Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

well crap.
My push to github didn't work. I just checked the source there and the change needed for PoW isn't there.
No biggy.

I will do it again and set it for block 220,000

I will let you know when the new wallet is ready.

sorry for the let down - very anti-climatic  Undecided

That's just it - note only did I check, but I ran the code for a week on a test network - it had a different block set to fork at, but it worked.
I even setup a pool on the test network and used my gpu rig.
Somehow one little bit of code (half a line) for PoW didn't make it to production, but the correction for staking did.
 Huh

strange thing with github.
I usually use push http://github.com and had always worked fine - until recently - a lot of time outs, errors ect., even pulls and clone had problems.
yesterday I went back to https and all the problems went away.
The missing edit error was probably me though - still can't figure out how it happened. All well, push on Smiley

depends on how you look at it.
The wallet does have a bitcoin miner in it - most do.
The older wallets used irc to find connections - don't know about the newer ones.

So 2 out of 61 scanners did get triggered - not sure if you want to count that as a false positive or not Smiley

just out of curiosity - I downloaded a fresh bitcoin wallet from bitcoin.org and sent it to virus total:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/8a2a5657a8b3243ab4f549bb4b16c8c34b47acfb5c6bc07eb0b875ee71a3ad5b/detection
7 out of 60 hits.

litecoin wallet from litecoin.org:

5 out of 63 hits.

well that worked nicely that time.
mining is working well - difficulty is really low right now, you could probably get a few with cpu mining.

if you add this to your LitecoinPlus.conf file, it will turn on the miner in your wallet:
gen=1

it will use some of your cpu power to mine, so when the difficulty goes up, and you don't get any blocks for several hours, you can remove the gen=1 to turn it back off

you will have to restart the wallet for it to take effect.

mining difficulty is slowly rising, probably too high for cpu mining - time to get rid of the gen=1
single gpu miners are probably slowing down by now.
multiple gpu rigs should work for a day or two.
I'm on vacation next week. when I get back I will put up a pool for litecoinplus.
also need to make a real website and replace the temp one at litecoinplus.co
I will wait until that is done before making a new announcement thread.
then we can work at getting listed  Grin

Great work reviving this. I must admit, it is crazy to see how this technology stands...

I will be on vacation Aug 20 to Aug 27th
The plan when I get back is to update the web site, make new announcement threads and start working on exchange listings.
Cryptopia requires dotcoin
Nova requires npoints.

start saving up if you can, every little bit helps.

I've been mining LCP - so if someone wants to trade lcp for dot, or npoints - let me know
