From the investigations, it could be deduced that Senegal got a higher fine than morrocco and it made me more curious as to what really transpired during the investigation process.

It is understandable that the Senegalese team got a higher fine because their players actually reacted a whole lot and the coach lost himself in the situation. I think whatever financial punishment that has been deemed okay for them to pay is good, as long as they have not lost the title.

Yes thats true that their players and fans actually reacted, which should not have been so, but the truth is that no team would want to be oppressed by their opponents when it comes to matters as such as that was what Morrocco was trying to do but they resisted it and were not intimidated by it irrespective of the fact that they were on the Morroccan soil. They stood their ground and had to defend themselves first, and also won the trophy and damned the consequences.

Some people don't know how painful it is when you are be rubbed for victory in a football match, Morocco did it to super eagle of Nigeria to qualified for final that made referee to repeat the same thing for Morocco to win the title but Senegal players refused to allow it to happen than to challenge the referee because they know the whole world is watching the final match, Morocco really wanted to use advantage of host to win the title but Senegal players that know how to play penalty took advantage of penalties shootout to win the title.

They are the host nation, and that gives them many priviledges but they misused them in the wrong way, and by right, they are not even supposed to be given any privilege because they are the host nation, and they should be treated like every other nation playing the tournament, but it was too much for them. They did it to Nigeria conveniently, and the Eagles kept them quiet, and they think they could do the same to Senegal. Thanks to the Senegalese players for standing their ground and also winning the trophy; it would serve as a lesson to the Moroccan team and other teams that it does not pay to cheat.

I just saw on Gistlover blog that CAF has placed severe sanctions on Senegal and Morocco. According to the information, the Senegal coach has be banned for five CAF matches and he is to pay a fine of $100,000. Senegal Football Association has been levied about $615k for the misconduct of their staffs, players and supporters. As for Morocco, Achraf Hakimi has been suspended for two matches then the Morocco Football Association was fined $315k almost half of the fine given to the Senegal FA. These are really outrageous amount but do you think that the fine given to Senegal is fair? for me i already knew that Senegal will get the higher fine because of the fact that the coach ordered the players to leave the pitch and they did, that's really a great offense which can attract a severe sanction.

It seems you didn't fully understand the decision issued by the CAF. It's important to note that CAF imposed sanctions in the form of fines and match bans on players and coaches. The heaviest sanctions were imposed on the Senegalese team, as several players and coaches were given numerous match bans. This rule applies only to the AFCON competition. This sanction will certainly be detrimental to Senegal's future AFCON competition, as many of their players will be unable to compete due to the sanctions, and it also tarnishes their reputation as the defending champions.

Okay that's why, I understand now why they had to give him the suspension because that is something football doesn't allow a player to do to another player, the country would survive the two matches without them as is going be on there group stage and is normally very easy for them to qualify but when they would need the both players more is from the quarter finals. Ismael Saibari suspension was more than Hakimi because he would miss three match with addition morning they're going to pay. One thing I learnt during the AFCON is that FIFA representatives were there during the semi-finals down to the finals, which I know after overseeing everything that happened over there, they wont allow such to happen in the FIFA World Cup.

Yesterday, I managed to watch the CAF Champions League, only for me to see that the same pattern of taking a towel from the goalkeeper happened there. It seems it all started from there, and CAF has not done anything to stop that nonsense.

There can be some countries FIFA can favor to win the World Cup, but Morocco isn't one of those countries, so Morocco doesn't have what it takes to bend the referee that will officiate in the World Cup to favor them. For CAF not to condemn, fine, and sanction Morocco for taking Mendy's and Nwabali's towel in the African Cup of Nations is the reason why such scenario happened in the CAF Champions League, because the home team that took the towel of the goalkeeper of the away team knows that CAF won't fine and sanction them for that.

The football body has done their due diligence to the matter by rightly sanctioning both teams in a manner we can say that they are actually fare with. there is a lot of things we can take as positives from this edition of the AFCON and even the fighting spirit is an indication that the tournament is becoming more competitive.

I think from my perspective feel the CAF should do better next time and when over seeing such events wha are you even self because how does it sound hear that it a most for the host to be at the lead, well I think from my own perspective I think football should be a game of fun, it should be treated with love not to mishandling it and cheating this is very wrong it the host are alway entitled to winning all the time it really not make sense.

Now i get your input on the actual matter that transpired and the condition, my thought was if they were giving a choice to made from either the fine or the penalty, i don't know that the sanction comprises of all, which i see that they already applied the necessary justice to all, this will also be a lesson to others, there be must fairness in all we are doing and also consider that he entire world are watching.

It would be difficult for the Confederation of African Football to give a verdict that is acceptable to everybody in this situation; personally, I think Senegal deserved to have a higher fine than Morocco, and the reason is particularly for leaving and trying to abandon the game. That, like I said, was a bad image for African football and should never have happened.

As long as they are not stripped from the title, it is a fair verdict in my opinion; they deserved some sort of punishement for their actions; the same goes for the Moroccan team.

I definitely agree with you because Caf wanted to compensate Morocco for the way that they have been hosting CAF tournaments and so they did everything possible to morroco to have a smooth sailing to the finals. The woman Afcon again is slated to be hosted in Morocco again so you can see the affinity between Caf and morroco. Well the so called sanctions has already been given which also affected the Moroccan at the end of the day. Maybe CAF realized the mistake and dangers that they made by indirectly supporting one team.

So Senegal can comfortably pay the fine from the amount they won as African champions. I also think that Morocco deserves a higher fine and a ban. But it's all good, at least they were humbled.

What were you expecting CAF to do? stop the tournament because of the perceived irregularities? No, it isn't done that way even on professional leagues, it's after a match or a competition that the football association will take actions against any misconduct of players, match officials, teams or them management. The AFCON has already been planned so anything that goes contrary to how CAF has planned it will attract consequences. All of us are even condemning Morocco but are they the one that officiated the matches? we should even blame the match officials instead of the teams.

This recent AFCON tournament was really a messed up the Moroccans were not well behaved at all, and the reason they were not well behaved is because they were so eager to lift the trophy. CAF on the other hand did not also try in the recent afcon tournament because I am pretty sure that they saw her the Moroccans were behaving during the afcon tournament yet the game deaf ears and blind eyes.

Now coming to fine the Morocco team and the Senegal team is just something that is political so that people will shift attention from them and focus I'm talking about the Morocco team and Senegal team instead of talking about them. And it was obvious that CAF was working in favor of Morocco in this recent afcon tournament which is very wrong.

the afcon tournament is not supposed to be political it is supposed to a tournament for fun and  where teams from different countries will come and show their performance and if any the team happens to  outperform the other teams they go home with the trophy free and fair.

I agree with you, the Senegalese coach seeking for his players to leave the pitch was unsportsmanship and against FIFA rules but the thing is, we are all humans and there are limitations as to which things we can take. It's good that Sadio Mane was able to keep his head cool and demanded his players return to the field as the captain, I really commend him for not falling into the trap and forfeiting the match due to the fact that they left the field. The refereeing body favouring the host nation was the genesis of all these problems right from the start of the competition, it was as it the trophy was scripted for Morocco and that's why they were getting away with so many wrong decisions but that script ended with Senegal. I'm even surprised that with everything the Moroccan fans did in the tournament and in the finals, they were still given, team with the best sportsmanship award, that's sickening and shows how corrupt the system is.

Its very shameful that ball boys were attacking a professional footballer and nothing was done about it. I watched a video yesterday where Moroccan fans drew a banana to Stanley Nwabali, the Nigerian goalkeeper. I was so impressed with Stanley's reaction; he picked it up and ate it. He even encouraged them to throw more. Shame on them. This is the reason why they have been rejected by their neighbours and the EU. CAF should also take some part of the blame for its insensitivity.

I hope that the match bans and the fines will serve as a detergent to any team that goes against the CAF regulations because if things like these are left unchecked it will become a bad precedence for future CAF tournaments. Some people are saying that the fine on Senegal, is unfair but walking a team out of the pitch is not a small offence, although it worked out in their favor because they won. I think CAF did the right thing.

These punitive measures taken are a good move to restore the African football league because it could have caused a whole lot of damage and rendered the African league a mere shadow of itself, and lost value to its sister league out there. Although the deed has been done, the measures taken now are good decisions to salvage the situation and mess it has caused, and I believe all teams involved would comply accordingly to show some respect for the African Football Governing body, CAF.
