I had 8000 USD in there, did not share my password with ANYONE and always need an email code to log in from a different location.

And when I started up my laptop today I was not auto-logged in anymore as I usually am. Sorry for your loss. Auto-login is convenient but it's actually risky and many people forget about this until something bad happens. If 2FA was active and someone still got in, there was probably an old session left open somewhere. Change the email password now, then log back into 2UP only from your own personal device. Also log out after every session to stay safe. $8000 gone without a single withdrawal that's devastating.

Fucking hell, I had well over 20K USD in there....all gambled away on some casino game I never palyed called Mahjong Ways

And no sign of breaking in to my email box. No suspicious activity there. Also 2 withdrawal attempt email codes were left unopened in there. And no withdrawal ever even processed therefore. The only positive is that the funds are technically still at 2up since they were lost in their own casino, so its not in the hands of the hacker.

For me all funds were also lost on this Mahjong Ways game. In bets history it shows a long list of hundreds of 88 USD bets. Around 20 of them per minute. It is a game in some Chinese or Japan language (I am German so don't understand it) and the login sessions history shows multiple sessions from Tokyo, Japan and one from Bengaluru, India.

For me no withdrawal attempt made, no emails at all. Extremely weird and I am lost for words. This has never happened to me before and I take security very seriously. My email is not hacked at all, no weird login attempts.

I agree that 2FA is better than email code only, but still the fact that 2up offer the option of having only email verification, means the customers should trust that this is enough protection. And it sounds pretty safe: for every new device log in, you need a code. As long as your email is not hacked, then this is perfectly safe. And the fact that no withdrawal was made (as far as I know nobody reported a hacker managing to succesfully withdraw) confirms that the email protection works.
If 2up claims email verification is a bad method they should not offer it as an option at all.

That suspicion makes sense. The official explanation is confusing, honestly. Any new device login should still trigger verification email or 2FA that's just how it's supposed to work. But if someone got into the server directly, all of that becomes irrelevant. Not personally hit by this but still worried, this platform gets used regularly and a withdrawal went through just hours before finding out what happened. At least 2UP responded. Now it's just waiting. Hope the people who got affected actually see their money come back.
