It’s being an interesting game so far, both teams have played being very careful of the next with a deep understanding that, all it could take to win the trophy is just a single goal and these kind of games isn’t one that is accompanied by a lot of goals.

There have being some good chances created. The Senegalese missed a good one on one chance to take the lead in the first half while, Moroccans are playing a little better in this second half, creating chances and El Kaabi have missed dime really good chances to get his team in front. Hope that doesn’t come back to hunt them though.

After a heated full time draw, both teams proceed to the extra time but if no winner at the end of the extra time, penalty shootout will tell who wins the AFCON tonight. Both teams has indeed played carefully but the Moroccan team is more diplomatic and accurate in their shots, they are just unlucky not to have scored before the full-time result. Morocco really prepared for this AFCON and they are trying hard to break the deadlock after many years of not winning the AFCON, the only time they won it was in 1976, someone who was given birth to at that time should be in his 50s now so it's been a long time which is why they are trying everything possible to win it now that they have reached the finals, the last time they reach the finals was in 2004.

No doubt, both the Moroccans and Senegalese players are indeed playing quite an excellent and brilliant game tonight, and I'm really impressed by the game play between both teams, and currently now, there is a choas on the football field right, as the referee just awarded a penalty kick for the Moroccan player, and all the Senegalese players got angry and left the football field, while waiting for the penalty kick to be disallow. So let's watch out to see if will the penalty kick be disallow or continue.. Because right now, I just love the morale of the Senegalese coach. He is such a brave man.

The super eagles is being praised for what I don't really know. They promised us the AFCON medal and it is unfortunately that we could no see them winning but coming up with a third position. I don't know why everytime there is always a problem with the super eagles not meeting up with undesirable positions with plenty of excuses each year.

It is obvious that you don't see anything good from the super eagles, I really do understand why you say this things, actually they told us that they will come back home with the AFCON trophy which they did not but we can not say they did not try their possible best, one thing am very much concerned about is this their near to success syndrome shit, just imagine that type of penalty shoot by their players that made not to go to the AFCON finals, it is unfortunate, the world cup qualifiers was a very big disaster for them and  I do not want to talk about it.

The Super Eagles did their best, but it was still not enough. If you look at that game closely, you will see that they had already forfeited it to Morocco because their performance was not convincing. I don’t even want to talk much about that, because the Super Eagles were supposed to win that game before it got to the penalty shootout, but they failed. So, let’s just face reality and stop blaming them. At least they won third place, even though we know that last season they won second place.

So many dramas and controversial decisions surrounding this Afcon really indicates that they want The host nation Morocco to win the trophy. Not to say that the Moroccan team is didn’t play well enough to earn the trophy but most of the decisions made by the referee especially in the game between Nigeria and Morocco seems to be favorable to the host nation and that really weakens the Nigerian side. I think on a normal level the super Eagles would have easily won that game, they managed to hold on to a penalty and lost in a shootout against the host Morocco, for me i think the super Eagles did exceptionally well in this tournament.

Very interesting things are happening in the Africa Cup of Nations final. Senegal scored a goal, but the referee disallowed it for a foul. I don't think there was a foul in that situation, but the referee said there was.
This match will be remembered for a long time.

Don't be surprised that the referee must have been paid to blow in favour of Morroco and this is not new in football.
We have been seeing this kind of cheating even in the world cup and favouritism is what is killing the world. Corruption is everywhere even in the FIFA board. This match is messed up and it's just too crazy.

What the hell is going on in this AFCONNNNN ?.
Massive controversy and heartbreak already, and we've not even had a winner. This is the biggest drama I have ever seen in football all my life. imo, I felt the referee made a poor decision in cancelling Senegal's goal. The supposed Hakimi's foul was actually a soft one, but the referee saw it worthy enough of canceling the goal. And as for the Morocco's penalty, it was quite an heavy one because there was obviously a drag, but what I have come to realize in this game is that players just intentionally dive/fall to the ground after contact. The decision of the Senegal players to leave the pitch was very understandable because the referee's silly mistake wasn't going to favor them anyways., though a fine from CAF would have been inevitable after that.

Sadio mane was bold enough to call back the boys, and Brahim Diaz eventually missed it anyways. And while typing, Senegal just scored the opener. Well, no matter the side that ends up winning today, I think the MOTM award should be given to ref who wasn't 100% certain with a few decisions.

True... Senegal scores a legit winner disallowed for a soft foul. Seconds later, Morocco gets a VAR penalty for a foul on Diaz. Senegal gets so mad they walk off the pitch! It took a phone call from the King to get them back out there to finish the match. Never seen anything like it

Tension is already on the rise and sadly, it will take a good stroke of luck for Senegal to win this one.
It reminds of the last FIFA World Cup finals where Argentina won. I am not making any inference but even blind person can read the handwriting already on the wall.

After the final whistle, everyone becomes nervous, and the judgment of referees often falters. Frankly, Morocco didn't deserve that penalty, and also the Senegalese players shouldn't have leave the match like that as the referee, with the help of his team, is ultimately in control of all decisions and main responsible about everything.

Just a few minutes ago, Pape Gueye scored the first goal for Senegal. Senegal also deserved the victory because they performed brilliantly throughout the entire tournament, not just in the final.

Congratulations to Senegal, and I hope they can maintain their lead until the end.

Wait was Diaz actually trying to play the Panenka penalty style in a final when his not even good at taking penalties in the first place, he just missed the glorious opportunity of taking his team in front when the game was still at 0 - 0 and now Senegal has scored to leave them trailing. It seems like Senegal didn't come to Morocco to joke as they have been so impressive in the entirety of this tournament. Now they have the chance of winning the trophy if they can defend this goal till 120 minutes. Big blow for the host, this was not how they fashioned it for themselves. The referee is indirectly supporting Morroco and it is quite obvious that the referee need to be sanction for taking side in this match. They want to draw the match with Senegal so that they will play penalty at the end of the match.
Africa should wise up and the bad eggs need to be wiped out because this is a degrace.

It's unfortunate how CAF is letting African to be projected in this way from the start of the tournament till now there has been calls by different nations concerning the quality of officiating when it concerns the host nation. But it nothing was done about it. It's really a shame how almost the final of Afcon were almost brought to a bad end due to the decision from the referee.



CAF should investigate some of these calls from the referee because there's no way everyone will be crying about a thing and you are not concerned about it. Thank God that Senegal won if not many will not have taken this year's Afcon seriously but great performance from Senegal they deserves this win.

Congratulations to Senegal for winning their second AFCON in just 4 years. Lots of people thought Morocco and Nigeria were the better team but they forgot the silent killer in the tournament Senegal. They didn't announce themselves as much as the host Morocco and Nigeria did but they are silent achievers and I took note of them. No much goals scored, no drama just play their football, win and go to the next opponent. This trophy is truly deserved despite what the Moroccan did to them before the final.

This is the most hilarious AFCON final, all the drama started from the time referee blowed penalty against Senegal after visiting the VAR but Senegal did not agree that it was a penalty, this wasted more than 10 minutes and all the Senegal decided that it was better they leave while Morocco just get there hosted trophy but after few persons discuss with Sadio mane he decided they would play and accept the penalty but however what happened on the penalty became a mystery because the way the penalty was taking didn't look like a penalty meant to scored because it was like something agreed not be scored so that the final will be fair.

It was a good game until two controversial calls turned things up. The Senegalese goal that got canceled due to a slight push on Hakimi, of course this was up to the referee to decide and given that it came right before a goal, he chose to disallow. Then the second call was the penalty that was awarded to Morocco, right at the verge of the full time whistle. These calls were some really hard decisions to make although, I really do think that was a penalty.

Good thing the penalty was missed and the game proceeded into extra time with Senegal in no time took to the scoring and are now AFCON champions.

And the stroke of luck they needed came. I am so happy for Senegal. If they had not protested, Morocco would have been celebrating their win. They didn't let their spirits get crushed. And I am super happy with the results and more happy that my own prediction didn't happen.
A lot of nations all over the world were tuned in to this finals and it makes sense that they weren't disappointed.
Now, that being said, it is time that the football federation take actions against countries with unruly fans. These uncultured behaviors of fans towards opponent players should not be permitted to continue.

When we talk about African referees we all know that they are not different from the hundreds of Turkish referees that were busted cheating and receiving bribes. When it comes to Morocco being supported by them and you know who is the vice boss of CAF who has also several duties whether in the Moroccan federation or the government, things will be easier to understood.
For real I was supporting Senegal because they were treated miserably by Morocco. Their suffered from the weird decision made about their transportation among other things. Morocco has to respect its visitors and treat them respectfully.

That is one mistake CAF is making, there are matches they are not supposed to use any how referee . However, I think Senegal made a big mistake by trying to leave the match, I don't think I have seen such scenario before. Although at times the referee may not be taking sides but the players maybe seeing it that way. Is just when Nigeria played against Algeria in the quarter finals. After they won there was so many complained from the Algerian side that the referee was biased in his judgement, which to me was wrong. This may not just be about referee but the players mindset.
