I'm getting a lot of some weird errors, though 280x is doing 3.2Mh/s... downloaded binary from page 13...

What are these "No such host is known" ?

What settings for 5870?
With this settings: -k x11mod -I 15 --gpu-fan 55 --temp-cutoff 95 --gpu-engine 920 --gpu-memclock 1250 --worksize 256 -g 2
I get only 1.3 Mh/s

Pretty sure it's not optimized for the 58XX or 59XX series.

I was able to get 1.5MH vs the .977MH per core on my 5970s.  Windows, 13.12 drivers.

I don't have a 280X... but I would say: drop worksize to 128, and gpu-memclock to 1500. I get HW errs on my 270's with really high clocks and have to reboot. If nothing else at least try dropping worksize to 128. Also I see you have shaders "0", I would either remove that or set it to the correct number of shaders

I think he is talking about the notion some people have that TC is "suppose" to be a multiple of 64, 128 or 256, something like that...

I previously posted these settings (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623409.msg6951903#msg6951903) on my 270 x & non-x... getting 2.2MH/s each. From tweaking settings 128 gives better hash than 256... Although my w/u is only 0.03, YMMV. Also make sure to use the updated miner for intensities over 15 from page 13

Drop your frequency a bit, maybe 10MHz. The GPUs are stressed more than the old sgminer.
