Mast(iff) name have fail, don't take it again . On exchange you see MAST,so people remind MAST name have fail.
Change name,a new one that can stick at this currency.
seattletu Have say a very good one, with Coinrecycler on wallet, it take all sense!
eXchange Based Payment XBP would be very great I think,a transparency name about direction of this coin.
Anyways, maybe start a vote about changing name, yes or no !?

CoinRecycler consists of two main features at the present time: anonymous transactions via exchanges, and easy conversion to MAST. Those are two very different, but powerful features; however, the current branding only suits the latter ("easy conversion to MAST"). The former feature ("anonymous transactions via exchanges") is not suited by the current branding.
Potential rebranding of the entire coin is a separate discussion point, but it seems there has been some confusion in the discussion thus far. MastiffCoin, or whatever a potentially rebranded name might be, is not *only* CoinRecycler -- and it certainly is not only *one* feature of CoinRecycler.
Our team's view is that rebranding the entire coin around any single feature or facet of the coin would be a mistake, whether that is either the "conversion" or "anonymous" feature of CoinRecycler, or future planned features like our upcoming short-term investment mechanism.

So since this coin will have so many dynamic features you think we should come up with something that doesn't mean anything, like Cinni, as you mentioned a few posts before? Probably a good idea since it won't be easy to describe all features of the coin in a name

Yes. Our team's view is that if we are going rebrand the coin, it needs to be to an image that suits any potential future development, features, and projects equally. Moving away from the dog-themed Mastiff with a rebranding to MastCoin with a simple logo seems like a good way to go, but as we've said before we are certainly open to discussion of alternative ideas.

Ok that makes sense, I was subconsciously making Mast and the recycler as one. So then Really the Best solution is the non specific Mastcoin naming. I have never had a problem with Mast as a name, but I never knew what a Tibetan Mastiff was until this coin. Mastcoin does roll off the tongue a little better too!

The problem with the name MAST is that it has a meaning already. I think we should come up with something fully abstract.

Those pharmacy companies use product with x's and z's because they are easy to remember. Like Zoloft or xanax. Perhaps we can use a name that is something random like the pharm companies use.

XMast .. drop the t... XMas Really? I cannot stress how hard it is to change MAST letters on Exchanges. MurderDeathKill quick. The Exchanges are not geared that way. It is essentially Deletion and creation, if the wallets get confused, it could knock the entire exchange down. They hate change wallets. Lets try to operate within the confines of anything in the Linux wallet cannot be changed. Everything in QT Windows can.

Maybe someone can ask bittrex Richie in irc if it would be a problem. I think the Dev seems be to okay with new symbol letters but maybe I am mistaken.

Yes, exchanges will not be eager to change the symbol. Changing anything aesthetic in the wallet, including the name, logo, etc. in the source/Windows/Mac is fine of course.

One option that we've discussed is that we could "rebrand" from MastiffCoin to just MastCoin, with a simple, clean logo. This would be sort of a Cinni-style approach, where the name doesn't have much meaning for itself, but its short, clean, and retains the exchange symbol. Something like this one that I just made: The letter M is mine, I claimed it.
