Does anyone know how much longer the CSC wallet will be "under maintenance" at Cryptsy.

This is starting to look fishy.

Quote
Hello Ivan,

I am sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
CSC wallet is down for maintenance .
There is no estimated time given by our technical team but rest assured
they are working on it and we will inform all once it has been restored.
Once its fixed, all transactions will go through accordingly.
Your patience is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Joyce

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

HDD? On Cryptsy? - such services are running RAIDs with redundancy. And everyday backups... But if they are tighten the purse strings - very may be...

Casinocoin wallet is back online Smiley

I suspected it was a drive failure due to the decreased performance of the array. So all the wallets had to taken down until it was rebuilt. But after further investigation it seems to be an issue with our utilization of the raid controller. Most were brought back up right away but some of the nodes had extremely high disk utilization and the heaviest disk writes needed to be moved around to balance the load. The node hosting casinocoin had upwards of 30Tb a day written to the array.

We do take strict backups and no data was ever at risk during this. I apologize for the downtime.

Just like I said, back online ASAP.

Cryptsy is as legit as they come.  Show me just one exchange that didn't get robbed in nearly 3 years [since inception].

Such an exchange doesn't exist.

Now, Casino can continue its monster run.

The dump was the result of all the weak hands dumping together when Cryptsy opened deposits. Now weak hands are gone, and price looks good still.  Smiley

Weird, could you check the debug.log file? Maybe it contains some specific info about whats going on.

Try deleting blockchain data by going to your appdata directory (on Windows) and deleting everything except the wallet.dat file (important) Always make a backup of your wallet.dat file before proceding. Hope this helps.  Smiley

Sometimes, you may need a resync, but it's always good to add additional nodes to your conf file too.

There should also be a command: casinocoind -resync

But this can take a long time.

Yep. Pretty rare and there's will only be 63 mil total in the end. Everyday ~28.8k new coins are minted. So we're a little more than halfway there now.

Keep in mind that it's been a pretty horrific year for anyone holding alts and there are likely a lot of traders that are hardup to take any profit. So expect some chop. That would be natural. We'll see an influx of traders willing to sell any uptick and also those attracted by the volatility.

Everyone,

Thanks for your support. I just wanted to make everyone aware that a BTC account has been setup to accept donations if anyone wishes to contribute for development. None of this money is for myself etc. This fund is strictly for outsourcing development and potentially to provide some support for a foundation if we can get one organized. So far, we've collected 5 BTC from members and I will be contributing some BTC myself in the next few weeks.

Currently, we've located a developer to assist with re-skinning the client in addition to making a few other aesthetic/marketing related changes. For this we have agreed to contract with this particular developer for up to 3 weeks starting in mid-october when he returns from vacation.

For this upcoming release, we are targeting the modernization of the client, adding additional GUI functionality, updating how DNS seeds are located, and other usability/update features. There is also some interest in looking at what changes we can pull in from litecoin to bring the client up to match. Please be aware that we will be avoiding any changes that would necessitate a fork. So no max coin, subsidy, or diff calc changes at this time. Preserving backwards compatibility is of the utmost importance.

If you would like to contribute, the following two possibilities exist:

1. Please submit enhancement requests to https://github.com/casinocoin/casinocoin/issues

2. For financial donations, please consider contributing BTC to this address that I have setup: 1NGvxkdQra41xcy7JWnucnLg7nV169p8js

Thank you

BTW, anyone skilled at making animated explainer videos? Casinocoin would like to place one on the website.
We do in fact need a video! Something that would answer a few main points about casinocoin for example something like the "what is bitcoin video" made be weusecoins.

Have You guys already found an video maker? In this forum there's one guy that's been making different videos for coins: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=669400.0

Thank you

Do you have a Casino coin address I could donate to?
May be we could also pay developers in Casinocoins in the future.

Looks like that wallet downtime totally killed the momentum.  Hopefully we'll get it back.
