After all, if teams are really best, they will pass no matter the format, but for me its positive thing for football to see small teams like Bodo beating Inter, and that's one of the reasons why people love football.

I don't believe that this format favors the creation of new teams but only gives more trouble to the existing ones, clearly to move on to the next phase the success must be deserved and this is a fact, there is no passage to the next round if things have not been addressed in the right way, so i say that those who love football hate all the bodies that make absurd changes.

valverde's performance has been quite good in recent weeks. as real madrid's captain, he proved he is truly in form with his incredible hat-trick last night. the goals he scored were no ordinary goals either; in particular, i thought the first goal he scored yesterday was a top-class goal.

That's the point of the change, to make it so that bigger teams have something to play for until the end of the group stage, and not just secure the 2nd round after 3 rounds and then play rest of the games with subs.

Arsenal’s performance last night was far from impressive and tbh they were lucky to get a point. I’ve got to give credit to Arteta tactical brilliance in bringing in Madueke. Star boy just had a very poor game today, I can’t say I blame him. He’s battling injuries yet expected to perform at his best. I hope to see Saka fit next season. He’s done so much for the club in the last 6 years, I hate to see him like this now especially when pundits and fans want to criticize his performance.

They rescued one point that is very important for the next match as they will return to their home stadium with a task of winning and moving to the next phase, quarter final. If they had lost in the first match, their task would have been more complicated and harder in the second match but Arsenal did not let it happens. They tried hard for equalizing the first match result and got it eventually even with a very late goal.

It's not a good and impressive match from Arsenal but in this season, they had many similar matches while they got results that are enough for them to go far in UEFA Champions League and still at a first position in Premier League. This shows Arsenal's strong mentality and good ability important goals in late minutes for either a point or 3 points.

I thought Real Madrid would struggle in the first leg as they  had to play without their best squad due to the injury crisis they had already faced. However, it turned out  that my assumption was wrong because the opposite happened,  with Real Madrid playing comfortably, while Man City struggled to build their attacks. There is still the second leg, but I don't think Man City has  much of a chance, even though they have the advantage of playing at home. Real Madrid certainly do not have a strong defence, and it is possible for Man City to score, but that  could also be meaningless if Real Madrid can score a goal in return, and I think they are capable of doing that (especially if Mbappe is back on the pitch).

Well Pep caused this to himself, look at his wingbacks, O'Riley and Kunsanov. He really underestimated Madrid alot, what also annoys me was him starting Savinho , who has just one match wonder against Newcastle, while benching Phil foden, Marmoush and Cherki. They really deserved to lose. I don't think they will pul a comeback against Madrid in the return leg. Because there's no way Manchester City will keep clean sheets against Madrid and Mbappe might also return.This might be the second straight year that Manchester City hasn't gotten to the Quarter final after spending a lot in the January window.

If they couldn't score a single goal at Santiago stadium, I don't expect them to do any better at Etihad with Mbappe and Bellingham back with the squad. I believe most people weren’t expecting Real Madrid to win that easily yesterday. Even if you were expecting them to win, it was not by that margin and as well coming from a single person in the first half of the game. It was absolutely incredible to see Valverde put that up.

I think we can all agree on Real Madrid locking up their defense in the second leg.. All they will need is a counter-attack since Mbappe will be present as well.

The goal Arsenal scored through Kai Havertz's penalty kick was pure luck. They could have lost the first leg if the referee hadn't awarded Arsenal a penalty. And I personally think there was something fishy about the penalty decision, where Madueke appeared to be diving or even I didn't see any rough physical contact between Tillman and Madueke. However the draw has given Arsenal some breathing room for the second leg. They will take advantage of their home field advantage at Emirates Stadium and even play with confidence to defeat Bayer Leverkusen in the second leg. And I'm sure Bayer Leverkusen will be under pressure when  they play away later. But Arsenal shouldn't underestimate Leverkusen as they could still spring a surprise on Arsenal considering Leverkusen still has a good chance of coming back on aggregate. Arsenal's fate is similar to Barcelona's who drew in the first leg. And they will have to fight hard in the second leg.

if they were facing an ordinary team, real madrid might have even tried to widen the gap more in the second leg just for fun. if mbappe plays in the second leg, i think they could still try, but they're facing manchester city. they may have been clumsy yesterday, and their record against real madrid may not be great, but you never know what will happen against a team like that. i don't think real madrid will take many risks in the second match either, but i don't think they'll resort to defensive tactics either. just playing the way they did yesterday should be enough to get them through the round.

It's a possibility because anything is possible in football. Manchester City are a strong team, and their strength is even greater at home. Against Real Madrid, they might be able to score goals that take the game to extra time. Because Real Madrid plays really poorly in some matches. This season, Liverpool has truly become a different Liverpool from the one we saw last season. The team seems to have lost its chemistry or something. even though they are still coached by the same manager, we can see that the team's cooperation is not as good as last season. The reason for all this may be due to the wrong decisions made at the beginning of the season when the transfer market was still open. We know that Liverpool released several of their important players. They brought in new players who couldn't fully replace those who left. Arne Slot seems to still be searching for the perfect combination for the squad he's built. Last season, he was just lucky to continue with the squad depth built by Klopp. I'm also quite pessimistic about Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Liverpool have done better this season than they did before, but honestly i still don't see it 100%.
Bad decisions always lead to a decline in performance, for many reasons such as moving a player from his strong zone, changing roles or simply making him do something he is not inclined to do, forcing creates cracks.

Real Madrid might be struggling this season but they have scored at least one goal in most of their matches. With the calibre of strikers they have, my prediction is that they will score in Etihad. It will be difficult for Manchester City to reduce the deficit because Real is also an attacking side.

I was wondering what Thiago was thinking when he was carelessly holding the ball close to the goalpost. That ball would have been cleared because a corner kick or a throw-in would have been safer. I don't want City to move to the quarterfinals.
