Lol 🤣 far from that, I don't believe their players would have been killed if they went to U.S, at best they all would have been repatriated back to Iran. FIFA wouldn't have allowed for such kind of thing to happen, they would interfere to resolve the matter, at best allow the Iranian team and their fans to quietly go back to their country. If it happens the way your putting it, trust me the competition will not even go further, it will stop at that moment. Many Iranian players have seek Asylum in few countries that they are currently participating in football activities with so for their faith in the FIFA world cup as a qualified team, this will have to do wit circumstances and conditions that are on ground for them, if their government see that the pressure of the war sis increasingly their will definitely suspend their participation in the world cup.

There is a level this war will get to that even the world cup may get suspended or even shifted to more safe time and date.

Between that only time will tell what exactly will happen to Iran world cup participation since the war just started.

It  is just a situation where the nation's are just being careful to avoid further escalations and that is why Iran do not want to fly the national team to the US hence they withdrawing from the FIFA world cup.

If Iranian football team go to United States for the World Cup, it can not result to any escalation but the female football team that recently went to for Asian Cup were granted humanitarian Visa in Australia. Telling others that they Iranian team members that they are welcome if they want to stay in Australia but they did not accept the offer but went back to their country instead. Maybe Iran also make such decision because of that. During time of war like this, the Western media has their ways of painting the country they called their enemy bad and black. Also FIFA instead will be Pro USA.

This is the latest on ground. Without anyone telling me or seeking for a prophet to tell me. And the experience gotten in the local football conflicts in the community level, Iran will not go to the the world cup. Whether there will be no escalation base on what is on ground, there is no need for them to go.

If we are to go by this information, and it happens to be genuine, then it would not be safe for the Iranian government to send its national team to the USA, as this statement alone is enough of a threat and warning to Iran. Anyways, it is normal that such decisions would be taken because no nation would accept the risk of their citizens in the camp of their supposed enemies, when they are aware of their intentions towards them.  FIFA would also honour the request of the Iranian government to withdraw from the World Cup because they, too, know the implications of such statements, which are not welcoming.

Ahhh!!! now i see why the government of Iran are trying their best for such things to happen for their citizens not to go and play the World Cup….well to me I would have said the Iran guy where very lucky to have be informed for such things…this was how there players might just ended up been killed by the USA whichever would be a very sad story…i think this statement was to heavy i just like the fact that the Iran government where been informed on time this would really be a easy decision here..I think I watch a video where the USA pilot was being killed at the spots and him was visibly injured and so many things happened in that scene..

The US can never be that careless, but for the fact that such a threat has been pronounced, it could be a problem because anything can happen. What if the players are attacked either way, in the airspace, land, etc., in the US? What do you think would happen? Do you not think it would result in war? Maybe an enemy country could take advantage of the scenario to launch an attack, and they would say it is the US. This is how war begins, and the retaliation would be very devastating from allied countries and more. Anyways I would not comment on this anymore as it is a very sensitive discussion.

Honestly I am just dreaming day and night that Nigeria somehow becomes the lucky team to take any available spot in that World Cup. I know it might sound funny, but I am still optimistic about it. In the kingdom of football, strange things sometimes happen and unexpected opportunities come up. So if there is any chance for another team to replace Iran, I just hope Nigeria somehow becomes the fortunate candidate. As funny as it sounds, I am still keeping that hope alive.

I really don't understand this whole thing, I thought this issue has already been ruled in favor of the congo or is it that the news I saw online was fake or what? Although with all that is happening there is no doubt that lots of fake articles are out there but for this case I think am counting out any chances of the eagles being present in the world cup and I think even the Nigerian FA themselves know this .

Super eagles definitely didn't try their best to qualify for the world cup, if they did put in their best to qualify for the coming world cup tournament, they would have qualified and won't have to now been seeking and looking for an alternative means of getting into the world cup..

And perfectly understand what the other user said and i honestly see some good sense in what he said, nothing beats winning head high and qualify for a tournament proudly through winning and not by waiting for another nation to get kicked out and expect that you will be called upon to replace the nation that was kicked out..
The super eagles actually made our nation proud in the African cup of nations but failed to do same in the world cup qualifiers..
If DR Congo later gets kicked out and the super eagles goes ahead to replace them in the world cup, then good for the super eagles but I am not proud of them with this type and means of qualification.

I think sometimes people forget this thread is in the gambling section and not the local board. I have seen it happen a couple of times here because Nigeria is always the center of attention here so people naturally feel relaxed on the thread and default to pidgin but that’s not the ideal thing to do.

I don't also what's embarrassing in making judgment and granting the Super Eagles of Nigeria a slot in the World Cup; we deserve to be there, but our previous coaches were not focused and put the team in a tight condition, which the new coach tried but couldn't get it right, but he actually did his best for the team, so we are given the chance I think we can do better this time based on Super Eagle's  performance in the AFCON I think we will be the best African team in the World Cup because the team is complete.
Lets wait for what FIFA will come up with, but I think if they make the judgement as fast as possible and we managed to be participating in the World Cup, the hype will be there.

Africa elite club competitions returns this weekend as teams struggle it out to make it to the next phase of the competition both in the CAF champions League and in the CAF Confederations cup. In the CAF champions League Berkane of Morocco played  1:1 with Al-Hilal Omdurman of sudan, mamelody sundown's of South Africa won 3:0 against Stade malien ,FAR Rabat of Algeria played a 1:1 draw with Pyramids of Egypt. The game between Esperance Tunis vs Al Ahly will be played later tonight. While AFRICA CAF Confederation Cup Play Offs game's Maniema  won USM Alger by 2:1,Otoho d'Oyo played a 1:1 draw with Zamalek , it was also a 1:1 draw in the game between Al Masry vs  CR Belouizdad .

I also don't think this news is authentic, or it is after declaration of Iran saying they won't be coming for the World Cup that Trump made the statement. Why will Trump threaten fans and players coming to watch and play football, what is he doing to the Iranians already residing in the US, are they not safe anymore? Football is a different federation and should be treated differently than political madness.
