11k is such a small amount. It like 4-5 bitcoins at todays prices.

Once (if) this coin catches on again and I think it will, it will not take much volume to get BBR back to .003+

Right now BBR is in a good position.

• BBR has performant open-source GPU miners, (by contrast some of the miners for other cryptonote coins are closed source, and performance crippled by dev unless donation is set)

• BBR has a usable, intuitive GUI in mainnet, lowering the barrier to entry dramatically to those who are not familiar with command lines, or manually installing libraries etc. For non technical users the BBR setup process is a breeze compared with some other cryptonote coins in their current incarnation . Installation is quicker, syncing is quicker. it Just works well. Not tomorrow, not next week but today.

• BBR has a much more reasonable emission curve than some other cryptonote coins, combined with a much lower value per coin.  It would take orders of magnitude less BTC inflow to support the daily mined amount ( should it be dumped every day on the exchange)

• BBR has alias features, enabling you to send coins to any wallet with a simple twitter style @.  With other cryptonote coins you are forced to copy and paste complex payment keys.

• BBR has ability to trim the size of the blockchain, not compress it but trim the actual dataset.
  

• BBR has a clearly competent, responsive dev, familiar with the CN codebase and who is receptive to new ideas. Notably more time is spent here on actually coding features than talking about plans to code features in the form of newsletters, missives etc

• BBR has on the horizon integrations with exciting new technologies and the chance for new infrastructure to be linked between platforms. Some smart individuals are beginning to see the potential, some have been swayed from competitors by community hostility, arrogance-- new opportunities are arising as a result of this

So the fundamentals are clearly strong, and clearly pointing towards the fact BBR is greatly undervalued relative to some competitors.

I guess now we just need some more threads -- BBR speculation, BBR wall observer, BBR FAQ's, BBR tech support, BBR altcoin observer, BBR economics, blowing the lid off the cryptonote scam (with the exception of boolberry) etc and begin the strong concerted campaign to push the idea that boolberry is the only altcoin worth investing in aside from BTC 

So where are these additional threads that you promised? (Just kidding )

Big ups to jl777 for the exposure. A big part of crypto adoption is marketing and jl777 has built a solid reputation for himself and the projects he supports. No wonder he is having a good rapport with important personnel in exchanges and other places. I also picked up a few BTCDs while I was browsing his thread and I was happy to exchange a few PMs with him for some great information!

CZ, I know you are busy making BBR even better, but if you can help XMR figure out what happened, it is the right thing to do. This sort of thing doesnt help any crypto and when family is in the hospital we should do whatever we can to help

+1 The father should never be too proud to receive help from 'the son'. Even if he is almost ready for retirement home and spends his time hurling abuse at him talking about how he's an unwanted seed who never lived up to expectations of his father and how it was his mom who picked his awful name.

at least he is almost waking.

NXT had a GLEFU about a month ago and all forging stopped
it was some rare cases bug from a new feature interacting with an almost never used feature
the nodes were complaining about a negative balance, which is of course impossible, like the XMR 0.00000000 txouts
good thing chanc3r just send the node with a neg balance a few NXT and then afterwards the fork sort of healed itself, but it was very nervous to see blocks take 5 minutes, then an hour, then 15 minutes, then 2 hrs.

horrible for any crypto to be hurt like this.
let us hope it is just some simple edge case and not a more serious flaw.
since this code was rewritten by zoidberg I estimate the chances it is still in BBR as pretty small, but regardless the sooner XMR gets fixed the better for all cryptonotes and for all crypto

I already extracted the pure ring sig processing but it seems like recommending a brain transplant for some specific issue!

Anyway the attack seems to be something about overflowing the merckle tree with 512 tx and they use a bunch of 1 satoshi inputs, over days. But I dont understand why they cant just do it all at once, well at least over just a couple blocks.

until somebody (CZ!) that understands the tx processing solves how this was done, anybody that says they know this is applicable to all cryptonotes including BBR is not telling you the truth. Now I think it is safe to say that all the non-BBR cryptonotes have this vulnerability as they cut and paste this part of the code, but CZ specifically modified the block format and that code is adjacent to this, so even without knowing it he could have easily found and fixed a flaw. Especially if it is some overflow bug.

so BBR is the only cryptonote with a chance to not be vulnerable to this flaw, but until we properly identify it, we can only guess.
