Hopefully this dev is as enthusiastic as some of the members of this community, coin may actually have a good chance if he does get motivated a bit more.

I agree. With all the bs going on with most altcoins. Something tells me I should be mining VC again.  Dev just needs a shot of adrenaline!  Grin

That sounds great, the more noise we can make the better Smiley  I have been discussing with Ownski basics like marketing continuity so we do at least look organized Tongue I will ask him to contact you so you can get some stuff worked out between you.  Great to see the support.

Hi linked67, that is my github ID, but if you don't mind updating vcoin code, then I won't need it.

their is an update for checkpoint.cpp file. I have posted it in thread.
I don't want to be rude but i have uploaded it on github because it was more easy to install it on my server after this. It's your job to register on github and upload/update your code.

Github is free.
"

so can't help much unless I was provided access or auther keep it updated.

back to https://github.com/billotronic/vcoin
I reviewed it, it needs to update checkpoint.cpp & some other files. I will upload changed files that you can replace it on github.

Thanks again.

Please update github with these updated source files.

Also comment out following code in main, as some Linux OS have issues & end up causing forking, but MAC OS or Windows OS builds should NOT be commented out.
Code:
else {
if (nBits != GetNextWorkRequired(pindexPrev, this))
return state.DoS(100, error("AcceptBlock() : incorrect proof of work"));
}

ok, how about you keep the repo ownership, that way I can concentrate on other things of Virtual Coin. I want this coin to succeed like bitcoin, litecoin or doge coin. All of them have one thing common, many volunteers helped out with code improvement, promotion/marketing. It is not possible for one person to do all this. I have given it a good start with professional logo, X11 code & potential Virtual Coin name, so again I hope we all join & help out. Bitcoin is gaining ground, it is possible VC can ride that wave.

Rightio.

One thing though, I am not a programmer so bare with me, there are two instances of that code in main.cpp, do they both need to be commented out? And wouldn't said commenting effect mac and win builds ?

In your current code: line 2325-2329 needs to be commented (it is already commented out in your source), but if building Windows or MAC builds, comment needs to be removed. I hope it makes sense.

ha yeah, thats what was kinda screwing with me as I thought it already was.

Ok, so let me see if I have this straight, if someone wanted to pull and build this source on win they would have to modify main.ccp?

yes, so that's why I am building Windows build myself. For some reason as I mentioned some time back in this thread that some versions of Linux OS have a bug that caused it to fail & thus cause forking.

If people are interested I could make a few signatures that link to this thread like the one below for promotion of this coin on this or any forum.  Colours and wording can of course be changed, the one below is just an example.

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
 Virtual coin  VGW  X11  3 million total coins  NO PREMINE
▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔

Depending on what member level you are will also affect what you can have as a signature too.  I can make signatures depending on member level if needed.

Depending on what member level you are will also affect what you can have as a signature too.  I can make signatures depending on member level if needed.

at what level do i have to be to be able to use a sug like this one?

For a colourful signature like the one I made above you would need to be a full member or higher.  I can make a simple one for members whose rank is lower than that.

- Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 50 characters.
- Jr. Member: Links allowed. Max 150 characters.
- Member: Unlimited length.
- Full: Color allowed.
- Sr. Member: Size allowed
- Hero: Background color allowed

I did not realise how restricted lower level members were until I found out the above information just now Sad

 #1000

sooo struggling with the daemon and I have an issue

No matter what I do, my client keeps getting stuck @ 1611

Code:
{
    "version" : 90108,
    "protocolversion" : 70002,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 1611,
    "timeoffset" : 0,
    "connections" : 6,
    "proxy" : "",
    "difficulty" : 21.81917496,
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1401983957,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
    "mininput" : 0.00001000,
    "errors" : ""
}

I've tried deleting the blockchain and retrying but to no avail. Any ideas?
