Kylian Mbappe deserves the Ballon d’Or more than every other name on that list. He should rank first over Harry Kane. Harry Kane has the numbers, but Mbappe have more numbers in all competitions. Maybe many people don't want Mbappe to win the Ballon d’Or because he didn't win any trophies last season.
I think the same, but journalists are the ones who have the power to decide. If journalists are truly objective, then Kilian should be the winner, no other player, because Kilian stood out in the World Cup and he was the top scorer. I think it should be that way, but now the world is different; it gives awards to those who don't deserve them, and this award has received a lot of criticism lately. Beyond any doubt Kilyan Mbappe performance at World Cup as well as at previous season was absolutely phenomenal like he just purely dominated the stats with a decent effort but let me tell you something more. France football have a specific criteria for the Balloon d'Or and if you didn't scale in eligible criteria then probably they would never bothers you to get the awards. So right now if put Kilyan Mbappe performance at Balloon d'Or criteria then we only see a goals with two minor title..... So because of this FIFA probably might not handed this prestigious awards to Kilyan Mbappe. Lamine Jamal and Harry Kane are on top on rank and definitely each of them will win this awards. For me Lamine Jamal is much favorite candidate and the reason behind this I already told here.......

Look, you literally confirmed both of my guesses - you are a fanboy and will never acknowledge the facts, you will ignore them. Nobody cares about Messi’s junk stats against bottom-tier teams in a farmers league, lol. The undeniable facts are these: PSG was doing just fine both before and after Messi arrived. But when Messi was on the team, it was a total disaster - they were knocked out in the Champions League Round of 16 twice, and eliminated in the Round of 16 of the French Cup twice as well. When it mattered most, the supposedly best player vanished on the pitch What about your Ronaldo ~ . By the way, thanks for reminding about promises, you remember that one, right? That was back in 2018, and Barcelona is still waiting (Real has managed to win the Champions League twice since then, hehe) Yes he made them a promise which he didn't fulfill. But he took this team to the semi final and had one his best season ever and even won the Ballon d'or. Can't say that about Ronaldo who promised Juventus, but got knocked out by Porto. No one can deny Real Madrid champions league greatness, that's their speciality and Barcelona don't have that Champions league luck. But our conversation here is between Messi and Ronaldo. Sorry remind me how many Finals he lost and league titles he bottled while playing for Al Nasser ? Completely destroyed Manchester United that was already doing well under ole Gunner. What a surprise

~snip~ Now let me say this, if Mbappe was still at PSG they wouldn’t have won two champions league and he wouldn’t have won any Ballon D’or.
Now that's a weird take. They have been way stronger than their every opponent in the UCL in the last two years, so what makes you think the best (or 2nd best) forward in the world would change it to the degree where they would starts losing to the teams they confidently won against without him? Is it just baseless personal hate? It’s not just baseless personal hate, I love the guy Mbappe but the truth is he’s not the kind of player that makes team play easy. While he was at PSG, he was the main man he got all the goals and the other players most times don’t turn up or they play for him to score, he’s always chasing personal glory. If we can remember correctly the final against Bayern he and Neymar became somehow estranged in that match, they could have won if they played as a team. Same thing he brought to Madrid: Madrid was a strong team before his arrival, Vinicius was top of the World, best winger so far but then came Kylian Mbappe; the ego and the fact Madrid always wanted him, people thought they’d conquer Europe and be untouchable but they never survived Spain. So what I say is not hate but fact…. After he left Luis Enrique said “he prefers several players who get 10+ goals than just one who scores 30+”… and then what happens after he goes on to win the champions league twice in a row with a team that plays like there’s no superstar, if Mbappe was there he wouldn’t do some of the things the other players do and that will obstruct the team spirit which is what Real Madrid is Suffering. Ok lemme get this staight... If one one to agree with everything you've said about Mbappe personally (assuming I agree), assuming in order for the strongest team to start losing, it's not enough for one of the strongest players to be useless, he also has to be SIGNIFICANTLY net negative for the team's performance on the pitch but ok, let's assume you're right and we're all agreeing here. The question is... you think Luis Enrique is *that* stupid and unprofessional of a manager? You think he could see all that impact of one player on the pitch and do nothing? Not try to straighten him out, not put him on the bench etc? He would just let the things go their way without intervening? I don't know if you're a hater of Mbappe or something but with what you wrote you brutally insulted Luis Enrique implying he's a spineless and unprofessional nobody. You talk as if you didn’t know Kylian Mbappe was untouchable in Paris He had privileges other players didn’t have including Neymar and Lionel Messi. So if you say Luis Enrique would have disciplined him or benched him, you know how that would have turned out unless you lie to yourself. You’re reading your own version of what I wrote. I’m not insulting Enrique or hating on Mbappe, it’s just facts of things that have happened and still happening that I’m talking about. Maybe if you don’t know, make your research and find out for yourself.

If journalists are truly objective, Mbappe shouldn't be in the top three. Football in more than just scoring goals. There are awards for scoring goals, and that is the golden boot. Scoring the most goals doesn't necessarily mean you are the best player. The same Mbappe that Madrid fans were so fed up with last season is the same player people are saying deserves the balon dor. He couldn't win a single trophy all season. What is even crazier is that he plays for Real Madrid. It's not like he plays for Everton or Lyon, who don't have the players to win trophies. He plays for one of the biggest clubs in the world with the biggest players, so they have no excuse for not winning a trophy. At the world cup, he couldn't even take his team to the final. The fact that he scored goals in the world cup doesn't mean he deserves the Ballon d'Or. Harry Kane and Haaland both had better seasons than Mbappe. The top three of the balon d'or should be Yamal, Olise and Kane.

What about your Ronaldo ~
. By the way, thanks for reminding about promises, you remember that one, right? But he took this team to the semi final and had one his best season ever and even won the Ballon d'or.~ But our conversation here is between Messi and Ronaldo. Friend, please reread the dialogue, your obsession with Ronaldo (are you also his fanboy?) is preventing you from communicating normally. Look, the initial comparison was between PSG with a certain player and PSG without him - referring to Mbappé. And while PSG did come close to winning the Champions League with Mbappé (reaching a semi-final and a final), they actually won the Champions League without him. That’s an interesting comparison to make, but there’s one major "but": Messi’s fanboys never bring up this comparison in relation to him - because PSG was good both before Messi arrived and after he left, whereas with him, they failed completely. That's all. Now, go ahead and list another 100 random facts just to dodge the point.

The top three of the balon d'or should be Yamal, Olise and Kane. Well, you’re entitled to your own opinion but you should also know that the Balon Dior is not just all about winning a trophy and if you’re judging it by the recent World Cup then yamal shouldn’t be in that list because during the World Cup he had zero impact for his team, he managed only one goal throughout the tournament and only showed up in the final to become a World Cup winner, I don’t even know if the recent World Cup was going to count because that was just this season so the award will be based on last season’s performance and not this season . Players like Oyazabal should even have consideration than yamal because oyazabal was very instrumental for Spain in that World Cup. Mbappe have more influence during that World Cup more than Yamal even though he didn’t end up winning it for France but his consistent performance and contribution to his team was outstanding, he showed up in big games. If you compare the overall performance between those two players last season Mbappe has an edge over Yamal.

What they're saying is very true. I'm just saying that Mbappé might win because he was the most outstanding player in the World Cup. I know that Lamine and Harry also have good league performances and are champions of their local leagues, which is what puts them in a better position than Kilian. French journalists should establish some criteria for everyone so we can have predictions closer to reality. If I were to bet on the Ballon d'Or, it would be like flipping a coin.

Not to mention that in his first season he won the legue and got to the semifinals of the UCL where Mbappe was the topscorer so I don't think he was the problem. As a matter of fact, Enrique was still building the team plus didn't have Kvaratskhelia that season yet. He would have won his both UCL cups with or without Mbappe I don't see how that's a debatable point.

Let's be fair with the comparison. You can't outshine a player that is you met in his prime. Mbape was in his prime when he was in PSG before Neymar and Messi joined the team. It will sound ridiculous for Messi and Neymar thatbhas experienced their prime in Barcelona to want to drag a place with him. Do you know not see what he is playing now at Real Madrid, he is still the fast guy but he can't do most of the things he is doing in France now. You should also look at Lamine Yamal, he is the youngest in Barcelona but the team prefer to give him place and exposure than other people. Not like he is the best in the team, but he is more of a future and long term project for Barcelona than any player in that club right now.

Rodri had a better season than Olise. I’m happy the way you spoke about Mbappe. His supporters are arguing that he scored plenty of goals last season and the World Cup. but when has scoring more goals been a criteria in selecting the best player? Mbappe should be happy if he makes the top 5. In my ranking, Pau Cubarsi is ahead of Mbappe, judging from last season, during the World Cup and this season so far.

If Kane is winning this, D'or is only about the vibes of how many goals you can score instead of using all of metrics to determine the winner. Yamal was La Liga winner, WC winner, and he's also player of the season. So i think the objectivity must be based on all of metrics instead of only focusing on how many goals created because it's only putting player who played as ST in favor. Playing football is also about how many trophies you can win and how prestigious they are. I think this journalist award is starting to get biased. Using goals as objectivity to compare individual players across position makes no sense.
Why don’t you just take a look at the current criteria for the award? Individual achievements are considered first, followed by team achievements, and then behavior off the pitch. Kane is miles ahead when it comes to the first and last of these criteria. And when it comes to team and individual achievements, how do you explain the fact that Yamal didn’t make it into either the World Cup team of the tournament or the Champions League team of the season? No one is going to give an award for La Liga alone. How is Harry Kane miles ahead of Lamine Yamal in individual performance. Kane is a center forward who plays in a top level Bayern Munich team and Lamine is a winger in a top level Barcelona team. Lamine was Barcelona and Laliga best player, Kane wasn’t Bayern or Bundesliga best player… he’s only achievements is goals and it’s expected for a striker. He’s just exceptional and he won the European Golden Boot. Even at the World Cup, their performances can also be compared: Kane wasn’t England’s best player as well as Lamine wasn’t Spain’s best player but his team ended up winning the World Cup and he had a massive contribution to that even as you guys would want to judge him by goals and assists. So how is Kane miles ahead of Lamine Yamal?.

So how is Kane miles ahead of Lamine Yamal?. Don't you think you're asking a question that I've already answered? But it’s no trouble for me to repeat it, look: last season there were two major tournaments: the Champions League and the World Cup. Kane has been named to the Champions League Team of the Season. Yamal failed to make it into either the World Cup team of the tournament or the Champions League team of the season. Do you realize that this immediately disqualifies him? A player cannot receive the "Player of the Year" award if he wasn't the best in either of the two most important tournaments. Now, explain to me: how can you possibly refute this simple fact?
