thanks for the article on pool set up Sm0k3WeeDEveryD@Y.

I haven't set up a pool before but I could help given access to a server.

I just don't have the bandwidth / hardware to do it -- I do, however, have programming and database experience (it's my job).

really now...? not sure if my ram would be sufficient, also depending on the platform you prefer id have to install linux.

It would be enough RAM for a small pool IMO if you could get someone to help you out I'm sure you could start a pool soon!

I know a couple of users who set up pools, they rent the rigs from Digital Ocean.  For little money you can get the bandwidth and the horsepower you need.

If you rent a machine, it all depends on how many cores, and the disk space.

Yes that's correct seems like there's no more problems. The issues were most likely from the sudden dramatic increase in network hash rate.

I have some tools but not enough knowledge. If someone wants to contact me and utilize my machine and network for a pool to help get things going I do not mind. I can set up an OS of your choice as well as SSH or something similar. I posted server stats on the last page. Other than that someone might be silently working on one, not too sure.

Yeah, I don't mind trying it out assuming you'll let me have access to the server. I've got some consulting work I've got to do, but I should have some time to work on this. I'll have to look up some tutorials also but I believe most (if not all) pools are running under linux -- so I'm thinking Ubuntu is preferred.
