Did Barcelona Lose to Newcastle? This was another unexpected match tonight. Besides Liverpool losing to Galatasaray, I now see Barcelona losing by the same scoreline, 1-0. This is quite strange. Hansi Flick didn't seem to have prepared well for this match, which is why they lost.

Unlike Bayern, most people would have expected a win here. A 6-0 defeat would embarrass the Italian league. This is a hard blow, and the second leg for Atalanta is impossible to catch on aggregate.

You should have waited until the final whistle, because Barcelona draw the match. They got a penalty kick in the last movement which was converted to a goal by Lamine Yamal. But this is the most interesting match today I never expected this incredible performance from Newcastle, they played a very good game from the start to the final minutes, they really pressured Barcelona but I know Hansi Flick will make them payback for this in the Camp Nou.

Galatasaray are just a different force at home as they currently have the most active football fans and their fans are very active and they  are the extra players in the game, but I believe when the next games comes up Liverpool will do better.  Galatasaray are going to go to anfield with the intention of actually defending that one goal except Liverpool will get to score early so that the match will now be tense.

I've said before that Liverpool do look the better team but they are not a consistent team especially play away from home and it really happened. Yeah as you said Liverpool will turn things around in the second leg of course one goal is not something impossible right, what is clear is that Liverpool will advance to the next round. In another match, for Tottenham I think the chance is gone even though there is still a second leg match they are 3 goals behind Atletico Madrid which of course the situation is a bit difficult, yeah Tottenham really need a miracle to turn things around.

They were able to work several balls across the lines especially with the introduction of Murphy and Gordon in the second half. They created well enough chances but, didn’t have anyone to finish it until Barnes got on top their last chance. Murphy missed on one too and as Barcelona would have it, their last minute penalty saved them.

Atletico Madrid 5 Vs Tottenham 2 FT
Very surprising score line, a battle of 2 teams that gets results out of the blue and this time around Atletico Madrid surprised again, not because they won but because they scored lots of goals. Same thing they did to Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey first leg, almost finishing off the tie in the first leg. They game already had 5 goals in just 26 minutes of play. Tottenham will really have a mountain to climb when they play the return, it almost going to be an impossible mission because I don't see Tottenham outplaying Atletico Madrid to the extent that they wouldn't score even if it's a goal against them.

Newcastle giving their best to stay alive in the champions league game against Barcelona who are in good form and also the league leaders of the la Liga, is just a good thing to see Newcastle face more stronger teams in the champions league. Barcelona need to avoid all these high line they play every week if not what happened to Qarabag FK will happen to them tonight...more goals to be scored but who's going to be the winner, could there be a surprise just like what Chelsea did to Barcelona?

Newcastle are 12th in the Premier League with a goal difference of -1, on paper this should be an easy win for Barcelona, ​​but yes, Barcelona is not stable and the team does not have a good defense. You ran out of patience in a very crucial point of this match. Yamal scored an equalizer for his team with the last minute penalty, sharing the points equally and giving them a headstart, with an aggregate goal against their 2nd leg. The UCL is no joke. I didn't expect Newcastle to be an easy opponent, but a straight win would have been disastrous for Barca.

So Bayern and Atletico are almost guaranteed to go through to the next stage and only a disaster could save Atalanta/Tottenham from dropping out.
On second thought, I wouldn't write Tottenham off just yet. They will have a home advantage in the rematch and if they manage to overcome the current dip in performance, they still have a fighting chance. They would have to take a risk and start super-aggressive from the first whistle. I wouldn't be betting any money on them though.

Liverpool disappointed a bit today, but I still see them as a favourite.

Barcelona looked a bit pale against Newcastle. Usually, they dominate in ball possession by a high margin, but tonight it was almost even. Unfortunately Newcastle bottled the win. Lamine Yamal scored a late minute goal to end the game in a 1-1 draw. Still not the result one would expect from this match. Newcastle played really well and were obviously the better team tonight. As a neutral, I’d have to say the referee was horrible and so was the referee in the Atletico Madrid - Tottenham match.

Barcelona was lucky as a result of the last minutes penalty else Newcastle would gladly end the match with a victory likewise the first goal scored was disallowed for offside purpose, I’m impressed Newcastle challenged Barcelona to an extend penalty was the only hope.

They couldn’t manage the clean sheet but, they were able to end the game on level terms with Barcelona. Yamal took such a clean penalty for a pressure moment.

Tottenham Hotspur and Atalanta just came to this round to concede a lot of goals, Atalanta conceded 6 goals and Tottenham Hotspur was 5 goals, next final match is certain of many goals to them, wining with one or three goals from this two clubs will not still qualify them because five and six goals has short the door for them. Barcelona and Newcastle United hasn't gotten an advantage against each others because they're equal and waiting for the next winner to emerge. Galatasaray and Liverpool has something big ahead, Galatasaray has first won them but one goal is not a hope to think of being enough because if Liverpool won with two they will qualify.

The goals came too late. If there had been an earlier goal, maybe we would've watched a different match. Yeah I'm still annoyed that I didn't watch the Bayern or Atletico match.
In the end Barca got the score they wanted. They will go through at home. Newcastle didn't play too bad at home, but they won't be able to play like this away. The atmosphere will be very different there. The last minute penalty also upset them even more. If the match ended 0-0, they probably wouldn't be this disappointed. Conceding in last seconds after taking the lead had a much more devastating effect.

Newcastle didn't like they an english team. They perform below average against barcelona and they had a home of supporter but couldn't beat barcelona. I thought they would win the match for scoring late and before I knew it yamal equalize the game by  penalty. Newcastle couldn't dominate barcelona at home,they missed chances and that was what anger me the most. Yes Barcelona is likely going to beat newcastle at home because in camp nou they would play in their strongest form and newcastle united may fall to a defeat.

Liverpool in the Champions league has a decent performance

Something that looks pretty good always has a bit of mystery behind it. See, Liverpool lost, and just like I said before, if Galatasaray managed to score early in that match, the home side would have a really big chance to win. Liverpool just don’t seem to have a great mentality when playing away.

If Galatasaray is able to win this game, it's going to be a big setback for Arne Slot's job at Liverpool because now management patience is going to be almost at an end while they also have the fewest chances to have a spot in the next Champions league.

Even though Liverpool lost this match, it won’t really worry Arne Slot. Believe it or not, Liverpool will bounce back in the second leg at Anfield and go through to the next round.

In the current position, the two teams have performed in such a way that the game was tied for a long time, towards the end of the game, Barcelona got a penalty opportunity and was able to bring the game to a draw. Most certainly a draw, it’s the most they could get and they got it anyway, despite Newcastle scoring a late goal that made it seem like the game was up for Barcelona before they hand that late penalty.

Atletico Madrid on the other hand made good use of Tottenham. It was one hell of a quick start, getting 3 goals in less than 20minutes or even 15 minutes, that was intense from Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool’s lose to Galatasaray wasn’t a very surprising one but, Galatasaray being able to score an early 7 minutes goal and was able to hold it down to the final whistle, that’s one way to go.
