Where is this 5GH/s network hashrate coming from?  All the pools in the OP combined add up to less than 0.5GH/s.  In fact, as the net hash rises people leave the pools.  Now less than 90MH/s on xhash and about 160MH/s on suchpool.

suchpool:
Est. Avg. Time per Round (Pool)   1 hour 18 minutes 58 seconds

xhash:
Est. Avg. Time per Round (Pool)   2 hours 20 minutes 42 seconds

And this price is down to 11 satoshi.

It does look like someone is autoselling into the market.

It will be interesting to see how the price evolves as more people begin to use BLUE as a rapid transactional protocol.

There isn't really a need for coin control if it isn't PoS yet

Yes we realize that.

Originally there were some errors with coin control. Those have been fixed in the latest version and we are now ready for the staking phase to begin (currently set to block 100,000.00).

We are currently considering the following changes to BlueCoins economic and technical structure:

  • Dropping the PoS activation to Block 50,000 lowering the initial issuance to 500 Million BLUE instead of 1 Billion.
  • Changing the PoS reward to 1.5% yearly and giving the other 1.5% to the miners who opt-in to secure the network for life. Initial annual inflation rate would be roughly 15 million BLUE.
  • Maintaining the X11 PoW algorithm beyond block 50,000.00 effectively making BlueCoin a hybrid PoS/PoW coin, and ensuring that the network is secured against 51% attacks.

I like everything except the PoS interest rate.  You need to give people an incentive to hold the coin by raising the interest rate then slowly dropping the interest rate every year until it is say 1%.  You could lower the block reward gradually to offset this.

What would be your ideal setup for year 1,2,3 for PoS and PoW?

We will have a vote and try to get some community consensus before doing any of these major changes.

I personally don't like POS coins. That being said...Hybrid most definitely, 10% split 50/50 1st year (this is roughly a 70 coin block reward at 1.5 minutes) going to 6% 2nd year then 3% thereafter.  At 3% you're looking at 7.5 mil for POS and 7.5 mil for POW. You're now down to a ~20 coin block reward. POS will have to bring the price up or there will be no miners.

Yeah i agree, i would probably start pos at around block 50k and use the rest for boosting pos for the first 3 years give high interest rates and then lower.

After 3 years if your coin can't live by itself then it's a lost cause...

Same here, I am a fan of the hybrid myself. Blue has done the right things for me to play ball, more than any other crypto currency. Luckily, I am an early adopter since it doesn't have much hype yet... I expect this to grow rapidly very soon once more people hear about what blue is doing. Keep sharing this around people, Blue is onto something here.

Plus not to mention, DIFFICULTY IS 200.xx?  and its beyond the relaunch point Wink
Good sign.
