If you watched this match from the first half, you will question how this Barcelona vs. Tottenham game managed to end with a scoreline of 7-2, seeing how Tottenham Hotspur started by equalizing a few minutes after Barça scored. The first few minutes into the first half were just like a clash of the titans between the two teams. This  isn't just a humiliation to the Tottenham football club but a disgrace to the English league. Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Tottenham all suffered a humiliating defeat home/away in this season's Champions League competition for a very long time.

Well, the match was an action pack especially the first half that was very intense, at one point, I really doubted if Barca would pull through because of there defensive wobbles after Eric Garcia was subbed off for Araujo because of a suspected injury. But the second half proved otherwise and Barcelona just couldn't stop scoring. Even the ref had enough that he didn't even add an extra time to the final match time.

But overall, even though Newcastle lost, Lewis Hall really did play exceptionally.

It's halftime, and Liverpool is currently leading by a goal. They would have made it 3 at halftime if Salah had converted two good chances. A Galatasaray player made a backpass, which he pounced on, and yet couldn't find the back of the net. Then Liverpool was rewarded with a penalty, which he missed. I just hope these chances he has missed will not come back to bite them in the face.

Today is looking like a better day for Liverpool despite Sallah missing penalty and a clear chance in the first half.

It’s now 4-0 at Anfield, Sallah finally scored one goal to make it four for Liverpool, I don’t think Galatasaray have hope in this game because the stadium is already crowded with Liverpool fans, they will hardly get a single goal in this match; and we might expect more goals from Liverpool before the end of the game.

Bayern Munich extended their lead to 3-0 to cripple Atalanta’s hope completely; while Tottenham is still struggling to see if they can make it despite conceding a lot of goals in the first leg. I don’t think Tottenham is going to make it to the next round.

I expected Barca to win but 7 goals were really extra. Newcastle United were completely blown away. The first half was actually quite balanced, but they fell apart in the second half. Playing at Camp Nou isn't easy for any team. When Barca play with their ideal lineup they are very hard to stop. When Raphinha, Yamal and Lewandowski are all on the pitch together, it gives off MSN vibes. This team is really enjoyable to watch. Let's see how far they can go.

What happened at Camp Nou tonight wasn't just a football game... It was torture, humiliation, and also, a warning to other teams that they're going to face in their next games, and I guess it is likely to be Atletico Madrid. I actually expected Newcastle to pull up a big fight, and they actually did in the first half, but the second half took a different turn when Barce eventually remembered who they are and what they can do.


As it stands, both Bayern Munich and Liverpool are currently trashing Atalanta and Galatasaray respectively. In this RO16, we're seeing teams that are literally taking their games personal. You post sounds a little bit rude, Tottenham lost this because of the first match and it was a drama to say the least. I think they are doing ok, and eventually Atletico would have probably won anyway, but their moral would be much different today if they didn't lose the first match the way they did. That was demoralizing to the maximum I think and too bad this happened in a UCL match because the impact so huge.

The match today was and is still a coin flip as Atletico is too good and has great timing with their counter goals. It took the breath from Tottenham to keep going every single time they took the lead.

The game is Live right now. Real Madrid leads 1-0 and with an aggregate of 4-0. The game will be an easy win for Madrid and they will advance without a problem. The game is on at ettihad. I already knew that Real Madrid is going to win Man City. In fact I told someone that man city is not even going to score a goal. I was very sure of what I was saying because Manchester City missed their opportunity to qualify in the first leg. I was actually not supposed to watch the match because I already know that Real Madrid is going to qualify, satisfy my curiosity, I still had to watch the match. But immediately Silva got red carded and Vini Junior concerted the PK, I switched off my TV to focus on important things. It's over for City.

I would have opted to watch Chelsea match, but seen that there are 2 goals done already demoralized me. Maybe I will have to consider watching Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen, that would be the interesting match to watch.

To be fair, even though City were down to only 10 men in the first half, they somehow managed to make it an even game. I think the game proved my argument that Doku is extremely underrated in this Manchester City team.

Tottenham really a long way to getting a good team that can play competitively both in the league and in Europe, Giving up a lead which I expected to maintain till the end of the game is bad. Even though Tottenham will be leaving the champions League I expected that, Tottenham should win this home tie and leave with pride. Tottenham losing or even drawing this game at home will not be a good result to me knowing that they lost the first game with a large margin.


Tottenham has not really found a good coach that will handle the team, the club management has been able changed different coaches thinking that it was going to work out but, things has not worked out well. Tottenham has to do a total overhauling of there entire team if they are to play well come next season. They needs to invest more in good and quality players and coach.

I don't know what happened to Newcastle in the second half that they lost their bearing to the point of conceding four goals without replying back any. The second half was in a big favor for Barcelona as they were in full charge of the game and got four goals easily. This is a big win for Barcelona at home because they dismantled Newcastle.

Or we can say that Barcelona approached the match with a more aggressive and tactical team this time, scoring such huge amounts of goals combined, this is one of the matches in the Champions League with the highest amount of goals scored, and Newcastle was overwhelmed tonight.

Yes even though they are indeed in the English premier league being in a very dangerous situation in the standings with the threat of relegation but we should separate that, tonight's match with Atletico Madrid I saw Tottenham much better than the first leg match which suffered a much bigger defeat, tonight's match they can at least hold the score to a win with a score of 3-2, although not getting a win at least they are not like the first leg which is worse than the second leg.

In the end Liverpool defeated Galatasaray and the final score was 4-0.
I was really frustrated when Salah failed to convert the penalty - but then we really bounced back in the second half and completed this mission perfectly. Salah redeemed himself and atoned for his mistake by scoring the winning goal in this second-leg match - but I was truly disappointed by his missed penalty in the first half. So - good job, Liverpool. This is what I was hoping for.

He was suppose to be deserving of some credit in this match, but seeing how things turned out to be in the second half, he won’t be deserved of any praise. Newcastle United started well and I think they got relaxed that they were going to give Barcelona a tough time for the qualification or even get to qualify ahead of them. In the second half, you’ll think we got a new leaf turned Barcelona. They were very dominant throughout the second leg and I could not even think less of them as they keep scoring without wanting to stop.

Good ride to Newcastle for reaching this round of the competition, I just hope they’ll do better in the coming year if at all they get to qualify for it again hopefully. They did better the last time they were in the champions league unlike now, I wish them all the best because they’ve shown some strength in this competition even though it wasn’t enough to clamp down on Barcelona.

Tottenham even tried if the cab held Atletico Madrid to a draw at the end of the game; they didn’t loses home an away like Manchester City and Chelsea.
I am disappointed with EPL team’s performance in this round if 16 because the way all the EPL teams that played the group stage qualified to the round of 16, I was expecting at least three to qualify to the quarterfinals but it seems like in Arsenal and Liverpool because even if Tottenham win their game at the end of the game, they will be eliminated because the goal they conceded in the first leg.

Now the match has ended. Tottenham win but got eliminated, Liverpool managed to qualify and they will have to face PSG in the quarterfinals which will be another tough fixture. Bayern qualified, Barcelona qualified, and Liverpool and qualified to the quarterfinal.

I’m very impressed with Liverpool performance today, they looked more like a team that is ready to play in the Champions League Quarter finals, this looks more like a Jurgen Klopp team with a heavy metal football, and they were pressing high and creating chances all over the pitch, I must say it was a good performance, they missed a couple of chances in the first half, but the team was more prolific in the second half and scored some good goals, now I think Arne Slot should leave that possession football and focus on playing a high pressing game with a high intensity, because that is what Liverpool are know for, Liverpool aren’t a possession team, the atmosphere at Anfield today was extraordinary, the players played a good football and they looked determined to progress in the Champions League, now the next phase starts here let’s see how the team prepares for Paris-Saint-German.

They should have shown same seriousness while they were playing the first leg , it’s just a field and not like some magic is attached. They really tried tonight fr but it’s always too late and doesn’t work out for most team.. same Athletico still managed to net two goals while still maintaining the gap .

We can now have the rematch  of Barcelona vs Athletico, i believe the pain is still there and I really want to see how Barcelona handles that in UCL

I commend the Liverpool squad's performance against Galatasaray at Anfield.
I think Mohamed Salah's good form is over. He's no longer worthy of being the mainstay, but Mo Salah's role has shifted to Szoboszlai during Klopp's time.

After a 4-0 victory at Anfield, Liverpool became the second Premier League team, after Arsenal, to advance to the quarter-finals.

It's not entirely true, only Manchester city and Chelsea were the only clubs that suffered home and away defeats in this round of 16. Tottenham won Atletico Madrid at home today. So they won at home and lost at away, while Newcastle drew against Barcelona at home in the first leg and lost at away.
As for Barcelona and Newcastle match, one thing about Barcelona is that they won't come to you with defensive approach, you will score and they will score. But it's a matter of who will score more. When playing Barcelona at home it's only clubs that have enough striking power upfront that can match Barcelona energy. Newcastle don't have enough creativity in their team to withstand Barcelona and match their scoring ability for 90 minutes at home.

Some of the problems with team with much expensive and experience players is that, once there is a problem with the officiating team like the coach or manager, the efforts of the players won't be seen no matter what since at that time, players will get misdirected instructions that hinder them from getting results in matches, so that is what happened to Galantasarys tonight and Liverpool tok a good advantage of the situation.

Today's round didn't disappoint. We didn't see any surprises in terms of who goes through to the next round, but we surely saw some unexpected results. The average points per game tonight was 5.75, which could be some sort of record.
Tottenham fought a good fight and they got a win, but they still fell short 2 goals on aggregate. I expected Barcelona Vs Newcastle to be a close game, but Newcastle got run over 7-2. Barcelona knows how to use the home advantage.
