As if you are too pessimistic about Real Madrid, even though some of their core players will miss this game I still believe Real Madrid will overcome Man. City in this match. considering Real Madrid will benefit this time from playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, I think the Bernabeu will rumble and will support Real Madrid until the end of the game regardless of the outcome.

It was a great game, successfully holding Manchester City without conceding a goal. I had my doubts, but in the end Madrid didn't waste any opportunities. Overall, it was a great game, all the players performed well, just as we expected. Even though they are leading 3-0, that doesn't mean the job is done. They have to maintain this lead in the second leg.

They did.... And Vini jr missed a penalty too, maybe you didn't watch the early moments of the second half. They did well to tame Guardiola's boys.
 PSG on the other hand humiliated Chelsea today. Chalobah want at his best today at all, I was almost looking for him throughout the game, the Chelsea keeper too at some point became a PSG player, maybe Rosenir would stop gambling such important matches with the second keeper, Sanchez would've distributed the ball better than him. Today isn't for Chelsea at all and return leg would be harder for them with a 3 goal deficit.

What a poor performance from the English side in the first leg of the round of 16. None of them was able to win their match. This isn't telling good about the English side despite having the highest number of clubs that made it to the knockout stage. Both Manchester City and Chelsea is automatically out of the competition. Only Arsenal has hope of qualifying to the quarter finals.

Liverpool is still a bit better than both Manchester City and Chelsea. Both Manchester City and Chelsea were beaten badly. What a bad performance from Man City side who has find it difficult to secure just a goal. Man city performance this season is just too low. If Man City is eventually pool out from the Champions league, then Arsenal will have to play more aggressively so as to remain in the top in the premiers league as City will put more focus now on Premier league.

Asernal 1:1 draw match seems the only good result tonight, Manchester city was defeated even without any goal record in the match a whooping 3 goals from Real Madrid a club that Many predicted to be losing tonight, just like I said earlier, Real Madrid is not the kind of club to meet at the critical time, Manchester city was unfortunate and their collected 3 goals, this is remarkable and well done for Real Madrid and hope that performance can be repeated on the other leagues to recover their lost position in leagues like Li liga.

The English Premier league this season has a bad run. With the way all qualified, I thought they are going to perform better. Let me try to analyse their performance.

Liverpool lost: Although they lost, but they still has a chance in the Anfield, the goals difference is only 1.

Chelsea lost carelessly, I don't think they have a second chance opportunity. Conceding 5 goals is not a good thing in the champions league.

Manchester city lost shameful that they were unable to get a goal pass Madrid's net.

Newcastle and Arsenal have good chances to save England.

Apart from Manchester City, so many other English teams had very proper formers this time around. Imagine what happened to Chelsea as orchestrated by their goalkeeper. Chelsea is also out. In fact the only England teams that have chances of qualifying to the next phase of the Champions League are;
1. Arsenal

It is really so unbelievable that none of the Premier League teams could win their match in this first leg. Tottenham lost to Atletico Madrid by 5:2, Chelsea lost to PSG by 5:2 and Manchester City lost to Real Madrid by 3:0. I'm even wondering what the fate of the teams that have the chances of qualifying for the quarter finals would be because i don't trust Liverpool and Newcastle, the only team that has possibility of moving to the next phase is Arsenal. This is a wakeup call to the Premier League teams because they produced the highest number in this Champions League season, 6 teams in that matter.

We all know Liverpool haven't played well this season. Their Premier League performance is really bad; it doesn't matter how you played last season because you're failing this season.
Everyone expects Liverpool to beat Galatasaray. But Galatasaray played well in the first match and took advantage of the opportunity. They had to win at home, and Galatasaray managed to do it.
With the atmosphere at Anfield, Liverpool will win the next match. They've been drawn against one of the easiest opponents to get past

Whatever it is that will happen at Anfield in the second leg, Galatasaray has done so well this season, for the past 12 years the club hasn't made it this far in the Champions league. However, Liverpool feel like they weren't favored in yesterday's game, I watched where their equalized goal was canceled, between that wasn't a goal, but in the return leg, hopefully Galatasaray would soar to the quarter finals, a result like this will be more interesting to see, than watching Liverpool get to that stage and get trashed later on.

Galatasaray make use of the early goal to secure a win for itself. It was just a surprising match that yesterday as no one expected Galatasaray to beat Liverpool without Liverpool scoring a goal. Well about their next match at Anfield, let's not be surprise if Galatasaray still pull a winning action. An early goal like that of yesterday could still pool another surprise. Liverpool needs to play more better in their next match if they want to qualify to the next round.

Yes Galatasaray is a good club, but at least I expected Liverpool to do better simply because they are more experienced than Galatasaray, and it's obvious that Liverpool is a bigger club. I have no idea why they are not in form this season

I thought it will be confusing to predict who would win between Real Madrid and Manchester City it was indeed confusing because even if you predicted Real Madrid to win you wouldn’t have thought that Real Madrid will score three goals in the first half, Valverde’s hattrick, Manchester city did not score thorough out and Vini missed a penalty to make it 4.

Honestly it’s surprising how poorly all premier league clubs plays in the champions league right now, I was expecting a better performance from both Arsenal and Manchester city, but they performed below my expectations. Arsenal were able to get a draw against Bayern Leverkusen which I won’t say it’s completely bad, the most surprising match is Real Madrid vs Manchester city, I was really expecting Manchester city to win the match, but they ended up losing the match. They conceded 3 goals during the first half alone, honestly am just disappointed with the way Manchester city played today, because I don’t  think there is anything left for them in the champions league.

You forgot to add Tottenham Hotspur, they also lose their match yesterday against Atletico Madrid. This results doesn’t speak well for the English teams and I think they can always get to improve better as long as they’re yet to be eliminated from the competition. All these teams that have drawn their matches really tried and I feel they’re of more likelihood of getting a chance to the next round. If the teams that lost do not do anything better in their second leg of the competition, I think they’ll most likely be eliminated because most of them concede so many goals that may be so difficult to equalize back easily in their second leg.

The way champions league games are going this week is so unpredictable ranging from Liverpool's dramatic lost to Arsenal's unbelievable draw but with all  i think the worst is yet to come as we will be looking forth to see if the worst we talk about will be from the remaining games left. Among all Arsenal's draw is what is getting me confused as before now they where considered the most consistent team in the champions league this season but there inability to prove there supremacy over there opponent in today's game is what I cant tell and they even got the draw through a narrow escape. Which wont have happened if not from there over confidence that they have won the best team in the champions league.

Liverpool and Arsenal played away matches so i don't think it's disturbing to see that happen. If not for penalty Arsenal could have even lost against Leverkusen. The Champions League matches have entered a serious stage, you will be seeing surprising results because almost all the teams wants to advance to the quarter finals if not that teams like Tottenham and Atalanta lost woefully to their opponents yesterday which has slimmed down their chances of reaching the quarter finals. For Arsenal match against Leverkusen, Arsenal made a lot of mistakes and they didn't really play with their full energy and i think it could as a result of fatigue that came from their FA cup match against Mansfield.

I can't believe that Real Madrid is winning Manchester City by 3:0 in the first half because the bookies gave them bigger odds simply because Mbappe is not featured due to injury. Bodo/Glimt has also scored 2:0 against Sporting Lisbon, they are becoming dangerous honestly. PSG is winning Chelsea by a score of 2:1.

So because there are in an away game is it enough reason  not to play with full potentials or even do what they are supposed to do in the games, in the games we are talking about especially Liverpool,  they reluctantly played as if they had nothing in mind before  coming for the game. Be it home or away a team is not supposed to be reluctant the way they where on that game which was why Galatasaray where able to capitalise on thee weaknesses to secure a first half goal that lead to there final whistle win.  Although I wont write off Galatasaray's performance in and out side champions league  even as Liverpool where considered favourites to win

I agree that making that noise before that match against PSG is not the smartest way to gain respect. The CWC was no precursor or indicator for what will happen in any of the upcoming important matches between those two teams.

PSG was on another level this time and Chelsea now has a problem to solve that is close to impossible. A 3 goal difference against a team that is one of the best in counter attacks and has the quality to control the ball over long periods of time, it is less than 5% chance I think.

Yeah the premier league teams for all the boasts of fielding six teams in the knockout round they haven’t been able to live up to their hype. Newcastle played a good game though but were unfortunate at the end, Arsenal game was an unexpected turn of events for me maybe they’ll do better in the next leg. I was only looking at the shameful performance of conceding so much goals, and didn't even realise the worse. It really has been long that English teams had this type of poor performance.

Just Imagine out of 8 teams that qualified for the round of 16 automatically, 5 teams are from England Premier League, it was only Newcastle that passed through the playoff round but still they survived and make it 6 England teams in the knockout stages but just take a look at their performance. At least since they are 6 teams, i was hoping for two England teams to reach the finals just as it was in the Europa League last season when Tottenham and Manchester United played the finals but with what i have seen in this week's Champions League games, i don't even think if 2 England teams can reach the semifinals talk more of to reach the finals.

Real Madrid is occupying the 2bd position in the La Liga with a 60 points, not so bad and yet not so good like we know Real Madrid to be, but sincerely with their winnings recently and tonight in the championship, this looks very favorable for the club to be able to recover knowing how they have come below clubs like Barcelona in the La Liga, but this time I believe the remaining time in the season will be a surprising events for most of us of what we may be seeing most top clubs lost their match today which gives other clubs like Real Madrid a big shining record tonight.
