No, I wouldn't, necessarily. As I said, where does it end?

Where it ends is irrelevant, it's just one of many features that makes BBR appealing.

My iPhone has a better camera than my beat-up old generation Nokia. I don't ask 'where do pixel sizes end' when taking pictures of my kids, I just use the iPhone. Neither do I look to newer phones (with better cameras) because on balance my iPhone is more suited for my purpose. Neither do I lay awake at night hypothesising on whether there could one day be a better phone (xPhone) that trumps my iPhone in every aspect. Or there could be 'yPhone' that trumps 'xPhone'... therein lays the road to madness! 

BBR is secure, fast, has a user-friendly GUI, all built from bottom up, with minimal fuss or fanfare, by a single Dev that's seems the most knowledgeable about Cryptonote technology.

The emission curve, along with mixin and other features are additional strings to the BBR bow.

It's the pick of the Cryptonote coins that happens to be chronically undervalued (relative to the others) IMO.

Now you are completely changing the subject. I never said anything negative at all about BBR, I just questioned the premise that slower/smoother = fairer. 

If it were a matter of slower=fairer then someone making a new one like QCN would be an argument that existing coins with a faster curve, like BBN, are less fair. I don't see it.

You've questioned the premise without making a case to the contrary. If you have an alternative viewpoint, and care to share it, it would be good to hear?

Equally, if the viewpoint that slower = fairer means QCN has an even fairer curve than BBR, fair enough.

My point is that 'rate of emission' is one of many facets to a coin and one that (as you say) can be always be better by a new coin... so would need to be considered in conjunction with everything else.

(NB: wasn't implying you said anything negative about BBR, I was merely taking the opportunity to emphasise the 'everything else' that BBR brings to the party. This is the BBR thread after all!)

Yeah, my view is that at this point anything reasonable is worthy of experiment and we can see what the market accepts. Even XDN is on the borderline of that.

Fairness, if discussed at all (and I would argue it often shouldn't be since the concept is so subjective), should be considered more on the basis of process than parameters, and here is where would take issue with XDN because I don't like how they keep rebranding/refocusing after essentially all of the coins are already mined/premined/instamined/whatever-you-want-to-call it. The way it was done looks manipulative to me (opinion).

So, to keep it on topic, I think BBR emissions are fair and other fairly launched and developed coins are also fair whether they happen to be somewhat faster or slower than BBR.

I think the community can help right now by contacting merchants.  We have a lot of users that I am sure are eager to spend their BBR. Having a fully functional GUI will make that easy.  

We could start by contacting merchants who highly value the privacy of their users.

I think bounties would be very reasonable (perhaps for both the merchant and the person who signed them up).

I do not want to be involved in collecting donations or awarding the bounties myself.  Do we have any trusted community members that can assume that role?

Bounties for building technology or creating new services that benefit BBR, I understand.
Bounties for marketing and promotion activity that build the BBR brand, I get.
Sweeteners for merchant adoption I'm dubious of.

What merchants did you have in mind? And if the use case is valid (i.e. a win/ win for merchant and their customer base), why the need to pay anyone a bounty?

I tend to agree with you that sweeteners for merchant adoption are not ideal.  Perhaps we should start by encouraging anyone in this thread who owns a business to start accepting BBR.

For those outside of our community the sales pitch will be slightly more difficult since we will have to convince them that accepting BBR will either lead to increased sales from new customers or improved satisfaction from existing privacy focused customers.

We can start small. Perhaps someone wants to create and sell BBR branded tshirts to community members. Then we could target VPN services that already accept BTC (they have many customers who care about privacy). If we could convince shapeshift.io to add us that could really help us as well.

Setting up an online store to sell branded BBR t-shirts/ apparel I can look into... I know a couple of people that do that stuff. I also have a few ideas around t-shirt design.

I'll look to sell apparel for fiat however offer substantial discounts for those purchasing with BBR. Start small and see where it leads.

Working on some slogan designs playing on the words "bool" and "berry."  I'm experimenting with ideas that may appeal outside the crypto community - rather than a basic t-shirt with a logo.

NB: I don't have a design or marketing background so would appreciate any input from those that do. Will also be seeking guidance from people I know that specialise in this stuff however thought I'd share my early mock-ups here first. Working up a basic business plan, will flesh it out and share if I feel the venture has mileage.
