Remember that Bitcoin is still beta software. Don't put all of your money into BTC!

In an ideal investment portfolio it is necessary a percentage of 60% of gold and 40% of other type of investment (or bitcoin  Smiley).

If everybody thought that way, gold would go through the roof.  Grin
On a serious note, what people think of as "ideal portfolio" includes stocks, bonds, real estate and a small amount in alternate investments (commodities, crypto-currencies, etc)

There seem to be a deflationary collapse in process. Holding cash, however illogical it seems today, may be the wisest course of action.

I would pick 50/50. Gold because of his consistency over time, Bitcoin because of the easeness of movement and possible big uprise in the future.

Due to their correlation I would combine your investment in bitcoin and gold:
Here's how and why I would do it : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=833857.0

Latest posters are sensible, they deserve pats on their greasy domes.

Bitcoin AND Gold, mix the two, they are both real money.

50/50 is a good mix to start with.

EDIT: Silver rounds are A1 also.

Trusting other animals to look after your resources is silly behavior, no other creature would do such an absurd thing.

I would pick gold. Reason. Everybody knows and accept gold value but not everybody acknowledges bitcoin. Is as simple as that.
