Only 14 pull requests were merged today  Cool

and GUI development is healthy

i tested a recent commit from Ilya's github, video here: http://sendvid.com/nyyb48w9 (GUI launch at ~03:00)

I got a virus-like pop-up to download a fake Chrome browser when I clicked on the video on that page. Just a heads up, people. Can you not post it on YouTube?

@papa_lazzarou , would it be possible to include the median blocksize over the last n blocks on moneroblocks.info ? for n, could you set it at 200, 400, 600, 800, 1k?

http://moneroblocks.info/stats

How do you like it? I'm afraid it's not very sexy but more than half the blocks are empty...

awesome!! thanks! I assume thats bytes?

Actually.. no.

You see, http://moneroblocks.info is the only monero block explorer that measures block size in bananas.

Tongue

Thats what I've been speculating!

Thanks again - this is so cool. Now every user can see if our blocksize is actually going to expand at any point.
And get the daily recommended amount of potassium at the same time!

You need to secure your browser. ABPlus, NoScript, Https everywhere at the very least.

Just saw this article. Don't think it has been posted yet. It's about the Freewallet smartphone apps for Bitcoin, Ethereum and Monero being approved for the apple app store so they are available on android and iPhone:

http://www.econotimes.com/Apple-approves-Freewallet-adds-Ethereum-bitcoin-and-Monero-wallets-to-App-Store-237638

I am not likely to use a mobile wallet myself in the near future but it is always good to see more wallet options appearing, provided they are solid. Any opinions on this one?
Cheers, Q

I remember someone on /r/bitcoin having a few good reasons why freewallet was very scammy. I wouldn't use it.

I think Monero (XMR) is very interesting.

Interesting.  That doesn't seem like Steve "competition is a sin" Jobs' usual MO.

Tinfoil hat(Apple approved scammy wallet so they can panic the herd and then justify banning all of them forever, Because Muh ApplePay)

Unless they found (or BCX sold them) a way to taint/track XMR, this goes directly against Apple's "Be as Evil as Possible" walled-garden philosophy.

Perhaps Apple engineers brush with being the FBI's eternal handmaidens (if not the Fappening) forced them to a late life Come-to-Satoshi cypherpunk conversion?   Tongue

Beta version is ready, we are only waiting for binaries at this point. You can compile Monero with GUI if you want to try it right now. Could still be some bugs to fix though.

Regarding when?

Copied from the Speculation thread:

http://forklog.net/exante-winklevoss-brothers-etf-to-skyrocket-bitcoin-price/

Monero mentioned !

"FL: Your fund was launched a few years ago. How many cryptocurrencies have entered the market during these years? Do you invest in anything, besides bitcoin?

AK: Yes, the other cryptocurrencies, such as Litecoin, have appeared after the first bitcoin “boom”. Their number was rising, but, to tell the truth, we were not interested in it at all. It was funny. It was something like pump-and-dump scheme. Technologically, we were only interested in Ethereum, yet we did not invest. Actually, after a more detailed assessment, I am in doubt that we will. We are also interested in Monero. Its creators, at least, have made a technologically real great thing that makes this project more valuable when compared to bitcoin. We like it. That’s all I guess."

One of the PRs was for the Godot-UI (dangles carrot) but many have come before.

As far as the answer to the ultimate question (no not that one), how would I know?  Grin

No.  It's not.

It simply has nothing at all to do with Monero.  If Mycelium was integrating both Dash and Monero, then we'd have something.  Monero isn't even mentioned in the article.

Give it a rest.

It's just NoodleDoodle's work. I can ask if he'd like to accept donations for it. He said he doesn't want to release the source for the current version with RingCT coming so soontm.
