I have watched it in this thread, the new thread that he created where we can see that a lot of sockpuppets just voted anonymously and then arguing with the new marketing guy and posting the same thing again and again. I have nothing against sussex. I think it is awesome to see his passion, I honestly do. If there was a vote for BBR against a new name, I'd vote BBR too, but I thought the team was encouraging to see if a new name is acceptable and if not to suggest something everyone likes. Frankly I don't want to see him go and I'd rather CZ reprimand me since I came to this coin much after sussex et al.

But someone had to relay the message to sussex that he was overdoing it and trying to hinder free speech. I was not the right guy and may be went over board myself.

I think that two things are important here, that core team likes the name and that majority of supporters do not hate it. Few days ago i thought that zoidberg likes Rune more than Boolberry, but it may not be the case. It may be fair to say that majority of supporters do prefer Boolberry - which also, as someone stated, means it is brandable. Not to mention uniqueness which gives it the edge over the Rune. I was kinda indifferent in the chocse of two but i was not aware that Rune, as it has powerful meaning, was prostituted in several games, comicbooks and wherenot, which may give it a bad connotations... which in turn is hard to fight against.

Personally i like international terms which have its alive variant in majority of languages, as Cipher, and that is why i proposed BazaarNotes and Bazaarune. They would be pronounced a bit differently in different part of the World, and any nation may have feeling it is "made for them". But i suspect that is hard to reach consensus over the name change as the Boolberry is a good name to start with. It's playful, for more than one reason

Personally love boolberry. I dont think the name reflects what the coin does, but that's why I love it. It is almost like a cover for what it is. Can you imagine law enforcement having to hold press conferences about fighting the outbreak of boolberry use?

I didn't see your CVs, so i won't mention everyone who have experience with this, but what i do know that AM knows what network effect is and James is not stranger to the term himself, and they both suggest to keep the current name. As a lot ppl here pointed out, name change is painful and is should not be undertaken unless there are obvious benefits from it. Thus, i'll echo here

I ask if windjc is willing to make the marketing campaign with the name Boolberry like with Rune or other voted names with the same enthusiasm?

EDIT: If you are, only thing i'll suggest is to change the color of the logo. If it is blue ppl tend to read it "BlueBerry" when they first see it. Actually i would propose another thing also, to make it Phoenician purple

I don't want to speak for zoidberg, but it may be because you two have been way overboard for a while, though, that he feels he should step in. We get it already. You don't like the name or dungeons and dragons. It's just gone to the point where it's past discussion and only constant complaints. At this point, the wheels are in motion. It 's probably better to see what transpires with the name. But really, nobody liked cezium?

We working hard on rebranding right now, since we not changed yet website/logo/first post etc, until we announce it say "officially" let's keep call it BBR, last days, so every one who love this name(including me) could use it, last times

because i love it too, and want point out to the new community members, there probably don´t seen it yet, that we have nice animations for Boolberry on youtube, make from the user desil.

You don't get it already.  I like D&D and get along splendidly with all manner of sci-fi neckbeards, ghey cosplay/furry freaks, pagans, Wiccans, etc.  I often go to Burning Man and have a great time with all manner of people sporting rune tattoos/scars/body paint.   

However, those associations in the form of "Rune" offer no comparative advantage to our status quo Boolberry brand, and the rebrand has demonstrably fractured the community.  How much social capital and goodwill are you willing to sacrifice to get your way?  2/3 of it?  All of it?  Good luck with that.

As for sussex and I posting too much, sorry but that's how a discussion works.  We're exploring a topic and developing/responding to arguments, not just posting the same thing repetitively.
