NXT mainnet is currently having an unknown issue that is causing transactions not to be accepted into blocks. As a result, all transactions on the main NXT network are waiting in the unconfrmed tx buffer.
NXT devs are working on the issue, and would like to ask everyone to be patient. And, er, please don't submit any new transactions for a while......

Good news all round....and it looks like the blockchain is back to normal operation again. There might still be some delayed tx's, so if you have any issues, post 'em here.

I'm getting the following error on the Mac version of the latest update (1.4.8 not 1.4.7): "An error occurred, the server has quit. Please restart the application."
(Also, and unrelated, I tried to create a next forum account but the human verification test doesn't seem to work properly. I tried a few different things and it always rejects the code.)

The reason is you are Downgrading from 1.4.8 to 1.4.7. The blockchain database has been updated to 1.4.8, and that's why you seems to be getting issues. Things you need to do: 1. Open the Finder 2. Go to the Menu Bar and open the "Go" menu. 3. Select the entry: "Go to Folder..." 4. Enter the path of the Application Support folder: 5. ~/Library/Application Support Tip: You can display the Library folder if you press the ALT-Key while in the "Go" menu. * You'll need to delete the existing blockchain database from: ~/Library/Application Support/NXT Wallet - File names will be something like h2, db etc. There'll be 2 files there. 1 of them would be around 1.22 GB. Delete both. * Download latest blockchain databse from peerexplorer.com - Go to bottom of the page, and there'll find the link to download latest blockchain database backup. - Once downloaded, extract the database, and move the files to ~/Library/Application Support/NXT Wallet * Latest NXT version is 1.4.17, so you should update your NXT to latest release. - Download latest package: https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/downloads/nxt-client-1.4.17.zip - Extract the archive and you'll get a folder 'nxt'. - Go to /Applications in Finder - Right click on NXT Wallet Application, and select 'Show Package Contents'. - Go to Resources and look for 'nxt' folder there in directories. - Wherever you find 'nxt' folder there, replace it with the one you extracted from the new archive. Now start the NXT Wallet, and you should be good to go. Hope these instructions might help. Cheers

Sorry, I accidentally said 1.4.7 instead of 1.4.17 in my first post. Regardless, the windows and mac wallet download links on the nxt website give you 1.4.8. Seems like that should be updated because at the moment those wallets are probably just giving newcomers error messages.

1.4.8 should give the option to upgrade to the latest version IIRC.
One for Berserk I think

Just because a lot of people like looking at numbers on screen and attaching significance to them... Someone has converted 300 bitcoins to mgwBTC through Nxt's Multigateway exchange. And now they are trying to convert them all to Nxt As you can see, they want 9 million NXT in exchange for the BTC. So we may have a new floor price. Or not But there is definitely 300 BTC within Multigateway, currently patiently hoping to become NXTs

Seems to me that someone uses the cheap price to get into Nxt. I should not wonder if there are some big investors watching Nxt. I prefer more decentralized exchange MGW because counterparty risk is lower than Poloniex.

I have a question, if I issue a currency (via MS) and don't select any of the 'type' boxes (Exchangeable, Controllable, Reservable, Claimable, Mintable, Non-Shuffleable,) what 'type' of instrument will be created?
My objective is to create a currency that could be traded at a Poloniex type of exchange with no strings attached.
thanks

Thanks for the assist thread @ NXT forum. And thanks for your opinion, I actually value your opinion. Is there a way to reserve the name of a currency long before you issue it? I have the name of the currency however I have not finalized the terms under which it will be issued. Also, if I'm able to reserve specific currency names (like the way it is done with Aliases) I could then poll the community do decide which name to go with without fear of losing the names.

According to the below statement, property changes should work if you are prepared to spend another 40 NXT: "Re-issuing an existing currency with different properties costs 40 NXT regardless of the number of the currency code length." Any of the currencies should be easily traded at an exchange. I think you really need to understand what each type does and whether you want it or not before you start using your currency. Otherwise you are unlikely to end up with what you want.
