How the hell did 2million (About 15%) of the coins get mined in just 1-2 weeks?

Do people seriously not read the announcements?  It's right there, spelled out:

159.39 coins per block
1440 blocks per day

That's 229,521.6 coins PER DAY

3,213,302.4 coins in 2 weeks.

You missed the 1% reduction every week. current block reward is 157.9561 NAUT.

How is the number of coins determined? I thought it would be based on the reduction. But, I'm not sure.

There is also a transaction fee that miners make, .01 NAUT per transaction. So, if the coin is highly transacted, then there will be fees for miners to maintain the blockchain and gain coin.

My guess is that your stabilization fund sunk the price in the first place; therefore, destabilizing the price so you can then step in and save it...from yourself.

It's still very early days for this coin.  As long as support for it continues it has a bright future.  People are dumping coins to buy BTC/DRK etc - whatever is up right now.  Those same people will be buying NAUT when it goes up.   The initial price explosion was artificial anyway and never sustainable.  Rather than panicking those of us who see a future for this coin should use the opportunity to buy it up cheaply.  There are no guarantees but the old rule of buy low and sell high generally works.

Yes, typical dumb money. They buy whatever is UP, and sell whatever is LOW! The smart money does the opposite, preying on the dumb money and making wads of cash.

I will try to post about the NSF as much as I can...with all the exchanges it is a little more work than I anticipated, but I will put a team member on it and hopefully these updates can be more regular.

Ultimately there are still plenty of people with faith in this coin overall. Myself included. Don't be discouraged, this is the internet, don't be discouraged because there are jerks out there who try to piss all over your parade.

I still have my project aimed specifically at this coin and hope to have it see light of day within a month or so, at least a beta version of it anyway.

And I'll still wear my t-shirt proudly :-)

What is fascinating to me is that the NSF will buy at any price, so why a miner would sell at these prices is unclear.

No, actually it's crystal clear if you have the slightest clue how all this works.

Don't let some clowns hold you down, that's exactly what they want. The internet is populated by many trolls - you should simply ignore them (and maybe even just remove their responses, nobody's going to mind if you do). The numbers are really fucking simple.  Which part exactly do you disagree with about Nautalis?  The total number of coins?  The block reward?  The block time?  Those are the parameters, and they are all right in the OP.  The only way it could take significantly longer is if the Nautilus code is majorly broken and there is a very serious problem with the difficulty retargeting.  I don't think that's the case, so I trust that it will mine itself out in the time indicated by the parameters.

Yea I understand that most miners are not that smart, and they mine a coin and dump it.  I know exactly how mining works and why it is done, ive just never done it because so far in crypto history buying and holding a coin is 1000 x more profitable.

As stated previously in the thread even if the coins were mined out, which i doubt will happen cause already most of the miners are crying they can't even find a block.  If it does get mined out, the market will not get dumped on so hard and the value will go up, all of the sudden the small fee for mining a block isn't so small.

One of the main reasons I really like this coin is because it feels a lot like NMC, I remember the first time NMC died, I forget the actual reason but it was something like "a problem with the source code".

When NMC died shortly after it hit 20 dollars, I think it was about 30 cents when it died.

None of what you say is going to matter, all that matters is if people want the coin or not.  Thats why BTC has value cause people hold it and spend it.  

This is the first alt coin in history, besides LTC, that someone actually put a face behind, that has a lot to lose.  It builds a level of trust on who is going to be accountable for the coin.  So I have a lot more faith in it than most alt coins.  Others will feel the same.

Its nice to know your buying a coin that isn't the biggest piece of shit scam coin in history, like your worthless korea coin that you pimp.

in a PoW system the primary role of miners is to secure the network...
if they have no incentive to mine then the network hash rate drops which makes it easier for attackers to gain control of the network and spend other peoples coins.

this is bad for a currency that needs to be "trusted" in order to function.. very bad.. I'm sure you can figure out why.

and yes a mining fee by itself would be Small compensation compared to what people can get mining other coins....
