Any discount codes this round? Smiley I recall there was one the last round. Smiley

No not this time, we had an 8% code for a few days to celebrate the live streaming website we had put up.

To be honest there are plenty of codes around and users can use those for the time being. Share codes with your friends etc.

Just be wary of codes that offer large discounts as normally that is not the case, for example 8% or 10% codes, unless the code is from us that is. The most we have ever done is 8% and that code lasted just a few days.

So true. I have seen people claiming 8, to 12% discount. In real world they give only 2.5%  Undecided
If you need a valid voucher, there is one 3%er in my spoiler.

Hi Genesis Mining Community.

Today we started the US-wide campaign ‪#‎ExploreBitcoin‬, to increase awareness about Bitcoin! You can find billboards, taxis ads and spinner signs across Southern Florida, San Francisco, LA, DC, Chicago and Boston.

Part 1: Proving that experts do not always get it right!
Some more 'expert' opinions are in the blog post:

“When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say.”
― George R.R. Martin, A Clash of Kings

Also just want to add what Wintermule has posted and that is that alot of customers would have got a 5% discount on their X11 contracts so infact purchasing 100 MH/s or more was eqv of 18 USD per MH/s

Yeah, 5% because they are old customers and had contracts that already have been cancelled and haven't ROI anything (I'm the living prove of this)

I won't fall for this again for sure.

Stay far away from GM. They are only mining for themselves.

I see it this way. The rull is I will mine one way or a other.

One of my GM accounts has 6.3 TH/s and 2.0 MH/s
If i want to have the same mining power i need to buy hardware right? Expensive hardware,..and i have to pay 23.5Euro cent for 1 Kilowatt / hour.
This will mine negative, i will lose after buying hardware maybe 10~12 euro`s a day on power bills.

Whit GM, i get my cloudmining $cost, and after that i got income thats  eating the startup cost.

So GM is absolutely the best option for me.

Or at least go to Hashnest (I've ROI with all my contracts there...).

Did you not posed in the hashie topic that you had invested in that and LTCGear?  Wink

Message to Genesis mining :

To be fair with your customers you have to re-activate the contracts you cancelled last month.

BTC price has increased of 42% at the time of speaking. You can't say the fees are covering the profit anymore.

Try to show us you care about your customers and are not mining only for yourself.

Of course it would be "nice" from a client's perspective. On the other hand expecting them to leave the space unused for such an amount of time is not efficient either. As far as I remember they already mentioned somewhere that they are removing old miners and replacing them by new ones.

While I understand the point, you should expect that mining companies work very efficiently. Just leaving outdated stuff installed (in case it could come back) causes a lot of opportunity cost. So I would not have a lot of hope in this case.

A short update on the current situation:

Due to recent price increases we are experiencing very high volume and demand. Also we hear a lot the question whether we are increasing the prices now as other services do.

To clarify the situation: Although we cannot promise how long we will be able to keep the sales open and match the demand, we will promise you that we are not increasing the prices now and that you can continue to purchase for same prices as before.

You can be sure that we are doing everything we can to expand our capacities as fast as possible.

Thank you for mining with us!

Plus, the costs, during the 20 days for example with maintenance fees that GM were paying for.

Glucose, take your account for example, you say you had 3TH/s, so thats 6 USD a day and over 20 days  that is 120 USD or more in total that you were not having to pay them for fees. They covered that out of their own pockets so to speak. When payouts were most likely negative as well, they were also paying that from their own pockets.

But yeh I agree with you it sucks...But like I have wrote before, it's not GMs fault that BTC price rose 10 days or so after contracts were terminated which would have been what, 30 days of no payouts...Who would have predicted that the price would go up like it has done.

Perhaps GM have already turned off those machines and were caught out too, after all having their machines not profitable for 10 days wouldn't have been good, so perhaps they thought BTC was just going to sit there. Unfortunately I do not know what but what Wintermute says does make sort of sense.

Other companies only have a 10 day policy and even on Hashnest there are people complaining about their contracts being terminated just like here too.

The other day buying power on this page, and they gave me a discount for the next purchase. When I use it reflects the discount, but when sending the BTC, tells me the real value without discount. Any idea that this problem?

Hello bittamak,

We are currently looking forward to an X11 relaunch as soon as our capacities are expanded.

Hope this helps!
