Regional restrictions are not anything now from online offshore casinos and I don't think any veteran gambler should be ignorant about this. It's due to regional restrictions that made many gamblers using VPN to access some of these casinos with restrictions to their region. The narrative for these restrictions are bonded on licensing and certain legal risks since all governments view on gambling aren't same, so they just want to disassociate from those regions and focus on where business could go smoothly and without legal troubles.
If it is a restriction, you can not bypass it with VPN and think naively that your account and fund will be safe. Restrictions can be on a specific nation or a region but a region if includes your nation will mean the same for you, you are not welcome by that casino. If you use VPN to bypass that regional restriction, you are unsafe, and it's only matter whether and when your account as well as fund will have big problems later. I am keen on unsafe scenario for such accounts and funds, only time when problems appear.

If there are terms and restrictions, and you are not welcome written by these things, it's best if you move to other platforms to use, rather than breaking ToS and hope for a safe future.

most times kyc is more of a regional thing because for some persons living in certain  areas they might be mandated to undergo kyc regular as a government policy and for such areas.

Are you sure you are not mistaken kyc casino for something else?, because I have not seen were a casino only made a kyc specifically for a particular region, or perhaps you could shared any of the Casino that's doing what you are saying for us to see because all I know is that every kyc casino usually demand the verification from the entire users irrespective of the region you come from and after being verified they will never ask you to be regularly verifying yourself because is one time process and that's how it has always been, I have done kyc before on a casino and I have not experience all this things you are saying.
He is obviously wrong in what he is saying, a casino do not do that, and if he has seen such or will I say experience such, he can tell is what we it took place as you requested of him.
KYC is not limited to some players alone, it is a general thing for a KYC casino to ask for it from their users, but for NOKYC casino, they come up with the request at anytime when they feel like, which we has talked about in this thread severally, although I will be waiting fpr him to reply to the concern you raised, maybe there is something he will be revealing to us.

There is usually geographical restrictions in casinos and that requires that people from certain regions or countries are not permitted to use the casino. If that is the case, then KYC is very helpful in ensuring the gambler is not from any of the countries. You may say IP address can be used but that is not enough because people can evade that through the use of VPN. Therefore, KYC can be one of the ways of enforcing geographical restriction.
If a casino has a system which can automatically blocked a restricted regions users but a person who lives in a restricted region wants to access it. So they use a VPN that does not get detected by the casino (many casino can actually detect when someone try to access using VPN).

In that case they can easily access the casino like other users. But if the casino somehow suspects that the user is from a restricted region they will definitely ask for KYC verification so that they can identify whether the user is actually a user from the location associated with the IP address they are using.

They can use VPN to access the casino in two ways.

The first way is they always use VPN so they genuinely visit that casino with VPN and initially don't know about the restriction.
The second way is they visit the casino with real IP and get restricted, then they use VPN to access the casino by bypass the restriction. This way, they truly know about restriction at beginning, and if they continue to register account, it's bad.

In the first way, even they can access the casino well initially, it's always recommended to check ToS for restriction terms and list before registering an account, then funding it.

I support your statement. Although exemptions may occur if the requirement for regulation differs from one region to another. Where a casino is licensed, the regulator may want to impose some strict KYC requirements, while some regulatory bodies in some regions will not ask for documents, but rather require email verification as KYC.

The KYC that most gamblers talk about is KYC that requires documents, government ID, and an international passport, while some regulatory bodies don't require such.

I wish I can understand how someone can make gambling as a source of income. Even lucky ones can't do this because it is impossible to admit luck will always be in their favor. Someone who win a fortune can use that money to create a sustainable source of income like investing in some profitable projects, but never to consider gambling could be their main source.
I still don't believe that anyone will try to make gambling his source of income when he doesn't have the power to decide the outcome of any game.
There are people who actually do, more especially jobless people, so they invest more of their time in gambling. They even go ask far as taking higher stake, just to make sure they make profit when winning isn’t even guaranteed and at this point I’ll say this set of people are addicted to gambling because they can’t actually do without it. They have so much confidence to win a bet, they don’t care about how much they loose because they will keep chasing after their losses.

If I well understood your post, does this mean that chasing after their loss is a sign that they are making gambling a source of income?
Something contradictive in your post. You said they are jobless people and then you said it is why they spend full time gambling. If they don't keep winning, they can't continue gambling since their jobless, they don't have a source of income.

As I said many times, it is not logic to talk about gambling as a source of income while the gambling system itself is designed to let people keep losing if they keep playing. I ask anybody who believe in this statement to prove it how it could be for real. Maybe Poker Masters in physical casinos, but with online gambling it is almost impossible.

Agreement is what you do when coming out for a business or trying to network with others persons.

KYC is hardly a problem for many. A lot of gamblers keep at it today, gambling even with the requirement of KYC. It’s more about a government problem with the casino than a registry problem. You can get licenses from a number of places but, compliance with local laws ensure you aren’t using your casino for wrong reasons.

You're right actually most times kyc is more of a regional thing because for some persons living in certain  areas they might be mandated to undergo kyc regular as a government policy and for such areas. The government does that mandatory kyc registration for those casinos so that they can be able to have a data of the users and also I believe that they also have other motives behind making kyc compulsory. Of course there should be some interest but then they also want to control the overall activities on the casino.
I don't know why you think KYC is a regional requirement which I don't think say. If you are gambling on a KYC casino you will be mandated to do compulsory KYC verification for the casino to know if you are the real person behind the account.
There are other reasons why KYC can be asked and it's not about a regional something.

When you say "KYC is more of a regional thing", how do you mean because I see nothing regional there or do you mean the fact that a country government requires their citizens to must do KYC with any casino that registers with them or got am operational licence from them? Because this is just the basis I could think of when you make the statement though but anyways,  one of the major thing I think that made the casino to request for KYC is underage gambling. They likely want to see the face of the player to determine if truly the age matches the face while doing the KYC because most players are likely underage children trying to gamble secretly but the KYC singles them out for immediate actions by the casino.

Casinos who use IP tracking and VPN blocks to filter out restricted users are doing what is right and normal, it's a way to protect their licences. Anyone who's not happy with such conditions or isn't ready to go through the KYC verification mustn't a fuse out of it , they can easily move on to a non-KYC casino that offers what they want.

It was already explained by some well known members why a casino can ask a user for kyc verification, and regional thing wasn’t mentioned. Actually that make sense, if a casino dont want a region or a country they will block u from the beginning you wont be able to play or to deposit your funds there

I believe the confusion is because two different types of KYC are being confused. Casino KYC policy and KYC requirements of the jurisdiction they are operating in. It is not always a requirement that a casino implement kyc. It does not always have to be a requirement. And the requirement can be based on the license, AML requirements. The withdrawals or the casino's own risk controls. Age verification is undoubtedly one reason. But there are others. The identity verification can also be used to catch duplicate accounts, suspicious payment activity. And if you're trying to take advantage of bonuses. This is the reason why a casino advertising No KYC should inform players when they might be asked to provide verification in the future. Particularly before making a big withdrawal.

I believe a key difference is whether or not a casino is No KYC by default or a casino that says you will never need to verify. This is not always the situation. A platform could enable withdrawal and normal gaming features without having to verify a user's identity to begin with, but still require verification if a user's transaction meets its own risk controls, or if it is legally required. Instead of just regional KYC, I'd review the actual terms and conditions of the casino for when KYC is allowed. Players then have a much better understanding of what No KYC truly entails.

I have no problem with casino blocking users that made use of vpn in their casino, as long as it is in their terms and conditions, but where I find unacceptable is when a casino will stay mute without blocking the user, when he is using a vpn to gamble on their platform just because he is constantly losing, but the moment he won something big or anything that they they find difficult to pay, that is when they will start using the excuse that vpn was used in their site, while they were the one's that allowed it from the start, since the gambler was losing, but the moment he won something big, they realize all of a sudden that vpn should never be used on their site, that's an act of fraud.

That's the worst any casino can do. And such a casino should be sue because that's a confirmed criminal act. To be honest this can be so painful mostly when you are badly in need of that money, what was stopping them in bringing it up when the gambler was having a countless lost if not for the fact that they know what they were doing.

To be very sincere on this , If any casino try such rubbish with me I'm not going to take it lightly with them. I will ensure they get their reputation being messed up because they'll certainly not gonna go free. I'll suggest gamblers should make concrete findings about a casino before going into it to avoid this experience.
