I agree, there are successful people that didn't have a chance to get a mentor and themselves are their own mentors. They still went through so much challenges and trials of their lives and with the businesses that they have chosen. Things didn't go smoothly and they've managed to win those trials of lives with their experience. Having a mentor is a plus and an advantage but that doesn't guarantee the success of the mentee. Life's toughness is some times more than enough to be the inspiration for us to push us through the toughest battles of life in order to succeed.

Those people who didn't have mentors are often the most successful ones. Sure, it's always good to have a mentor, but if you're mature enough and confident in yourself, you won't need one. Without a mentor, you'll have a harder path, but you'll learn how to figure things out on your own, and that'll make things easier for you later when it comes to improving and moving forward. With a mentor, you'll avoid those so called obstacles and won't have to struggle as much. And that's okay too, but in my opinion, people should go through tough situations on their own because that's how you toughen up, grow stronger, and prepare yourself for whatever comes next
Yes, the hardest lessons are there and that path that someone who doesn't have a guide will make more better people if these are the guys who become the mentors. I think these are the ones who are not selfish and would like to share their life experiences. Either are good and can be a way to success. It is that we'll choose that path which is going to be helpful to us and which is not. People who went through a lot, they're the more resilient people and when people are like that, they're not going to stop until they reach their goal and success.

You do not need to have a mentor before you can become successful in life. There are many successful people in life that does jot have a mentor.

Some people only like after a role model and they may want to be like such people and work towards it.

But know that success is not about having a mentor or looking after someone as a role model. It is about how smart you are in achieving successes. Opportunity and exposure are also very important.
You're right success has nothing to do with a mentor all that time, like those ones that inherit their wealth or these that grow from country where there's so much opportunities to stay a life. Both successful people still need a mentor, mentorship is very important in life , but is not a guarantee for success.

Success is as a result of hard work, if you work smartly in this era you don't need anyone except your data and phone to succeed, success does not rotate around one person, we can be successful without mentorship.

You really think success does not have anything to do with mentor? Now just imagine if the mentor is not there to give you some important information on how to become successful did you think you could achieve succes freely without undergoing some challenges? The reason why we need mentor is so as we can be guided on what to do the steps to take to bypass the obstacles that might come our way. Although most folks wouldn't mind doing their thing alone, personally I feel it's not advisable especially in a field that you know absolutely nothing about.

I genuinely think no two lives are ever the same so therefore it is not necessary for a mentor to be in your life before you succeed but nevertheless i cannot underlook the guidance of a good mentor to a growing mindife but then life usually presents different circumstances to different people and then sometimes the lessons needed for growth come directly from your challenges or failures and even your everyday experiences rather than from a just single guiding figure you see as mentor.

I don't believe in this mentorship thing after coming to find a Forex mentor making more money from subscriptions than they can actually trade themselves..so these success stories of mentors did ABC are really not my cup of tea..and of course not every mentor is bad but the experience just left a bad taste for these guys.

Otherwise in other industries, say for example someone grooming you for a senior position..this does come in handy but experience can teach you this too  Roll Eyes

All I’m trying to say , sometimes we are our own mentor, people thinks without a mentor there would be any significant in our lives , the way people viewed mentorship make it look like without having a mentor in our lives it won’t go smoothly, situations enhances our understanding and pushes us sometimes to make a better decision even with or without a mentorship .

I think majority of persons have a mentor even though sometimes it can be unknown to them that they have one. There might be people who are claiming to be self made by sticking to their values and probably principle they learnt from somewhere, someone or a book. Now books seems normal but in actual sense you're consulting the author that is, you're asking him to be your mentor on that subject you're about to study. Most people might not understand this but not all mentor are physically present to tell you what to do at certain time of your life where you need the right knowledge and motivation to push through.

I wouldn’t support one day that mentorship are not good because mentors have literally helped a lot of people become who they are today. Even in real life, most successful people didn’t just wake up one morning and did everything they did today alone, they had people that guided them at some point in their life.
Yes, having a mentor does not guarantee you success, like nothing in life is even guaranteed in the first place. So that should not make mentorship to look useless. Because a good mentor will save you from plenty unnecessary mistakes and time wasting they already passed through before you.

I agree with you. Basically, the point is that life is not the same for everyone, and at the same time, not everyone has a mentor in their life, in many cases, they have to move forward completely on their own, every person's journey is different. It is definitely good if we have a mentor, but it is not that our life will stop improving if we do not have a mentor. Having a mentor is not mandatory for success, but a good mentor can definitely be a big advantage, so in the end, your own skills and experience are the main thing, so improve yourself, think about moving forward on your own, that is the best.

Truly success in life is not define by being mentee under a mentor, however guidance from a mentor can make a mentee to accelerate their success because under a guidance it become easy to understand and learn very fast whereas without a mentor there is tendency of that individual to becoming successful very slowly without much pace, such individual would probably fail along the line as well as get up thus gained more experience, personally I would prefer to work under a mentor unfortunately credible and truthful mentors are very hard to get, mentors who are willing to sacrifice their time to tutor or guide a mentee are very rare that is why many resorted to self-taught.

Yes, Behind every successful person is a guide, teacher and advisor who helps the person move forward in life, which is better for them because a successful person does not succeed alone. Behind him is the advice of someone who gives good advice and tries to teach good lessons from mistakes. Just like a student achieves good success in an exam, behind him is the hard work of the teacher, parents and student. Through this, new experiences are gained by overcoming difficulties. Through this, a person stays committed to his goal and works hard on it.

I agree with what you said having a mentor in life is helpful in many ways but it is not only way to get success. More than having a mentor one should be self disciplined , should have self learning capabilities and personal determination, these are the basic things that can help a person to get success without involving any mentor. And should have a sense to recognise the opportunities around him in the environment for that , a person should be focused and make quick and wise decisions.  Set your goals and be consistent , do hard work to achieve those goals give your 100% put your all efforts and learn from your mistake. So one does not need a mentor to get success all these things will get you to the point where you want to be in your life.

It's not true for everyone, but it is for many. If you have a mentor, you'll be ahead of the rest. This isn't a requirement or a prerequisite for success, but it's a supportive factor. There are those who succeed without a mentor. However, those with mentors tend to be ahead of their peers. Deciding what to do and how to plan your path is crucial at a young age. If you act without knowing what you're doing, you end up wasting time. A family member or a good teacher can serve as a mentor. This adds immense value to a person's development. This is %100 true.

I have been going through verious comments and all is talking about the impossibility of life without a mentor, I see nothing wrong with it but my greatest concern is does that means all that made it only achieved it because they had a mentor or can't there be success without mentor.
From my own instincts and believe about life, success do comes but it does not necessarily depends on mentors because I know once there is favour all including mentors can catch up with the person in question but that does not come against the importance of having a good mentor
In my opinion, a mentor isn't just about someone hired to accompany them, especially financial mentors. Mentors can be found anywhere, whether they are direct, or indirect. For example; Warren Buffett made Charlie Munger his mentor, even making him his trusted partner. So, here, Buffett made his friend, as his direct mentor. Another example; Warren Buffett used Benjamin Graham principles as his investment strategy, and indirectly, he made him his mentor. Well, I know Buffett once collaborated with Benjamin Graham, but I think he only made him an indirect mentor (without any direct closeness).

So, I am sure everyone has a mentor in their life, whether directly or indirectly, and I think all successful people have it. It is the same with the principles we have today; aren't they all learned from others?
That is what I do not think is true, everyone has his own life to live and my life is completely different from yours and what works for me may not work for you, so if you find it difficult surviving without a mentor does not mean all will be dependent on that for survival. I completely disagree with you on that because I strongly believe with or without mentor one can get over poverty and bad life, but what mentors do is only to increase once chances of breakthrough compared to one that dont have a mentor.

Not everyone has the same experience. People with experience are able to make the right decisions according to the situation. That is why everyone should take advice from someone with experience while making any decision in life. In many cases, sharing your plans with someone also benefits a lot. Such matters can also be discussed with one or more people who are trusted and experienced to you. They actually work as mentors.

Mentors are needed for success in life. Because you can learn by making mistakes but it will cost you more time. But if you can move forward in life by avoiding most of the mistakes and risks due to the right advice, then your path to success will be easier.

Just like a student achieves good success in an exam, behind him is the hard work of the teacher, parents and student. Through this, new experiences are gained by overcoming difficulties. Through this, a person stays committed to his goal and works hard on it.

Is not in all cases because there are people that are self built without a mentor and for everyone is a different story and just that there is no way that things can be done alone, it's a collective effort that makes it work, aside that a lot of wealthy read books a lot and that is how they get some ideas and that is why if they go for interviews they recommend books for people to read and money comes with a lot of responsibility because even when you start making money you will need to find a way of managing it properly and it is good when you take things like this seriously.

But what I know that is more important is the fact that you need people to either learn from because in wealth people are important and you also need to learn from people that are already there because there is always one or two that you will learn from there and it is only when you are close to them. And as it may be having a mentor is not a bad idea at all.

We all need a mentor, but it is not that we will never be successful without a mentor, and there is no guarantee that we will be successful even if we have a mentor. We have seen many people who have taken various courses, hired private teachers, tried everything in different ways, but even after that they could not succeed, in the end they could not do anything, and in their case all this is worthless. But again, it is seen that there are many people who have learned everything through their own willpower, worked hard, but never gave up, they have been successful despite not having much of such advantages. So a mentor is necessary, but without it we cannot think that we will fail, those who have faith in themselves, have a mentality of working hard, they can definitely succeed, even if there is no mentor.

I agree with you. Life is never the same, especially when it comes to trading or investment goals. Everyone has a different perspective, personality, decision-making timing and luck that can't be replicated. Therefore following a mentor continuously or even becoming dependent on one actually makes it difficult for us to grow. Even the best mentors can't impart their entire life experience to us.

While having a good mentor is invaluable it's not a substitute for personal experience but rather a filter before we make decisions. Having a mentor can accelerate learning, provide sound guidance so we avoid making mistakes and help hone our market reading skills.

Essentially, direct experience is the best teacher because the lessons are embedded directly in our minds. But having a mentor can be like a guide looking at a map helping us read it more quickly and avoid making mistakes. Both are beneficial for achieving success.

I would like to discuss this here to understand how many people decide to take this step to find a mentor?

I asked myself this question because in almost every book or interview with successful people I come across a mention of them having, or even currently having a mentor who guides them, helps them develop, and perhaps points out mistakes that will not allow them to grow.

And I was interested in how many of you at some point decided that you needed a mentor, how difficult it was to find one and how did he help you? I suppose that few people use this, maybe even out of fear, because for example I don’t even know who it could be and how can I ask my future mentor about this if I manage to find such a person.

And maybe some of you have been a mentor for other people? Share your experience too, if it is not too much trouble for you.

I would like to say that mentorship is great and if anyone has it, it likely to be an added advantage. The reason is that, it allows for you not to have the same pitfalls as your mentor. The road you currently travel has been traveled by him/her so they are in the position to guide so that the same mistakes will not be repeated and which translates to getting to the destination faster because you are walking with someone that knows the road to it. Although that is not to say that is the only way, as there can still be a successful travel without the mentor. It just means,v you have to figure it out by yourself.

Every smart person understands how important it is for them to have someone who is experienced and able to teach. There are a lot of AI bots right now that know everything and are ready to teach, but they don't know people's mistakes. We get attached to teachers, I remember my mentor very well and still respect him very much, it's amazing that some people manage to get attached to AI. We all need to be careful with this powerful but dangerous technology. Because she can really teach better than teachers, but at the same time she can develop mental illnesses. But communication with mentors and teachers always gives you a sense of communication and peace of mind.

You're right success has nothing to do with a mentor all that time, like those ones that inherit their wealth or these that grow from country where there's so much opportunities to stay a life. Both successful people still need a mentor, mentorship is very important in life , but is not a guarantee for success.

An individual's success does not lies beneath mentorship, it is very possible for an individual to go a very long way without a mentor. But the fact is that sharing other people's experiences helps a lots in the journey of success, but that doesn't mean you should always count on other people's opinions, because they will not always be right. The most important thing is to apply the skills that you aquire from learning, and knowledge and experience that you gain, you can use the opinions of others if they align with your knowledge or requirements. Your mentor may be wrong sometimes, and besides some mentors are deceitful. If you are able to find a good, honest, and knowledgeable person then its fine, but you have to be extremely careful about who you chose to be your mentor.
