yes, thank you for opening that issue with us since back then. We have always had your issue in mind. I figured it needed to hard fork once again so we put it a side for the moment to see what else would pop up. of course we saw also the hard seeds nodes were not added either. That was also something we knew we have to change. another thing was the checkpoints. We were expecting HiroS to come back and do the final touches. He just disappeared out of the blue. And now these finally came back to bite us! I guess the dns seed and checkpoints expiring triggered all these network spams

I didn't mean to disrespect anyone's opinion or ideas guys , I just shared my views on the matter as I was asked to , it is upto the community on doing whatever is needed.
Thank you so very much Alphi for your kind inputs regards to the same and opening up a conversation related to the matter and opening door for further discussions within the community.
Warm Regards, ~SoopY~[/b]
It's cool, your not disrespecting anyone. your inputs and advice are very much appreciated. I have just seen too many coins reach for the hard fork option when it really isn't necessary most of the time. we need to always remember that whenever we hard fork, individuals, exchanges and pools, statistic websites etc that are not up to date are effectively locked out of the system until they update.. with a coin like Karma there are so many people who disappear for 6 months and then come back and yell WTF when their wallet is not working. We also need to acknowledge the economic reality that if a coin is too much hassle for an exchange to support then they will drop it. Cryptsy just recently had problems with their Karma wallet which took them weeks to fix, they have fixed it now but I wonder how long it would take them to update their wallet if we hard forked. I don't like the idea of cryptsy's (or any other exchange's) karma wallet going offline again because they were too busy or simply couldn't be bothered fixing it... I'm also wondering if those people who are unable to sync are still having the problem after they update their karma peers.dat file from someone who has kept it updated. I know its only a band-aid fix but it seems to have worked well in the past. P.S. I am not against fixing the problem.. just against hard forking.. so if we have a temporary fix that works for now then we could always change the magic bytes to something more appropriate the next time we actually need to do a hard fork. Hey alphi yeah i contacted Soopy to check out our coin. i was hopping it was not a issue that would require hard fork but seems like we can't escape it. Yes an other hard fork might hurt us but this is something we have to fix before it escalates to major issues that would really hurt our network. I don't think we should do it asap as i am still trying to return the lost coins to users before they will need to update. How ever this is something we should definitely start to consider and figure out if there is something else we need to modify. Sure we might risk having Cryptsy annoyed and delist us but i think it's better to find out if they will delist us out of annoyance rather then double spends and/or forks issues. We , Karma users, have been through worse. Let's all come together one more time and openly find the best solution

Hi my friends, i installed my wallet, but it dont sync.. put settings in appdata but dont work.. Any ideas?
im not infront of the wallet at the moment - so can only go off what i can remember - and most wallets offer this procedure ... find some active nodes from here - https://chainz.cryptoid.info/karm/#!network ... click on the 'node list' of the version of wallet you have ... open up the debug console ( in the top menu of the wallet ) - click onto the console and type - addnode xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx add ... replacing all the xxx with the ip of the active nodes ... you can do this a few times with different ip's ... close the console - and wait for the wallet to sync with that node - and the rest should sync fine ... you only need one active node to start the sync - and the wallet does the rest ... at least - that is what i can remember ... the other way is to add that node in the .conf file in the 'roaming' folder in windows - or the ~/.karmacoin folder in lunux ... by adding - addnode=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - in the .conf file ... hope this helps - even just a little bit ... #crysx

Can be transferred to the POS? yes we should take some time and think of what we need to change. First of all a list of what we must do. then a list of features we would love to implement. exciting time ahead! On this note i would like to point out that a move to POS is not a real solution as POS coins still have not figure out the distribution problem. imagine having low mount of coins and trying to stake. you will wait for days. hence it will prompt you to close your wallet. this will create a loss of network nodes and only the big holders will be incentive to keep their wallets on. Please share your thoughts! http://forum.givekarma.net/index.php?topic=60.0we have never liked the whole PoS idea - and never will ... coins ( or ANY currency for that matter ) is for the USE of the currency - not to stash ... the more mining there is - the more stable the network ... the more use of the coin - the more valuable the coin ... i agree that really only the bag holders would benefit greatly from a PoS situation ... i know - we have a few ... and yet - we really dont like the whole PoS situation ... but we are miners at heart - and the farm wasnt built in a day - which is why we like to put it to good use ... especially x11 ... #crysx

Hello everyone
As always as before, I am for the development and betterment of KARMA. We acknowledge the problems and the shortcomings that we face now.
Realistically speaking, because of the sheer amount of "greener pastures" outside Karma community, we will certainly face the hardship of finding a capable, willing and at the same time trustworthy dev to implement what should be implemented in our coin code. Yet as we all know and Bitwho have mentioned before...we went thru the worst of situations and we have come out shining. Not so shiny as to launch our coin as to where it should be, but we can be proud nonetheless because those situations never did cripple our community and our coin.
With that said. Let us take things slowly. Opting for the sure "working" things that we have rather than the things we think we should have and yet would put everything in peril. Let us take those necessary forward steps, as long as we are sure of our coins and community's safety first.
I am a bit tied to my offline activities as of now, but every time the opportunity come up, I push for the spread of Karma coin knowledge. So you can be sure that whatever I am responsible for, before-- I am still keeping maintenance of them.
Whatever the community agrees upon I will be in support of them as long as they are built upon a solid foundation of knowledge and safety net.
BTW, nice to see our community more active again, after the MINTPAL's disaster.
Good Karma everyone.

Hello East, can we turn to the dev another coin, is it reasonable?

It is clear that a hard fork is needed. Maybe, this can even be an opportunity to innovate....

But everyone welcome to share their thought now! I open a thread in the forum to focus on this. #crysx Yes, but a many billions of karma will be in wallets rather than exchanges and price may not be so low. Price still interests us, right? Chears i still dont see HOW the value of ANY coin can be increased ( unless it is artificially by pumps ) by hoarding coins - and getting paid a small amount every x minutes for hoarding ... the current hashrate for karma at the moment is around 230MH ... when we were mining on and off - we had 250MH invested in the coin from our farm ... this in turn mints more coins which in turn allows the network to become a hell of a lot more stable ... when more miners come into the scene - the hashrate soars and stabilizes the karma network ... and mints more coins ... to this day - there is not one coin that has had any real success just by hoarding - because no one make 'money' off of the coin ... the real value comes when a coin can ACTUALLY be USED ... if there was a benefit for us to keep the stash of coins we have in our wallet - PoS or not - then we would ... but the way the trend ( these days ) is going towards PoS - the only coins that we WILL be hoarding - are the ones that have use for ... like bitcoin and dash ... and funnily enough - neither of those coins are PoS based ... all im saying is - interest is easily lost in the community if you put a coin in a situation where people just forget about it ... i truly believe that is what PoS does ... my opinion only here ... but ill back it all the way ... hard fork the coin - FIX the problem at hand - move forward ... this is just stagnating the coin even further - and the PoS situation is just going to make people like me ( us - the farm ) disinterested - no matter what you do with the coin ... my two bits worth ... #crysx

Hello East, can we turn to the dev another coin, is it reasonable? It's a bit complicated...there are many things to consider first..well, first we should decide if we have to really do the hard fork and what additional features and functions we should have when we do that. Then when everything is finalized...we will consider the DEV. Be sure to take part in Bitwho's thread about this. http://forum.givekarma.net/index.php?topic=60.0-east
