Liverpool really tried in the second half but the game was not in their favour in the end. Liverpool needs to know that if they’re to beat Galatasaray, they’ll have to perform better than before and not play as they did in the first leg of this competition. Galatasaray are now feeling bigger and better after they prevailed against Inter Milan to advance to the round of 16, they now feel more confident and have grown to be a big team other contenders will be fearful of when they meet. Hard luck for Liverpool, I’m awaiting to see how the second leg will turn out to be at Anfield stadium.

Galatasaray are not actually feeling bigger because they defeat inter Milan because inter Milan weren’t even a good side in this season champions league so that win was just a normal win. Today also the win was also not surprising because Galatasaray has most getting of Liverpool most especially in their home games plus Liverpool is still not at their best. So i actually anticipated and upset. Next big task is for Galatasaray to come to Anfield, seriously I won’t be surprised to see the Turkish giants beat the Reds at their turf because that Anfield has not been fortress it used to be for Liverpool this season.

Personally I think Arne Slot time at Liverpool actually hangs on how far the club can go in this champions league and early exit will be really bad for them considering their position in the league already. So he needs to actually try to advance to next stage to help him buy time from the club

I don't even know how Tottenham managed to reach the round of 16 because what's this. Imagine losing by 4:1 in just first half, how will they second half look like with this level of poor performance from Tottenham. This might just be their early elimination from the Champions League because Atletico Madrid will want to win them with a high score margin so that they won't stand any chance in the second leg. Tudor have had many bad results since he became Tottenham's head coach, a sack is already knocking at the door for him, maybe after the Champions League games the club's management might announce his sack.

That is one of problem or rather blessing in the new format of the champions league, they might have been able to avoid those big clubs and got tied with the little clubs more to actually gather those points. They did qualify directly by finishing in the top 8 and not going through the playoffs

Tottenham were completely destroyed in this match. i think the second half might see a few more goals if Tottenham continue to make the same mistakes. if Tottenham want to maintain their pride, they will have to try their hardest to score as many goals as possible in the second half. it would be quite dramatic if Tottenham managed to equalize or even turn the game around. however, it would be a nightmare scenario for Tottenham if they concede more goals in the second half. Honestly, I'm not even sure why Tottenham chose Igor Tudor as their interim coach. there are plenty of other options out there. Igor Tudor has failed at his previous clubs as well, so Tottenham can't expect much from their current coach.

Galatasaray have played as well as they can in this first leg match, you should be grateful that even though you don't have more scores, you can at least win this match, Liverpool is not a team that can easily be beaten so you also have to understand.
30 minutes into the match, there hasn't been a single goal from either team, 0-0 is a boring match, I suggest you watch the Bayern Munich match which is much more exciting, Atalanta was completely slaughtered by Bayern Munich at home, this is very embarrassing for Atalanta

Bayern match isn't interesting to me because it's one sided. Galatasaray match was fascinating because both teams strength seems equal. Unlike, Bayern match that Atalanta isn't strong enough to match them.
 

Atalanta overlapped too much and made their defense porous which is why Bayern Munich could score up to 3 goals at half time. Atalanta should have been diplomatic and know that they are not just playing a regular Bundesliga team but the most dominant of them all so they should have calm down and play draw in the first half them in the second half they start attacking because by then Bayern Munich players must have started becoming weak. It isn't a boring game regardless, scoring too easy goals do not make a match boring.

On the other hand, Barcelona is still finding it difficult to break the deadlock as the host keep their defense wall very strong preventing Barcelona from penetrating easily.

Barcelona still struggling against Newcastle in the second half but i think they will get a die minute goal and win the match, when they return for the second leg then Barcelona can do whatever they like.

Well, Liverpool still have little hope of qualifying since they just lose by a goal at Galatasaray home. If they could play to win by two goal at home then they are good to go. About alot of bet which this match might has lose. You can hardly escape this. Even just Liverpool to score no come out. This match is one of the true definition of gambling.

Barcelona have gone terribly bad this period and tonight shows how bad it is. By rating and everything, Barcelona is supposed to be superior to Newcastle despite playing at away but the stats is showing Newcastle with more attempts both on target and off target. Notable player like Robert Lewandowski was hidden for the entire time he played with just one minor attempt on goal. Barcelona will be lucky not to lose the match.

It was not the tried the fans needed but the win. I was thinking they would win this Match but it was all irony. Today games are just complicated. Liverpool loss 1-0 to Galatasaray, Bayern Munich winning 6-0 against Atalanta  and Atletico Madrid 5-1 Tottenham Hotspur Newcastle 0-0 Barcelona. All the matches today, it was Liverpool game that surprised me. Liverpool can't even withstand with Galatasaray again.

I've been watching Newcastle vs. Barcelona match from the beginning and there's still no goal. But when I look at the other matches, both of them have 6 goals. If I had known it would be like this, I would've opened one of the other matches to watch.

Just as I was writing this message Newcastle scored but it was a clear offside. I can really say it's been a boring match. Barca is leaving the job for the second leg at home. Newcastle needed to score at home, if they go to Spain with this score their job will be almost impossible.

It is difficult to say if it is confident problem with Tottenham Hotspur players facing Atletico Madrid. Atletico keep increasing the goals up making things more bad for Tottenham Hotspur when they came back for the return leg.

The English club may be suffering from injuries that have swept their top players off the pitch and has impacted on the team but it does not warrant this sporadic conceding of goals.

Two seasons in a row this Tottenham Hotspur team has been struggling from relegation, managers has been changed and it is vital for the team that some players are shown the exit door at the end of the season to rebuild the club.

It's incredible what's happening in Madrid with Tottenham performing elow expectations. I don't know what got into Tudor to leave Vicario out and I feel sorry for Kinsky because he could pay for a bad night that will haunt him throughout his career as happened to Karius.

When Tudor took Kinsky off, that's where the psychological impact was felt. Hopefully, he can quickly recover from this situation and continue working hard to become the best goalkeeper he can be.

What do we expect with Tottenham at the moment The score is too far to catch up and they now just have to accept that even though there is still a leg 2 they are already eliminated in this competition.
Solanke reduced the deficit to 5-2 now but that doesn't seem to have improved their situation.

But it is good that they are eliminated in this competition because looking at their situation, the focus should be on the EPL so that they avoid the relegation zone so I think with them eliminated in this knock out phase (although the second leg is still there) they can focus more on getting out of the zone that is currently not too comfortable in domestic competitions.

The biggest punishment a player can get. I don't know what to think about that, it probably was the right action to take there as I read in the live ticker about all the mistakes he made, but this leads me to ask why he would go for this experiment in the first place. I don't know whether Tottenham has a rule that the goalkeeper gets some games in the UCL, but maybe it would have been better to give him a chance in the second game. This backfired so badly that it most likely cost Tottenham the quarterfinal within the first 15 minutes of the game. You can never tell whether other mistakes could have happened with the other goalkeeper, but this is a horrible situation for Kinsky.

If not that Liverpool players did so many wrongs, they had quite the chance of winning Galatasaray conveniently. Ekitike missed a good chance he had on the ball, the fault was from the players and they should take a whole blame for failing to utilize the opportunities they had. When the match started, Galatasaray made lots of defensive passing errors that Liverpool was in a good position to add to the scores, my only hope is for them to make use of the second leg, 1 goal doesn't stamp who qualifies, the result from last leg determines.

A better Barcelona team in Black and White shirt won the game tonight and it's like a surprise that they were forcing the game so hard that Barcelona went on to defending. Though it would have being more than a 1 goal victory if Newcastle has made good use of their opportunities.

Maybe the result might be upturned in the camp nou but tonight it's Newcastle that have shown great prowess today and kudos to Newcastle as they truly deserve this win, if they can hold it to the next few minutes left to end the game.
