If I well understood your post, does this mean that chasing after their loss is a sign that they are making gambling a source of income?
Something contradictive in your post. You said they are jobless people and then you said it is why they spend full time gambling. If they don't keep winning, they can't continue gambling since their jobless, they don't have a source of income.
Many always think when gamblers chase after losses it is because they are jobless and have no source of income, but this is not true. Anybody can chase losses, even those who have a source of income. Some gamblers can't just bear the pain of loss, and they haven't understood gambling that it is a game of loss and win. If you don't know this and build your mind well, loss will look like a big thing that you can't easily let go. Chasing losses is not a matter of not having a source of income; it is a mindset, and it can be changed with an understanding of what gambling is all about.

A gambler with no source of income will not chase losses because he won't have more money to spend, it isn't easy to lose and let go unless the gambler has the discipline to stop when he is losing. The spirit of gambling is what makes losers to keep looking for a way to win but those who knows the disadvantages of chasing after losses they will stop when they are not winning. The mindset controls what we do if your mindset could not stop you not even the money you lack will stop you until you are not having anything to pay again.

I think you have been somehow missing the context in what I said. If someone hasn't an income source to finance hos deposits into casinos, how could him chase after losses? Losing over and over again means the need for more money yo deposit into the casino. Without an income the gambler is hopeless to continue playing. I don't think the idea is that complicated or you just want to say a different thing.

It's crazy but yes it's true you end up some times not being able to control yourself to be able to know when to stop but this happens mostly with people who are addicted to gambling in this case this person's do not necessarily need to have all the money they need because most times if they really cannot get the money they need to gamble at a time some of them go as far as borrowing to gamble and it's that bad for them so even at the point of borrowing they still do not know when to stop gambling.

Same point I was trying to make that even when a gambler that is addicted keeps losing, he cannot just stop gambling, since he doesn’t know his limit, instead he would go as far as borrowing money to keep gambling. The only thing that might stop him is maybe after borrowing from people and he still does not make any profit or win to pay back his debt and has no means of borrowing again, then since there is no option where to get money to gamble he can decide to pause gambling then but does not necessarily mean his stopping gambling.

You have a point in what you say sir, besides being addicted to gambling is not something that can be easily given up by the addicted gambler himself, due to it seems like his
body and mind are already looking for it.

besides, they are also not able to think normally due to the addiction has controlled their personality too much. It is rare for an addicted gambler
to help themselves get out of it.

Chronic gambling addiction is beyond the bad habit tag it gets, it also affects your psychology, to the extent that you can't even control your impulse again.

Imagine getting to the point where embark on a borrowing spree even when you know you don't have the plans or means to pay them back, that's the level of out of control of your own decisions that comes with gambling addiction.

If you ever reach that level, you can't even get out of it without help again no matter how determined, that's where external support and sometimes professional counseling helps pull you out.

Addiction at first can look very easy and not even call addiction because at that early stage the addicted sees it like fighting to recover what has been lost either at once or several bets, this continues if the gambler don't stop he craves for opportunity by all means to see that he gets back every penny he has lost. Many even gives themselves high target that looks unrealistic, so it make he strive with all he can.
Those who don't have means to borrow again will steal to funds thire gambling habits and makes them unfaithful when handling money.

It’s easy and hard at the same time, the key is to always remember that you Ill never get rich by gambling, it can be a helpful path if you win some serious amounts, but in long term of thing you will be forced to start a business to get rich, gambling isn’t a jooob

I might kind of not agreed to that you have said most of the times Addiction doesn’t start with a chasing losses, most times many gamblers get so lucky and hooked at the thrill of winning, I could tell you that some gamblers even get so excited and keeps playing because it feels so good….

And I want you too understand that many gamblers don’t steal, they just risk and play gamble with what they have and lose their savings, jobs, or relationships without breaking the law…

Addiction happens once money is lost in gambling the person trys to recover in doing that he starts getting addicted if he doesn't stop it will become part of him making it impossible for him to stop gambling. No addicted gambler will see it as addiction when he is just starting when he is fully addicted he now sees it as his life style because all he has lost he will be playing hoping to recover when he will losing even more. Greedy gamblers have target, such targets are unrealistic because they never get to meet their targets till some of them grow old.

No matter how much an addicted  gambler is swarmed in debt gambling will happen. They'll stop one day and continue in two days without clearing their debts or have that thought of being already in debt. An addict will always find ways to get money to gamble.
As you said it is not that easy for an addicted gambler to stop gambling. It is only an addicted gambler that will make that choice  to stop gambling or gamble wisely.

Some people in their early stage of addiction barely admit that they're addicted and seek help on how to avoid getting worst, it takes courage for some to even open up about it, except they have someone close who figures out cause he's been monitoring the person. To some it seems like hard luck and they need to keep trying, without having the idea that constant trying and losing without taking a break get him/her closer to become chronic gambling addict. And that's when the urge to borrow or steal to gamble comes in, by then it becomes a little tough to help such people asides taking them to correctional center for therapy.
