I think not all players can get that lossback offer. If they created a promo event like that, it would definitely be publicly announced. I think it is an offer for certain customers. So it is reasonable that for claiming the lossback bonus they would manually review the bets that were placed. If the promo offer is general for all customers, the terms and conditions might also be published more clearly.

If such promotions are to be run or it’s currently running, the terms of winning and eligibility for payment should be well defined, so that whoever is interested in participating will know what they are getting into. Given how easy it was to gain access to the system, she didn't even need to be an experienced hacker, a skilled hacker. How could she access it by simply providing someone's name and her own Gmail address?

If it is an automatic approval system, it's terrible.
If it is a manual approval system, any staffs related to that approval were bad staffs.

It's very basic principle that if it is a company, a government authority, any working communication must be from official emails of that company or that government authority. Using individual gmail is a red flag of impersonating attack.

This has been a topic on our local crypto Telegram, too, and some members are even saying the bullies would probably just call the kid Betbold (bold is slang term for X-rated movies in our country).

When he grows up, when he learns that his mother sold his name to a gambling company for just $1.2 million, it's hard for him to think about how much online bullying he'll have to go through.

She's probably right. Most people nowadays tend to follow whatever is trending and printing money online. Also, we've seen people sell parts of their bodies for some cash, so selling their name wouldn't be too hard; you earn tons of cash, plus you get to keep your body intact. As for her kid turning into some kind of a king or maybe even a celebrity, I doubt that. Give it a couple of months; no one would probably remember that this happened.

Yeah I totally understand why you're concerned about the future of the baby, but who knows how he'll feel about it when he becomes an adult?  Perhaps he might even end up liking the name and also find the whole story amusing, most especially if he knows the reason for his naming.

But if at the end he doesn't like the name at all, he can always tell all his friends or the people around him to call him something else. And as for the attention about the news, it might be trending right now but around the time that he's a grown man, people might not even pay attention or even care about the story anymore.  Probably it's just close family members who might bring up the story once in a while and laugh about it. A name does not necessarily define who an individual is or will become. The money can help the child get the best education in life, provide a life of comfort without having to work for anyone.
