I just came across this news here now, so I don’t really know if this news is absolutely true or false, but I don’t understand how the Moroccos court is going to sentence this fans, I think whatever would be the case it should come from CAF, because they’re the once who would be in charge of any disciplinary proceedings against the Senegalese fan’s behavior, there is still investigation going on with the Character and attitude of the football fans in the AFCON Finals, and then I will have to say that FIFA doesn’t have anything reasonable to do to justify any disciplinary actions whatsoever, because it was a CAF competition, well I wouldn’t believe there was any property or anything that was destroyed in the Stadium.

Fans unruly behavior is not a new thing in football and many other sports and I don't think that fans have been imprisoned for bad behaviors inside the stadium during a game. The Moroccan government should follow international standards to hand out punishments to the unruly fans, if it is the standard that they should be sent to jail then nobody can fault them but if it's not they shouldn't go to such extreme.

Some people are saying that Morocco, is still bittered about losing the final of AFCON to Senegal, and the sentencing is a payback to Senegal. Except the fans physically injured anybody while the match was ongoing I think that fines alone should be enough to settle the matter. This information that the president of Senegal has sent apology to the king of Morocco, should hopefully secure the fans release since it is minor offenses.

Why are they saying this? Didn't you see the Super Eagles performanc in the African Cup Nations? I think they did very well and even won the bronze medal. Nigeria has the capacity to beat any team they will meet in the Play-Off Tournament. Winning this appeal is giving Nigerians another chance, and I think we should maximize it.

I don’t understand your statement sir, are you saying the NFF allowed the Super Eagles to play badly?. What I only see that caused us not to win is we don’t have a fighting spirit despite all odds were against us, our boys didn’t persevere but that aside they did well at the just Concluded AFCON.
We have to give them that, if not for the circumstances involved and the unpreparedness of our players for the Penalty kicks, the story would have ended differently.

I am surprised that CAF and FIFA couldn't resolve this issue through diplomacy and dialogue. These fans who went to Morocco to support their country will be sent to prison and come out as ex-cons. This is just too hard to believe. It is normal for fans to have altercations with rival fans and security agencies but sending them to jail is going to the extreme. This would have been settled without court convictions.

So it got to the extent of the CAF and FIFA having to solve a situation like this it was really a big shame to them for not settle this issue which Is now leading to taking most people to jail, what was the need to take fans to jail was really a need having to the fans to jail? This now sounding more like injustice to the fans, well feel this issues should have been handled by the government agencies this should have settled the issue…

No my friend it’s not INJUSTICE, it’s Justice maybe it might be too extreme but it has to. It wasn’t just a local match this is the CAF AFCON and at that level, some level of decorum should be exhibited by the fans even if their emotions were spiked. Fans if not regulated can do more damage and if the punishment is not severe, it’ll keep happening till worse things happen. I believe the sentence is to further deter such from happening.

Did you what happened to Rivers United executive recently or some of the dirty news we’ve been hearing from the NPFL about fans attacking players and officials. If there are no punishments they’ll keep happening.

Our players don’t have the fighting spirit and I agree with you on that because when the World Cup qualifiers competition started, they were are not playing very well. It was towards the end of the competition that they started playing very well if they had started playing very well from the starting of the competition they would have qualified in the group stage, but because of lack of inconsistency and the lack of fighting spirit in them, that was why they did not qualify and it is a thing of shame that two World Cup Nigeria has not qualified with all the good players we have that are doing very well in their different club in the world. It is a shame and I’m really disappointed at this players we have right now in super eagles, yes, they tried in the African cup of nation, but still, they did not have the fighting spirit that was why they could win in the penalty shootout.

Let not immediately bring FIFA into this but let ask what the CAF body is doing since it's the body in charge of football tournaments in Africa, like the AFCON. CAF is just a total letdown that they can't call Morocco government through it's country football body to order and make for an end to this disgrace they're setting for African football. It was a fight which led to destruction of the facilities properties, so what happens to the both parties involved in the fight that got some properties in the facilities destroyed ? Because from all indications it's only the opponent fans countries are being punished.

I have seen this same news in some football pages on facebook, and i think the news is absolutely true. I heard that Senegal fans were sentence to prison because of their misconduct in the Afcon final between Senegal and Morocco. Morocco does not have the right to sentence Senegal fans to prison if we follow football rules and regulations because they are not the governing body of African football, and it will be a big slap on the face of CAF if they do not call Morocco to order and ask them to release the Senegal fans with immediate effect.

it's been a rough time for Nigerian football, especially for Rivers United. Their General Manager, Okey Kpalukwu, was attacked by Kwara United fans after a match, and he's got facial injuries. The incident happened when Rivers United scored a late equalizer, and fans threw chairs and bottles at match officials and players.

The NPFL has taken action, fining Kwara United ₦10 million, deducting 3 points, and banning them from playing home matches at their stadium. The club has also been relocated to Abeokuta for their support base..

What Senegal fans did in the Afcon finals is absolutely unwise, and i am against it, but it is wrong for Morocco to sentence some Senegal fans to prison because the offense they committed is not what should get someone a jail term. Most of the promises of the government has never been fulfilled and you expect players to play with all the full skills? This is not possible and this has been happening for years now while the government keep a deaf ear. Sometimes, promises stand's as motivation for players because they feel their efforts are being appreciated by those who made such promises to them but when the promises are not redeemed in time, it weakens the players motivation and they would not be of their utmost best performance because they would feel like not being motivated most especially when it seems that their own allowance is difficult to get after matches. They just play any how because they are not encouraged and they would not regret their actions though.
Although the corruption in the national football body is very alarming and currently there is a rumour circulating that the federal government should remove NFF for the TSA as they seems to be alleged cases of corruption and mismanagement of funds assigned to them and also the leadership of NFF I think should step down for a new leadership to emerge.

Well since you have asked let me quickly inform you on that the Moroccan government are allegedly accusing the fans of destroying their properties which are the stadium facility and it is on this ground that they are charging the Senegalese fans to court which has been ruled for their sentence however the sentence has been appealed but like you said for issues as this CAF should have being  in the proper position to decide penalties to law breaking fans during the AFCON contest but unfortunately all of these seem to be going in a different way.

Okay I get your point now clearer….. it’s not today it started if it’s that one but in all our shortcomings our players have never had that fighting spirit you see with other West African countries like Cameroon and Senegal. I don’t know how many games that we can see we did a comeback for when it mattered most against a formidable opponent.
Maybe because of the poor treatment by the NFF they’re always careful in the way they play, they only give us about 50-70% of their output but give their clubs 101%.

You can say that our players at some point is the reason we did not qualify for the world cup, but it is wrong to say that our players do not have fighting spirit because if that is true there is no way our players could finished in the second place in their world cup qualifying group and qualified for the world cup playoff when they were far behind South Africa and Benin in points. Injuries was the reason the super eagles were not playing very well when the world cup qualifiers started but when their injured players returned back, they improved their performance and fought to make it to the world cup but they could not achieve it.

FIFA didn't just want to be an author of confusionist, they just went straight to the jugular. Well we wouldn't have done better I. This world cup, our performance has been on an average level. Let's just prepare and make sure we qualify for the next round, it would take us a long while because four years is not four days. So going forward I will be scouting for an African team I will now support, maybe I would go for South Africa because they look a bit solid as a team.

I would have been shocked if FIFA made a different decision. It was clear from the start that it was a witch-hunt by the NFF. I don’t know about you but I had already accepted that Nigeria is not going to the World Cup. I feel sorry for those who had their hopes up.

Many countries will not participate. Mostly the Middle East Countries because of the war that is going on. Israel, USA and Iran war will affect many countries.

It serves us the lesson not to seek the back way into competitions but rather to try to qualify directly for them.

After this World Cup, and when the time for another qualification round comes up to play, the NFF and players will sit up to ensure they make it happen.

I will be backing the Senegalese team for the World Cup as the team from Africa. They play serious football and have a greater chance of going past the group stages of the competition IMO.
