Is this a good idea or not?
It would be more user friendly to have "remember secret phrase for this session" checked by default on login so the users won't have to enter the secret phrase sending a message/bid each time. If that isn't secure, maybe there could be a 4 to 6 digit pin number that the user could use instead of entering the whole password again. The app should disable the pin number and require full password after 5 unsuccessful pin numbers are used. So the login screen would look like this: "Remember password during this session" checked by default Under it, a text field that would say "pin number for the session" (only 4 to 6 numbers allowed) I like these two ideas. I'm not sure if the pin option should be added, because there will be people that will find it complicated too and seroiusly, security is not a simple concept, but advanced settings option for altering a default setting and a "remember session" tickbox would simplify the procedure quite a lot for some people.

I think that pin number would be simple concept to grab. It would be just any 4-6 digit number the user would choose at login, then they won't have to type (or copy & paste) the long twelve word password again for the session.

hello there any client nxt that does not require Java There are online wallets, I presume these do all the java stuff required to talk to the Nxt core in the back end. Take a look at these: https://wallet.mynxt.info/ and https://nxtblocks.info/#walletAnd come back and tell us if this worked, I don't have much experience with the web wallets

Hi Guys! btc-e have just started PAMM accounts service for traders & investors https://pamm.btc-e.com/en (what is PAMM accounts http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percent_allocation_management_module) This trading model are very successfully in Forex market.. My idea are: What you guys think about that if we will have a Dezentralized PAMM system, traders can open some PAMM accs and trade with this account on AE, and any people can invest in to this trader, and if trader make profit he get some % and investor also.. And this is next step to promote nem in masses.

Cross-posting from NXTforum as I'm not sure I've got this right: https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/nxt-ring/msg54532/#msg54532The question is basically what's the shortest passphrase that's secure using only numerals. My original guess was 40 digits, but I think that's wrong because it doesn't take into account the public key generation, only the 128-bit limitation of the Curve function in creating the address. Failing that, what would the shortest secure base-32 key be (numbers and caps only)?

40 numbers should be fine.

http://www.lockdown.co.uk/?pg=combi&s=articlesCheck out the 'B33r&Mug' example near the bottom. Make that style up to 12 characters long, and you will only have reason to worry when quantum-computing is mainstream.

Please keep in mind that this site is from 2009. Nowadays gpu farms are used for password cracking which are a lot more efficient as a "pentium 100".

And actually, the page wasnt able to note the amount of hashing power now available, due to a certain distributed network in 2014! Best we stick with 30+ characters then, and/or more factors.
