Hi all,

Karma Sides are temporary down due to a Hacker Attack we experienced the past days. They found an open Door through a Wordpress Plugin from a Customers Website and used it to take over the entire Server. We are still working on Restoring all sites from Backup.

Sorry for the inconvenience, the Site will be back soon

Best,
André

Hi guys,

As per the suggestion of Bitwho, we are maintaining the service of https://chainz.cryptoid.info/karm/# Karma block explorer.

I have paid for another 98 days as shown by this transaction,

https://blockchain.info/tx/548fa6144efeda5860b8cf8a8e33b740e29d6d81fbc3d993c2741a66fd00e74a

With approx. 68,750,000 worth of Karma at 0.00000016 Litoshis each.

This way, we will keep all Karma related services functioning until the community agree on how to move forward later on.

Way to go east!

Sadly, the network is in a bit of a mess at the moment.

Hiro missed a trick with the hardfork, shoulda changed the pchMessageStart string which was fumbled by the original Karmacoin “dev”. A whole bunch of lacklustre devs have generated alts with that same pchMessageStart string - despite it being documented as supposedly  a unique identifier

Reddcoin: https://github.com/reddcoin-project/reddcoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L3618
Code:
unsigned char pchMessageStart[4] = { 0xfb, 0xc0, 0xb6, 0xdb }; // Reddcoin: increase each by adding 2 to bitcoin's value.

(Reddcoin predates Karma, it's Karma dev's error to use the same string.)

Karma - https://github.com/karmateam/karma/blob/master-0.8/src/main.cpp#L3298
Code:
unsigned char pchMessageStart[4] = { 0xfb, 0xc0, 0xb6, 0xdb }; // Karma: increase each by adding 2 to bitcoin's value.

Worldcoin - https://github.com/coinkeeper/2015-06-22_19-19_worldcoin/blob/dev-0.8/src/main.cpp#L3155
Code:
unsigned char pchMessageStart[4] = { 0xfb, 0xc0, 0xb6, 0xdb }; // Worldcoin: increase each by adding 2 to worldcoin's value.

This is why there is an entertainingly wide variety of sub-versions appearing in the block explorer's listing https://chainz.cryptoid.info/karm/#!network

All those 73 “/Satoshi:0.10.2.2/” clients are nothing at all to do with Karma, they're clients for another coin. The “/Satoshi:0.8.6.5/” looks plausible but again, Karma could just be sharing a pchMessageStart and a version string with yet another coin.

Interesting info.
So how we move forward?

Looks like a softfork is required.

Clearly, nodes from the other alts are having a deleterious effect ...

Dunno if it’s related but the karmad daemon hosted on my server that feeds my nearly-complete RPC-based explorer crashed without logging any error. I've restarted it in the expectation of it crashing again but, as the resultant RPC timeouts are dragging at the heels of my app, I'll be tempted to just let it lie next time and remove it from the explorer config.

can you just change the
Code:
unsigned char pchMessageStart[4] = { 0xfb, 0xc0, 0xb6, 0xdb }; // Reddcoin: increase each by adding 2 to bitcoin's value.

??

how would one soft fork such a change? does it effect the chain or just client communications?

i thought maybe you could create a unique version number and block the differing versions.

Hi guys,

I'm sorry about the news and circumstances that affect Karma. I have tried logging to Cryptsy but seems it is having some kind of technical difficulties at the moment.

This is the reason why, I would be distributing the nhzKarm bonuses from now on using either HZ coins or Karma coins. The period of July-Sept 2015 bonuses have been sent to your HZ wallet addresses.

Because we have burnt the remaining unsold nhzKarm assets as recorded in this transaction: 1303285287515030102   nhzKARM   16/07/2015 14:33:29   64'356'143  NHZ-8HAA-H88W-UVT5-DUGLV, the 2% limit before is effectively raised to 6.65609% of the remaining 27,643,857 nhzKarm assets in circulation and held by you.

The Bonus for this period is 580,000 HZ coins. For Example let's say you have 1,840,000 nhzKarm assets which is 2% limit before and you got it at 0.01HZ, it meant that you sent to the asset-issuer-wallet an amount of 18,400 HZ which at this bonus round received 38,605 HZ, with 3 more quarters to come till June 2016. Nice is it not? Well, at least thru this activity we are ensuring the survival of Karma.

To those who have the asset and yet have not submitted their wallet address to NHZ-793P-2V2F-4TJS-62775, you are hereby given one week to do so and receive this round's bonus.

This will be the last time I will post about this Karma support asset here. All succeeding information will be posted on our Facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/nhzKARM/. All other details and chain of events can also be found there. Thank you very much.

Good Karma everyone.

Hi guys. i had some problems with my computer handling the karma claims. well power supply was dead. and at the same time swamped with work. busy season. But i was finally able to sit down and swap a new power supply couple days ago. I messaged about ~30 people who had contacted me during this time off. Please check your emails if you were part of it.

For anyone who has not yet bothered. Do it now. Hundred of users got their karma coin back already. : )

cheers

Oi, I have recently brought my old miner to life and it has old wallet version 0.8.6.2.5 on it.
What do I need to do to get everything running on the latest wallet?

I guess I should also ask if this coin is even alive?

Of course it's alive Smiley
Just go to the OP -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=579973.0
And download the lastest wallet version

Karma config setting
Code:
rpcuser=karmaname
rpcpassword=karmapass
rpcport=9432
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
daemon=1
server=1
addnode=54.234.181.73:9432
addnode=204.246.67.106:9432
addnode=188.165.2.147:9432
addnode=23.254.97.16:9432
addnode=188.226.177.232:9432
addnode=68.5.34.219:9432
addnode=92.222.38.197:9432
addnode=209.188.18.188:9432

For a quick solution to syncing with the network
Code:
in your wallet go to help | debug window | console and type in:

addnode 54.234.181.73:9432 add

addnode 204.246.67.106:9432 add

addnode 188.165.2.147:9432 add

addnode 23.254.97.16:9432 add

close the popup window, wait for your wallet to start syncing.Wait up to 15-30 mins

If you have problem with syncing you can download bootstrap from here

None of these wallet fixes are working, That leads to alot of mining straight to the exchange, which leads to dumping, which is happening now...better fix something fast
