Well what i want to know is why my daily btc amount is still lowering even though the price btc and difficulty has been relatively stable for months.  I admit my mere 60 gh/s isn't a lot but it used to pay ~ 2 months ago .0003 btc daily now its .0002. And what happen to the spondalies agreement? Thought that would actually save us money. Still that 2/3 maintenance fee must be helping someone, shame its not me Sad

Just got the block-size increase message.

First this is great to ask.

But... why poll on facebook?

You have a website, with proper user accounts and authentication, you are a technology company, polls are not complex tech, it should be there, on genesis-mining.com, rather on a social network which can be gamed/abused in a thousand ways.

For a question like "which color should my next necktie be", facebook polls are ok, but for serious questions, it's just not suitable.
Just my 2 mBTC.

I got it myself. Instead of making polls in only facebook. I think it is better to make a polls at another place as well. Bitcointalk could be one of the place for that. Also will there be a Q&A session for it? because I have some question for Marco regarding it and I think if I reply the email, he wont see my question there so it is a waste

Thank you for the feedback. I am following the block size discussion for a long time. The consensus in Genesis Mining team is that we should not stay with 1 MB blocks (larger blocks are needed going forward).

If you have any questions please feel free to ask them here.

Cheers, Marco

Is purchasing a starter contract even worth it?

Seems 'too good to be true'....and we all know that if it seems that way, it probably is best to avoid.  Sorry for any ignorance, I'm just looking for a serious reply here.  Maybe if someone could comment with an unbiased pros & cons approach to signing up.  I've been mining an altcoin which got me just enough profit to either purchase this starter package w/ genesis, or a piece of hardware to start anew (but take longer to reach the profit I've made thus far).  Thanks in advance for any and all help!

I don't know anything about a starter package, but for me last November I invested just over 1 btc in genesis, since then I earn daily 1/3 of what I should be making, from my investment, the other 2/3 are fees.. I guess😕

And for as for roi, its going be a very, very long time seeing I am earning less then 5 cent a day @ 60 gh/s.

The consensus in Genesis Mining team is that we should not stay with 1 MB blocks (larger blocks are needed going forward).

The direct consequence of not increasing block size would be an increase in fees, and a reduced bitcoin usage (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1078123.0).

TBH I do not think there is any point to a block limit anymore: it was there to avoid very large spam blocks, but given the dynamics of the network, very large spam blocks are likely to be orphaned (if only because they're slower to propagate), and the spam transactions behind them would cause more trouble anyway (and have to be dealt with differently). The difficulty makes it hard/impossible for a spammer to mine its own blocks on its own.

Having a mechanism in the wallet that "forgets" about orphaned blocks after a few hundred or thousand blocks might thus be enough to prevent large spam blocks from becoming a blockchain bloat problem.

Ya i did the math on that 1.25 th/s you should be getting at current diff/market price ~ $3.01 a day so they are taking 2/3 in fees.

Now who's making the money? We already paid for your hardware and still you are raping your customers... Nice at least old CEX had the common since to stop mining instead of going past 70% in fees. But there again we had the option to sell our gh/s back, so i guess we are properly fucked here in genesis land  Smiley

No wonder Marco is all over the internets doing interviews, public speaking.. more sheep to the slaughter hun Marco?

Still a 500Day ROI time is seen as short return on investment.

Investment funds see 3 years as short. And if bitcoins go up, (and if still can happen) roi can be shorter, or if drops longer.

And Play whit the coin selector sometimes...

What are those big news that were to surface long ago and going to change the industry? When will they be at least announced? You know you are considered legit, but unprofitable, so i think the time for some changes or innovations is now! X11? it's almost too late... Cloudstaking? - you would be second in the business, but could make some waves if you do it right... new coin? - don't even try Grin So?

I also want an answer for this. You can't announce it in your newsletter and then wait 3 months with nothing new...

+ I agree about the facebook pool. You've got a website, use it for questions&answers

I see some cloud operators going into staking to supplement cloudmining payments, GHX dide that and I thing this is a great idea. Maybe Genesis should think about it cause 550 days ROI is probably the longest in the market. Again 550 days with constant diff which ll never happen.
