learn from someone who's been in the game for decades, even if you don't have a personal relationship with them.

They probably also have mentors from their childhood or somehow they went through and had some conversation. But I agree to you that they have inspirations on how they have looked into the world and the wonders that it has got. Are they successful with that case? I guess they are and we can simply say if they've got parents, friends, teachers or whoever they got that inspiration might be a mentor in their own treatment and volition.

Having a mentor is not necessary to make it life. Not every successful person has a mentor but having one will really help to facilitate the process of achieving that success. Mentors help to direct, motivate and inspire you in your journey to success. They make that possible with their experience after passing through that same process you are passing now. Them guiding you doesn’t mean you’ll trail on the same path with them, their must be some differences and that’s what differentiates you from them and can make your success journey faster and simpler. disagree with you because a tree cannot make a forest, before someone became successful in anything about the person is doing there must be a teacher or that must be an instructor who directed the person to do or to know what is doing perfectly, so every successful person have instructor or have a mentor that is showed the person the way forward that can make the person to be successful so after the information you can add your own wisdom that will make you more different on more successful than in other person because I know that success can be achieved through your personal plans

Life itself has taught one so much and with that not everyone you see successful have a mentor or any of that, some tend to grow by themselves and this is due to what they've seen in life and having a mentor seem like a control force to them but in the other hand some others see having a mentor as something useful, so I don't see anything wrong with it but it's not every successful person out there that have a mentor.

I don't think so. There are people who prefer self-taught, they may be comfortable in this way. Not every sector in life requires mentors, there are some matters that we can learn ourselves. Even for trading and investing in crypto, there are also people who do it by self-taught. I also learn crypto myself, I don't have any mentor so far.

Ideally, mentors only function to guide you. You must have your own intention to learn. If you have no intention to learn and to succeed, mentors can't do anything. Your intention will determine how serious you will make efforts.

To be honest, one does not need to find a mentor in order to achieve success in life; there are many wealthy individuals that some people aspire to be like, but they have no understanding of what and how the person suffered to achieve success. We have many kinds of successful people in life, some who achieved their success illegally and others who did it with hard effort. I will never search for a mentor or choose that I want to be successful like this person has done.

However, since hard work is the only thing that determines a person's success, I can only look out for a wealthy person who I want to succeed more than; I don't have to look after someone who has already achieved success. You cannot believe in your mentor; you can only rely on your own efforts. Do those who look after their mentors go to them to give them advice on how to succeed in life? That seems crazy to me because they have no faith in their hard work and how they will succeed in life.

When you do not need a mentor in fighting for success then you are very sure with all the abilities that you have and with the hard work that you do of course you will be able to be successful because if someone only relies on a mentor in achieving the desired success of course it will be difficult for them to achieve success because they only do according to the mentor's instructions and very rarely do we see them succeed beyond the achievements of a mentor, of course it would be better if we could try on our own and be sure with all the abilities that we have in achieving success.

I agree with your opinion if someone is not sure with the hard work they do and relies more on advice than their mentor of course this is an unreasonable action because it is difficult for anyone to achieve success when they are not sure with the abilities they have and the hard work they do themselves.

If someone relies solely on a mentor, then the person is lazy minded and unserious. The mentor is supposed to just provide guidance based on his experience which might still be limited. On your own part, you need to keep learning and building your experiences in order to be independent one day and be able to mentor others. It's not everything that you'll run back to your mentor. Sometimes you need to take decisions on your own as a proof of learning to yourself and your mentor.

Depending solely on your mentor is like remaining a baby forever, which is absurd and I wouldn't be surprised if the person isn't finally successful despite having a mentor.

Not every successful person had a mentor,some persons became successful without the picture of a mentor.Don't ever limit yourself to having a mentor by all means,you can also be a mentor of yourself,having a mentor doesn't guarantee you success,one can also thrive for success by being determined and being ambitious.The society believe that many individuals that had no mentor in the journey of life passed through a very rough path,though it very correct because there was nobody to guide them and correct them.
