According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Crypto is still very new and the masses do not know about it yet and for people to get in to crypto
they get into it because they heard about bitcoin and for those people to get in to alt coins they
have to like crypto currencies..

this is not something that is going to take off in 1-2 years.. (ALT coins) because there are so many
and not all of them will survive.

It is the dev team and the community behind the alt coin that make it last the distance..

Look at Myspace and then along came facebook and took over that does not mean that bitcoin will stay at the top of the food chain
for ever

It all depends on what the masses will adopt.

PND looks like it has a nice dev team and they care about their coin and as long as they keep hacking away (CODING) and not thinking
about the monetary again's , they should be ok... people will find the good coins and the crap / scam coins will dies..

Only thing... I see with this coin that could hurt it is the number of coin abut then again I could be wrong...

As I see it right now.. the coin is a good price.. compared to that coins with the same specs sitting at 8k sat

I would be happy if this coin got to $0.01 cent that would make my day and I am sure some day it will

I thought paypal did not like their users accepting  or buying crypto via them... so how does http://www.buypnd.com/ get away with it...

I heard about paypal accounts getting closed or frozen that sell or accept crypto...

Did PND get permission from paypal to accept buy order via them.. for pnd...

what about paypal charge backs for scammer buying pnd with paypal and dumping them on the exchanges..

Will that not just hurt pnd and crypto...  how is pnd protecting them self from paypal scammers

This is a concern, however PayPal and ebay as well as other e-business players are beginning to understand and becoming more accepting of crypto currencies and blockchain technologies.  BuyPND.com does have limits and verification procedures so if you plan to order in more than 100.00 usd amounts be sure to request some level of verification.  If we experience losses we cannot continue to cover, only verified buyers may become a temporary necessity and or prices will have to rise in the future and or limits could be reduced etc. We are being as careful as we can while trying to provide a sustainable and reputable service at both BuyPND.com and UsePND.com but learning is part of the journey so some details may have to be adjusted accordingly.  Wink

The browser miner is now fully functioning. No shares have been lost.

Works great! Got my first payout! Now every panda set your browser homepage to

http://miner.pandacoinpnd.org:9876/

I just tried it out. WOW. That is amazing! It takes a lot to impress me. It really nails the idea of simplicity for the masses!

I hope there is strong DDOS protection and failsafes (such as alternate URLS ready) as well as good load balancing if it gets popular!

Altcoins remind me a lot of YouTube channels. Many upload new videos weekly and contain relativly decent content, but they never get noticed because they are in the shadow of much larger channels. Then one day a random video that isn't all that different from the rest suddenly goes viral for no reason at all and the channel and it's other videos get a lot more attention.

PND is the same. We'll be in the dark for a while but it's only a matter of time before we suddenly get a lot of attention as long as we continue to push new developments.

Anyone see this:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=767162.0

Looks like Bittrex is going down and a whole bunch of new coins with it.

The devs here should update the ANNs for each thread to say Panda was founded back in February 2014 so some bureaucrat doesn't put it on the kill list.

Basically if the post can be believed any coin founded after April of 2014 is in trouble.

BIG WINNER!

Great analogy lol but I think PND stands tall among many other altcoins and we will reach our goals , just a matter of time.

I honestly don't believe it, newbie poster come on, but anyway it clearly states in our OP:

How long has the PoW phase been running so far?
Pandacoin (PND) had begun their PoW phase since Feb 16, 2014 and has been mined for 95 days. Pandacoin (PND) is one of the rare PoS coins with such a long PoW phase, a duration of more than 3 months, to distribute the coins fairly out towards the community.

Trading halted after the big announcement. Theory is that there are only few trades e.g. small community.

I actually don't sit on panda Smiley

I'm very surprised by some of these guys that have a very adventurous way of thinking especially when talking about panda.

Don't forget we had 1200 LTC worth of PND brought on the first day after the annoucement. It makes sense that it's been a slow day. Many people were looking forward to the 30th to make sure that the devs were living up to their promise and when the devs proved their legitmacy all of those who were skeptical about buying PND brought in as fast as possible. All coins have their slow days. Smiley

I agree a lot of comments from the same people are a bit overbearing and while I enjoy the energy, it is a bit annoying to check this thread and see the same style of comments flood a page or two of the most recent 4-5 pages. The 30th has come. What we have is in front of us. I'd rather this thread be about productive posts towards questions from new lookers and maybe a realistic conversation about the future of this coin rather than what we have now; which is just hype posts and pointless responses to fudders (not saying you are a fudder)

I don't think you are a fudder, but at this point I wonder why you bother. Devs have answered (hopefully at least) your questions, you have seen the new developments, why do you still post here? I appreciate you caring enough about the investments each of us have made in pandacoin as you have tried to convince us to hop of this coin to save our money, but I think I can speak for everyone here when I say that we are happy with the investments we've made and we are all willing to accept the consequences if it ends up that the PND market crashes.

I also don't like the way some people are responding to negative posts. Be more mature people. For the sake of the reputation of this community. If you made a good investment in this coin, then there is no reason to be an asshole. Smiley
