Bayern, Liverpool and Atletico made it to quarter finals, so no surprises here either. I watched Liverpool's match and I can easily say they have no chance against PSG in the quarter final. They could've scored more goals today, they created a lot of chances but wasted them mostly.

Right now, I have 4 favorites for the title. Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern and PSG. Interestingly none of them were drawn against each other in the quarter final.

After watching some of the English teams being eliminated in the round of 16 it shows that even if they allow the EPL to produce 8 teams in the champions league they're still going to drop before the quarter finals. Well, aside from Arsenal that did well I have to say that I enjoyed how Liverpool played in as much as we see them as a team without control when it comes to games in the EPL and this performance against Galatasaray is the best I have seen since the beginning of this year in all competitions, is like they're going back to their old ways of play, fast counter attacks with a productive end. For me Galatasaray wasn't match for this game, they were terrible tonight and is best they were eliminated because if they advanced to the next round it will be worse, let the strong hands play the quarter finals. This is the kind of performance Liverpool fans need to be seeing every week in the EPL..

‎i expected Lots of intensity in this game and Barca delivered it in fine style. The game looked balanced at first, until then Barca figured out a way, switched it up and the goals started pouring in.

In the first half, Barcelona were playing exactly what Newcastle was used to and what they wanted. They wanted that end-to-end intensity football, and Barcelona gave them that. That was why they were even to equalise twice. Towards the end of the first half, Barcelona decided to stop doing that. They decided to control the game more and stop playing an all-out attack every time they get the ball. It was at the point that they won the game because Newcastle couldn't even get the ball, and when they did, Barcelona won it back easily.
The win was expected, even though I expected Newcastle to put up a better fight. Barcelona is clearly the better team; people were just anticipating Newcastle to do something because it's football, and anything can happen. Ordinarily, Newcastle is not a team that should give Barcelona any issues.

I mean, premier league teams have always being a dominant side in these leagues and that was evident in the many premier league sides that made it to the knockout stage and then, they started fumbling. Just imagine the scoreline from the first leg, it was terrible. Only Arsenal were able to show promises although, Liverpool was able to redeem themselves tonight.

Newcastle on the other hand, there was nothing to note them for tonight, after that scoreline. You begin to conceive the idea of Barcelona just having to toy with them in the first half and gave them just the result they wanted, a draw. Only for Barcelona to humiliate them in the return legs and the scoreline just makes you sick in your stomach.

Barcelona's victory may not have been unexpected for anyone, for some football fans or Barcelona fans, Barcelona's victory over Newcastle was almost certain. But the final result was certainly not expected by anyone. I was sure of Barcelona's victory, but their scoreline was much higher than I expected. It was thought that in the match we will see both teams fighting and Barcelona will win by 2 goals or 3 goals. Or both teams will score a lot and we will see 4-5 goals from Barcelona. But 7 goals surprised me a lot.

Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals where Barcelona has a good chance to take revenge, Barcelona still has not forgotten the pain of the semi-final defeat in the Copa del Rey. Even though every match in the quarter-finals will be very exciting, maybe the Sporting vs. Arsenal matches will not be as exciting. The quarter-finals should be easy for Arsenal.

This was a show match, Barcelona didn't take all the chances they had. This could have been worse and when you see the result, it seems that this as the worst of all possible results. Newcastle got lucky I think in two moments of the match and Elanga did his job and scored those 2 goals, but normally Newcastle would not get the chance to set the match to a draw. It was two moments when Barcelona wasn't awake and made mistakes. Yamal made mistakes too because he could have scored more goals, but didn't. It was the right team to go to the next round of the UCL.

I think Barcelona's coach was nervous when Newcastle came back, but the result was misleading. Barcelona was so much better that Newcastle never had a chance. The result suggested otherwise, but the team that deserved it the most is now in the next round.

I think the most interesting match now is Real Madrid versus Bayern Munich.

I agree with you but I will say that the clear favourites are Arsenal and Bayern Munich, apart from these two, every other teams have equal chances. And if I am to say again, I am not going to write off Liverpool. Last season, they were clear favourites before they were eliminated, it might be that this is their season. No matter how poor Liverpool is playing, we are not going to write them off.

Another surprise might be Real Madrid. People clearly wrote Real Madrid off against Manchester city but we saw how Madrid won home and away. Now we are writing them off against Bayern Munich. We shouldn't be in haste to do that, let's see if they can pull surprises against Bayern.

I never thought that two English Premier League clubs would make it to the quarterfinals.  Liverpool's win over Galatasaray was a plus for the League. The exit of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle is disappointing but EPL fans should be grateful that they still have two representatives. The Spanish League seems to be the most outstanding at its level. They still have three of their best sides.in contention for the trophy. This might be where the average clubs will be knocked out. Hopefully, EPL's two representatives will do well.

Liverpool have been very terrible this season, and their performance against Galatasaray was a huge improvement, when you look how terrible they’ve been playing in previous games, most especially in there last 4 games they’ve struggled to win, but there was an improvement in their game against Galatasaray.

Liverpool will be playing Paris-Saint-German in the Quarter Finals comes in the next two weeks, it’s a repeat of the last round of 16 last season which Liverpool was eliminated on penalties, this season I’m not confident on Liverpool playing PSG and it might just be a very difficult game for Liverpool, and it might be a very terrible and frustrating game for Liverpool, if they don’t improve with their performances.

‎I couldn't even recognize Newcastle in the second half of the game; They lost total control on how to restructure their formation. ‎Once the Fourth goal went in, the game was over for me. The rest was just total damage to their esteem. How do you challenge Barcelona to a draw in Camp Nou? How?!

Agree. Although I had bet on barcelona to win , I still thought the match would be competitive. Newcastle were  able to perform quite well  in the first leg match. They were able to build a strong defense against barcelona.

Anything else is possible, including a draw like we experienced, except defeating Barcelona at the Camp Nou; not saying it's entirely impossible, but damn... You know how good you need to be to bag such a win, especially in the UCL elimination stage?? Not easy. Newcastle played exceptionally well, but the Catalonia side focused more on breaking down their tactics.

But today's match  was completely one-sided. Barcelona scored  7 goals. This is the most goals in any match in the round of 16. There is no doubt that Barcelona performed outstandingly. Newcastle players tried to defend. They completely failed.

Are you sure we didn’t have any real surprise?….. Did you see the Barcelona vs Newcastle first half …. It was bang for bang and Newcastle was having their fun thinking it’ll be all rosy… I’m sure no one saw the game ending in 7:2 for Barcelona.
Even the Liverpool game surprised me, I was expecting Galatasaray to put up more of a fight, Liverpool just ran riots on them even after Salah missed a penalty.

Barcelona secured their place in the next round with an incredible scoreline against Newcastle. Newcastle United conceded a staggering seven goals away from home. Barcelona’s magnificent performance in this match will strike fear into their opponents. You are right, Newcastle players expectations was that they will want Barcelona to play the way they did at the first leg. They don't know how big camp nou is , if you run too much, you get tired easily. If you see the second half, Newcastle players were already tired, and couldn't make fast runs again. Going against Barcelona at camp nou like that is very risky, they will control every passes. Raphina banging two goals and assists is what I loved yesterday.
