UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Season

Big defeat to chelsea, they were very much in control in the first half as Joao Pedro got the goal for them but it all turn around for them as Atalanta scored 2 goals in the second half, it now 4 games in all competitions without a win for Chelsea. They will be hosting Everton in their next game in the premier league I hope they can really bounce back in that game.

I gambled on BOth team to scored and it played through. It another champions league game tomorrow l really hope I can make much more profit tomorrow.

Nothing surprising in today's Champions League game, except for Liverpool, who won with a narrow win in the last minute of the game.

Atalanta was a better side against Chelsea. I watched them; they deserved the win. Both Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid all won their games, nothing surprising at all.

Liverpool was just lucky to win the match in the ending minutes. For Liverpool not to play good football or still struggle even when Salah is not on the pitch means that Salah is not the problem. I wonder why Arne Slot upheld his ideology. Although, he is the coach and I do not doubt that, but I refuse to understand that a team is struggling and the best thing they could do is to bench and  blame their best player.

Atleast these few matches that Salah didn't play, Liverpool would have won exceptionally well so that we will know clearly that the problem is Salah. Let's see what happens after the AFCON though.

There’s an internal problem the coach is having with Mo Salah that they’re not telling us or maybe Arne Slot is taking advices from the likes of Jamie Carragher and Co. Cause I don’t understand why Salah is sidelined.
Kudos to Liverpool they were able to come out victorious against a compact Inter Milan, the three points is of the utmost importance to them right now and they’re climbing back up in the UCL gradually.
Once again another Defeat for Chelsea and their bad run of form continues.

The team is going through a lot of problems right now, from a decline in performance, through conflicts between the manager and star players, to speculations about Slot's future and potential replacement. So winning away game against a high-calibre club like Inter is just what Liverpool needed.
Their last two games in the UCL league stage should be relatively easier than today's game: Marseille (away) and Qarabag (home), so it's almost certain they will advance to the play-offs.

I was unhappy when they won a penalty; they never should have won that game. Salah deserves better, so this should be a punishment for them. I was confident that Chelsea was going to win this match but it looked like my prediction for Inter Milan to win Liverpool was transferred to this match. Chelsea winning first half and losing in full time is a very bad one for Enzo as it shows that something is still wrong with the Blues. There is a very close connection between this match and their defeat by Leeds in the aspect that the team lost control of the match somewhere along the line and that made them pay the ultimate price.

I was so disappointed as well, I thought they were going to win this after they scored first but they let Atlanta grow in the game and they were comfortable in their attacks as a result of Chelsea's weak attack. Somehow everytime Enzo Maresca just finds a way to affect his teams performance, there's always a a problem in the team selection or with the changes he make. He's not a bad coach but his ways of trying to balance the team is not working so he needs to to make adjustments. Today I don't see no reason why Estevao shouldn't come on, Gittens and Neto wefe clearly not doing enought.

Maresca is always making the same mistakes every time and I can't just tell why. I don't even know if his coaching crew are ever giving him the right suggestions at all or they're all blind and not seeing how bad Badshille performs, all the goals was his mistake.

Secondly, the unnecessary conversion of players positions is harming Chelsea honestly. Using Chalobah as right back in a match like this is greatly undermining the importance of a good defense.

Removing Chalobah was stupid of him to be more concerned with damage control and not team effectiveness, A better substitution would've been removing Badshille to introduce Gusto and Removing  Enzo to bring in Santos who would help with defensive play to reduce the pressure on Chalobah and decrease the likelihood of a second yellow card.

These would've boosted both defense and Midfield and allow James move further to support the attacking more effectively.

I think he is trying to manage the players so they don't get over worked and fatigued that why Badiashile was on but my problem is him always gambling the champions league games by using too many second choice players as if the champions league is not an important competition. Does he still think they play in the Conference league? We've lost to  Qarabag and now Atlanta and it's all as a result of the player selection.

Honestly Liverpool were just so lucky in the match, they didn’t play anything special in the match, but actually I expected them to lose the match, I never expected them to win the match, but they were lucky to score towards the ending of the match which gave them a win in the match.  

Slot haven’t been making use of salah in few matches now, he thinks salah is Liverpool problem, but it’s obvious that salah isn’t Liverpool problem alone, benching salah wont really solve Liverpool right now, it’s going to end up adding to there problem, because salah is a talented player, which contributed to Liverpool winning the premier league last season. In times like this where the team is performing far below the expectations, there is bound to be problems beteeen managers and certain players. This has long been known, Mo Salah hasn't been the problem of Liverpool because Liverpool management team boosted their squad with some great players after they won the premier League trophy last season. Things were actually going fine which they won majority of their matches when the season kicked-started.

This whole issues, I believe lies somewhere which cannot be far away from the coach, you can't tell me that all of a sudden, all the players just got fatigued or what, and match after match Liverpool escape defeat if they didn't lose the game, I think most managers might have come to understand or got to know that his tactical system which he's using to win games an before he figure it and to change strategy, things has gotten out of hand already.

 I feel that Liverpool would need to be more than average if they hope to survive in this UCL because I don't see any reason why they'd be struggling with clubs. Let's give them the benefit of doubt that they played against a strong side like Inter but I bet you, they should have won the game without hassle if they were in form. Barca went behind badly on the counter attack, but Kounde finished the job in 3 minutes. He didn't play like a right-back, more like a right inside forward, going into the box and scoring 2 headers. Big teams are big because they can do stuff like this. Anyway, just like I thought Barca will get themselves into the top 8 or at least stay at the top of the play-off spots. They'll probably win their last 2 matches too.

With the way Chelsea play, I cannot be confident in them to win any match. They are too inconsistent to be taken seriously. I was not confident in them winning Atalanta, especially considering the form they are in currently.
They still have a chance to make it to the top 8, but they need to win against Pafos and Napoli if they want to stand a chance. I know they can win those games, and at the same time, they can drop points in those games.

Looking at the schedule and the number of games they have to play in the league, FA cup, EFL cup, it would be best if they avoid having extra games for the UCL play-offs. And with their inconsistent form, they might even get knocked out of the playoffs.

Seriously one of the new act I usually see with all this modern day coaches is the fact that most of them usually are fond of switching from one formation to another all in the name of been flexible, yes there is this advantage that comes with it but let’s be sincere it doesn’t helps the team get maximum points all the time. If a manager feels that he wants to be flexible for me the best thing has always been having a large squad with same quality of players or almost same. The reason is that you will be able to have a change players like for like.

This was the same thing that Pep was fond of doing in the period where he won the premier league back to back four times in a row, he had lots of quality on the bench and seriously when Pep takes off a player and brings another one you hardly see a drop in quality which was actually the only way if worked out for him. But the look at when he had less of this quality he didn’t do much of that, in fact the champions league title that Pep won he did that playing same set of players and was even scared to actually making substitutions during the games I could recall the Real Madrid game where he didn’t make any because of fear of over rotation but today you see managers who do not even have a standard first eleven yet doing lots of unnecessary rotations

Atalanta 2 Vs Chelsea 1

Inconsistencies have been the biggest issue faced by this Chelsea side since Poch was in charge and they are still yet to fix it. They get a set of good results and everyone thinks they are now in contention for the title but they then have a bad result and fail to bounce back quickly, falling into a bad run after.

I know they won the Conference league and CWC last season, but I think the club is looking more to compete for the UCL and EPL with the investments that have been made.

Is becoming a normal thing for the Blues to win one day and draw as much as possible but losing doesn't come like they draws. Is sad to see them struggle in almost every game. I wasn't expecting Chelsea to have a wonderful display but a game they'll act like they don't know what they're doing but will still be the winner and that's not a good way to show that they're improving.
I seriously love how Atalanta responded to the game when they were a goal down, I wasn't expecting them to fight back to get a win but tonight was 100% different even after losing their league game they still came back better to get a win against the Blues. Another about Chelsea is that the manager doesn't have a steady set of players as his best and if you remove Caicedo and Cucurella from the squad you'd see them making a lot of mistakes which indicates that they don't have a better replacement.

They got really lucky today,they didnt deserve to win because that penalty honestly shouldnt be given,the contact was really weak and to me that isnt a penalty. Real Madrid and City meet again in the CL tomorrow night, they have seen so much of each other in recent years. Last season Real knocked City out of the competition in the League Phase play-offs, now City get the chance to get back at them. Real Madrid come into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Celta, a crazy game that saw a couple of Madrid players lose their heads.

That said, it is always difficult to predict City v Real. It can produce the unexpected and some drama too. City look the more stable team right now, but who doesn't know what Real is capable of in the CL.

Monaco surprised me, they missed too many goals. Balogun in particular seemed like a striker who wanted to do a lot but couldn't. He finally scored, though. He tried really hard. If he could do this consistently, he'd probably stay at Arsenal. He's a player a level below top class.
Akliouche will probably transfer to a big club this summer. I really liked him today too. Monaco has an ambitious squad. They are trying their best.

Yes, Liverpool were very fortunate to miss a penalty kick from Inter. That was the only goal Liverpool scored in the victory. However, winning is still a win, and in Liverpool's case, they won, ending their losing streak.

However, if we look at the match statistics, there are some truly frustrating things because the forwards created so many chances to score. They had more ball possession and more shots, but if it weren't for the penalty kick, I'm not sure they would have scored.

I still have serious doubts about Liverpool this season, especially in the Champions League and even more so in the Premier League. A comeback for the remainder of the season isn't really a question of being impossible or incapable, but rather the difficulty of gaining points and matching the strength of other teams that have been much more solid since the start of the season. Inter Milan has been strong this season, but in the Champions League, that team isn't the only benchmark to be considered as the strongest, especially when it comes to the strength of other teams that are not doing well in the domestic league like Liverpool.
