Dear Cryptomoms and supporters,
This is an unusual appeal but I believe that it is justifiable for a highly worthy cause. Since we are currency neutral at Cryptomoms where everyone is welcome, we are making a rare exception to openly support a single currency. Although our core mission is to encourage and assist women to participate in the emerging world of crypto currency overwhelmingly dominated by men, we have also acknowledged the need to invite the participation of our industry peers and advocates to join force with us.
A very bad thing happened to one of our industry peers, AsiaCoin, a week ago. While being regarded as one of the most promising altcoins being introduced recently, it was discovered that the original developer had secretly mined over 3 billion Asia Coins and already cashed out about 30 million. Upon multiple confirmations to be creditable, AsiaCoin was immediately suspended by every exchange, dealing a devastating blow to all the investors. A list of those affected can be found here:
http://cryptosteam.com. It is heartbreaking to see so many innocent investors who must have felt a total loss and the sense of helplessness for not being able to do anything about it.
This would have been a very sad week for our industry that is already in a depressed state after many incidents of bad behaviors and reckless conducts by a few individuals. Thanks to the leadership of more than a dozen of very talented supporters, AsiaCoin community decided to take over total control of the situation. Having been a participant in the technology field since the beginning of the personal computers in the late 1980s I can testify that this is the best damage control case that I have witnessed. To say that I am totally amazed and inspired is an understand statement. The team very quickly developed a viable game plan and executed it flawlessly. They accomplished their mission in an environment with constant hostilities from skeptics and haters, including some bad press which I considered not helpful to put it mildly. The media community should consider this case most news worthy to highlight the constructive power of good to overcome the destructive force of evil.
The saving of AsiaCoin should go down in history as a proud moment of the cryptocurrency world. I urge all of our supporters of Cryptomoms to reach out and support AsiaCoin in anyway possible. For full disclosure, I was not a stake holder of AsiaCoin before the meltdown. As a Malaysian Chinese American I am impressed and inspired by the community efforts in times of needs.
