The other day i was seeing a info about Arbeloa was the first Real Madrid coach to lose 5 games so early since he is in charge, but when i read the names of the teams all of them were super low tier teams, like Getafe, Albacete, Mallorca, and start to think to myself, damn this guy lose against the most weaker ones and wins against the strongers like Manchester City, so if im Bayer Munich im not gonna be comfy with that.
So what does that have to do with facing Bayern Munich? Will they lose because Bayern Munich is stronger than the La Liga team that managed to beat Real Madrid?
The Champions League is different from domestic leagues. Logically, a team that loses to a side like Mallorca is likely to lose against a powerhouse like Bayern, but that’s not necessarily the case because Real Madrid’s motivation will be different when their only remaining hope lies in the Champions League, since they’ve been eliminated from La Liga and other domestic competitions. If they’re also eliminated from the Champions League, it means we won’t see Arbeloa on the sidelines with Real Madrid next season.
Some people are yet to come to terms with the fact that Real Madrid plays with a different tempo and mentality whenever they're playing in the UEFA Champions League competition. They didn't become 15-time champions by chance. Losing to Mallorca isn't a yardstick to predict how Alvaro Arbeloa's men will fare against Bayern Munich tomorrow if you ask me. I expect to see a different Real Madrid tomorrow and I'm very optimistic that they'll beat Bayern Munich or at least get a fair result
Madrid has indeed had many shortcomings this season even with new coach Albeloa unable to find a solid lineup. This was evident in the domestic league where Madrid desperately needed a win to maintain their hopes of competing with Barcelona, but they suffered a shocking defeat against Malorca. Given these shortcomings, it's understandable that people are so worried about Madrid against Muchen, especially since Muchen is currently in good form especially in terms of goalscoring. In terms of quality, Muchen currently outperforms Madrid and I'm sure even bookmakers will favor Muchen to advance to the next round. But for those of us who know Madrid, especially when they play in the Champions League their poor domestic form is no benchmark.

We don't need to talk about the past that led Madrid to win 15 Champions League titles, as that's too far away. Instead, let's look at the more recent match like Madrid vs Man City. In that match, Madrid was not favored even though they faced a limited squad due to several injured players. However, they pulled off a surprise victory over Man City, even in both legs. This also applies to facing Munich in the UCL quarterfinals. Don't underestimate Madrid as they have a strong UCL DNA.

You have raised a good point why Bayern Munich should be careful with Real Madrid, but even as I want Real Madrid to knockout Bayern Munich from the Champions League I know it won't be easy for Real Madrid to beat Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich has good frontline, and since Real Madrid backline isn't that strong, Bayern Munich might have their way on Real Madrid so easily.
Bayern's attack is very aggressive and fast, they do high pressing, which can put pressure on Real Madrid's defense, but this does not mean that Bayern Munich will be able to dominate easily. And Real Madrid's defense is not so weak that they will easily win against Real Madrid. One thing to keep in mind is that Real Madrid is the most successful team in the Champions League and they are more skilled in handling pressure situations than any other team. So I am optimise that Real Madrid will win in the first leg.

PSG vs Liverpool is gonna be the easiest game to predict. The odds is also saying it all. PSG is a strong as City, and i think they will batter Liverpool at home. I won't be surprised Liverpool to lose with at very least two goals. You know Dembele, Doue and Kvarat are all fit. It's gonna be another disaster for Liverpool.
So i think it's very wise to pick PSG to win. The odds is also quite tempting, which is around 1.75. It's gonna be easy profit for sure.

Other than it i also see so many Liverpudlians are ready to get hurt again. They clearly have very low expectation over their club after a painful result against City. Is there someone in the same boat with me? Grin

This is the easiest bet on PSG, I wrote this as soon as the odds were listed, then they were 1.8+, but even now they look very profitable. Liverpool are in terrible shape and I think half of their chances that the bookies/crowd "take into account" is just their brand. PSG should win the first game by 1.5-1.8 goals, so I'm currently deciding between making a simple bet on them or a more daring one with a -1 handicap.
As for Liverpool fans, I think they are thinking more about Slot dismissal than about potential titles this year.

Real Madrid is a Champions League team they understand the competition more than every other team that has been the reason why when you don't expect them to do much they step up with a different performance which has always helped them defeat their opponents when they are not performing well. This time around they will be playing a good team Bayern Munich it's going to be different game not like Real Madrid's performance against Mallorca and if Bayern Munich underestimate them because they think they are no longer strong then it's going to be a big defeat for them.I expect a very good game but Real Madrid still has the advantage at home.

From my observation, both teams are doing well currently, and both teams' attackers are playing aggressively. So, as for me, I am expecting a good result. But as of now, I can’t actually say one team is better than the other because both are performing well in the Champions League. It is only in the domestic league that Real Madrid slipped up in their last match. Otherwise, they have kept a good record in the Champions League, as they are playing well and getting good results. So, I just feel that it will be the lucky team that wins this match, but it is not going to be easy for either side. Let’s wait and see what is going to happen. At the end of the first leg, we will have a clearer idea of each team’s form.

You are right both teams have tried to get to this stage in the champions league which means they are doing well in the champions league but in overall that is both champions league and domestic league, it is only Bayern Munich that is doing the thing and Real Madrid is not in a good form despite winning in the champions league to this stage but whether they are inform or not I don't think Bayern Munich will mess with them anyhow because they are both big teams. What do you mean you are expecting a good result and what do you think is a good result in this game?

Quarter finals begin tomorrow, with so many entertaining matches.. Real Madrid will be facing Bayern Munich and I think the outcome is a tough one to predict. They happen to have more injured players than Bayern, but the thing is, Harry Kane is also on injury so I'm wondering how effective that attack will be against a team like Madrid. It's a bit scary as a little break in attack can create a loophole, making Arbeloa's strategy more effective, giving them a leverage to explode with goals left, right, centre.

I also think this game is very difficult to predict. Real Madrid always rises to the occasion in big games, especially knockout matches. Even with some injuries, they're a team that usually decides the game when it matters most.

On the other hand, if Bayern Munich doesn't have Harry Kane at 100%, their attack loses a lot of strength. In the end, I think it will be a very balanced game, decided by details; a mistake or a well-taken chance can change everything.

Absolutely, Arsenal will go from here, but among the rest of the teams, I think they are the favorites, that is, I will bet on Real Madrid, but between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, I think it will be the most difficult game. However, the PSG vs Liverpool game will also be exciting. The stronger the opponent, the more fun the game will be. My possible winning teams for this tournament are ---
1. Arsenal (98% win)
2. Real Madrid (90% win)
3. Barcelona (50% win)
4. PSG (80% win)
Note: Everyone has the freedom to express their personal opinions.

I am convinced that in the end it will be Arsenal who have the greatest chance of taking home the title. There are no other teams that have the strength and tenacity and desire to win this title.

There was indeed a certain condescension from Pep Guardiola and his players towards Madrid and Arbeloa. When the final result defeated Man City, his view of Arbeloa took a 90 degree turn. After the match, Pep Guardiola admitted his performance was poor, proving that underestimating Madrid is always a big mistake.

Now who doesn't know Bayern Munich? Their performance in the Champions League is superior, they've proven effective, they always score lots of goals. They're the club most deserving of winning the trophy this season. But history shows they haven't won against Madrid. If they can achieve that in two consecutive matches, it wiil be history.
[/quote

]Yes, i agree, these teams are very conditioned by the coach who, if he is like Pep Guardiola, certainly has the ability to change and overturn the match, Pep's decisions were great when he decided the matches with last minute changes, he could rewrite history again im sure of it

This game is very important for Arsenal and it will.be a very big advantage if they can get a win in the away fixture. Arsenal has just lost 2 straight matches which has not happened to them all season and most people believe they have really dipped in form. It's okay for everyone to think that way, but I believe that Arsenal can still get a result in this game. I still believe so much in Arsenal this season and I will not be surprised if they get this win against Sporting,  although I have to admit that it's going to be a very difficult game.
At this point a good number of persons is actually beginning to have a shakey support for Arsenal seeing their recent performances, even as we know that in the champions league it is definitely  a different thing to expect all together, good a thing you have an unshakeable believe and support for them but then I am just neutral now and just hope for the best for any of the team that does well but then Arsenal will have more of my support.
Losing two big games and having a good number of injuries, still we can't write them off from having a win in coming games against Sporting because they have good players with a good chance of fighting back. Their performance in the Champions League was impressive, and they can give their best again.

Currently, the best 8 European teams are doing their best and have good games starting tomorrow. Prediction is not easy because any team can go through on game day. The first leg game is going to be a challenge for Arsenal, but they will manage to have some good chances in the second leg, which is going to be played at the Emirates. Having a win in the first leg could be a big boost.

It's about time we had more fun in the CL!  Wink

I won't be positive about Real Madrid. They are going to play vs Bayern Munich. I don't see them strong enough to eliminate Kompany's club honestly. We saw it again after that poor result against Mallorca...

Sporting could get a draw at home I think. It depends on how many starters will be ready to play for Arsenal. As you know they are struggling with serious injury issues.

I don't doubt Barcelona and PSG on winning their 1st leg games...

Arsenal is both lucky and unlucky at the same time. They are lucky that they are going to play against a team like Lisbon who is very easy team to defeat normally, doesn't mean they are guaranteed to win, but they should be able to, they are not facing a team that is better. But that also means they will play not only 2 more games, but also possibly at least 4 more games than City, that means fatigue and that means league being at risk.

Normally City should not be this bad, they should be doing better, so when City ends up resting and playing and getting wins, that means Arsenal will be playing twice as many games and they will get tired and that could cause them to lose some games and that could put the title at risk.

When it comes to Champions League do not underestimate Real Madrid, before they play against Manchester City they got defeated by Getafe and everyone thinks they will not beat Manchester City, no one even believe that Real Madrid will score more than two goals in the game and they beat Manchester City both home and away and that shows how dangerous Real Madrid is when it comes to the Champions League, Real Madrid have face Bayern Munich in their last meet and Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich even when they are in good form.

I don’t know what Real Madrid players are turning when they are playing in the Champions League, it will not be a surprise if Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich and many people are going to be shocked, the only thing that can stop Real Madrid from performing well is Arbeloa if he did not start the players he use against Manchester City. Arsenal is playing Sporting CP and to be honest Arsenal will struggle to win the game, with the kind of performance Arsenal is having currently they will not be able to beat Sporting CP easily, Sporting CP performance is very good this season.

I will be betting aggressively on Bayern Munic to win the match because I don't think Real Madrid have the team that can withstand the fire power of the German champions. Judging by their recent matches, we can already see that Bayern Munic will not score less than three goals in that match, something I don't think Real Madrid will be able to fathom. Over 3.5 goals is also another high probability bet on that match because there will definitely be many goals.

That is quite far fetched, but your choice of course to go with a landslide win for Bayern Munich and probably bet on them scoring 3+ goals. I don't think it is impossible, but to me it sounds a bit like a fallacy because Bayern Munich scored so many goals against Atalanta and now on paper it looks like they would have a little training session against Real Madrid. Grin

Those who are not in their teens now, they know that Real Madrid is always a dangerous team to play against. It can go wrong against them very quickly and the Bernabeu stadium has its own history. When the fans lose their minds and Real Madrid scores a goal out of nowhere, it would not be the first time that within second the dynamic of the match is turned upside down.

It could be, but I don't think that Bayern Munich will have a free pass, win the match 0-4 and then 3-0 at home.

I know there will be a lot of doubts for Real Madrid tomorrow night despite playing at home, especially after this club lost to the underdog team Mallorca --- but for me this is different when playing in the Champion League Real Madrid's mentality is re-formed after they lost in LaLiga, so for me Madrid can beat Bayern Munich this is a good opportunity in the first leg compared to the second leg is much heavier.

I agree with you that real madrid has lost the laliga title race because I do not see Barcelona losing up to three games in this eight games that are remaining considering their very good form they are in right now, so it's not wrong to say that their laliga title hopes is gone.
As for the uefa champions league, I think that Barcelona has a better chances of making it to the finals than real madrid because I don't think that real madrid is good enough to go past this Bayern munich they are up against, and even if they manages to do so, I am confident that they will be knockout in the semi finals, so I believe that the finals will be more of Bayern Munich vs Barcelona, than real madrid vs Barcelona.

Honestly, i don't recognize this Real Madrid anymore, is no longer the big and strong one is always been, is clear that not every season can go well but this is a complete failure and there's no way to recover, now they're practically on their last legs and they can't do much against Barcelona anymore.

Since Real Madrid are playing the first leg at home, they will likely play attacking football and try to score as many goals as possible against Bayern to have a cushion for the away match. Whether Bayern will allow Real to play such an attacking game or start playing openly themselves is the part that interests me. However, I still think Bayern will look to catch the Madrid side on the counter-attack in the first leg.

<snip>
The effects of a team’s poor performance in domestic league play are real and can carry over into their Champions League matches, and I believe this situation can happen to any team—Real Madrid included.
But for some reason, I feel that Real Madrid will be different every time they play in the Champions League. From what I’ve seen in the past, when Real Madrid still had Benzema, they played exceptionally well, and luck always seemed to be on their side.

What I’m looking forward to in the match against Bayern is whether luck will be on their side or if they’ll actually deliver an extraordinary performance.

I really understand your perspective regarding Arsenal, and there?s always doubt surrounding them every season. But if we take a deeper look, it?s not really about poor team performance; it feels more like Arsenal lack a true champion?s mentality. Just look at how they often throw away their best chances in away matches, and the same mistakes keep happening over and over again. So it?s pretty clear that Arsenal are hard to predict when playing away, but consistently strong at home.

If Arsenal end up losing the first leg by a big margin, it could seriously damage their mentality and potentially cost them a place in the semi finals.

Arsenal, despite being one of the best teams in the Premier League, is once again considered an outsider and this is not a positive thing. They need to improve it, i don't understand why they do, but they need to improve their position and status as an international team, they can afford it.
