This delay of 20 seconds is on the Chrome browser (m$ win), where I always have 30 tabs open. (yeah, I know Cheesy). A slightly older computer with fairly heavily burdened resources.
I just tried it with Opera and only 20 tabs open; it also took roughly those 20-odd seconds.
However, under the same conditions on one advertising site, Altcha verification only takes 2-4 seconds.
It's not only examplens who has to wait that long for the captcha to be solved.
I tested the captcha twice on Chrome and twice on Firefox. It took 25 seconds each time on Chrome and 30 seconds each time on Firefox.
But I want to ask, I'm sorry if it's too basic. - why does this captcha not require us to solve some basic puzzle like other captcha?
Does it use browser prints to check for bots?
Thanks for the detailed tests, everyone. The CAPTCHA works as intended — the check always completes, it just takes longer on some devices and browsers, since the browser itself solves the puzzle. On our side it passes in about 4 seconds, but since several of you see 20–30, we'll look at how to make it faster on more setups.
MarryWithBTC, not a basic question at all. hosemary is right: your browser solves a small math puzzle in the background, so there's nothing to click or pick. And no, it doesn't use browser fingerprinting or cookies — that's one of the reasons we chose ALTCHA over Google's reCAPTCHA.
What is the best strategy for receive an "exact" amount of dollars making a swap from btc (blockchain - not lightning/second layer)?
Likewise, I have seen some services/payment providers that requires xxxx.xx dollars (exact number) .
I think I have seen a couple of instant exchanges that can let you put the value you want on the out put side and they will automatically calculate what you have deposit.
That would be a useful feature. Usually this is how the usual centralized exchanges do things.
Swap to your own wallet, and send from there.
Thanks for the suggestions — including examplens' idea with two receiving addresses. Unfortunately, setting an exact amount on the receiving side isn't something we can offer with how DEX.fo works: the final amount depends on what actually arrives and on the rate at the moment of the swap, which is also why automatic recalculation exists.
TryNinja's advice is the best way to get an exact sum: swap to your own wallet first, then send the exact amount from there. It also keeps you safe if anything ever needs a refund.
