In response to the attack that was carried out today on navajocoin.

While I am still reviewing the limited amount of information, based on my review of both the code and the available data, the attack was successful partly due to the 30 second block time.

XC use's a 90 second block time.

I am reviewing the additional variables & Proof of Stake code involved in this attacked for any potential issues

2nd

The current REV2 test-release will be updated, additional data collected and then the final rev2 will be released

Dan

this is huuuuge, thanx Dan! Securing the coin and providing update on things in 1 post!

I stand corrected. More updates to come on REV2 indeed.

Don't mess with leigh2k14 aka Mr Floppy! He will eat you up!

Time to panic buy now that Rev 2 Final is coming out shortly.

Where did you read this?

Shortly means after this

First of all, atcsecure never used the word "shortly", you did.

I hear ya man, I'm in the same boat. Considering dumping some BTC savings from cold storage...it's too tempting!

I'm just waiting for a transfer to complete and will then scoop up some of those fishes straggling out of their depth. I will then have staked fish for laters.

If it means anything, I think there is a large consensus in our community that feel XC is almost as safe and risk free as BTC investments. But then again, do what you gotta do... In the end we'll all be laughing

Or crying.  Nothing is a guarantee, but out of all the alt-coins I have purchased I never had nearly as much confidence as I do with XC.  Well, at one point I was really confident in Namecoin, so I'm not sure what that means.   I only hold 3 significant positions right now including Bitcoin.

Is that your buy wall at 155?  I've been trying to sneak my little buys just above that.  Picked up almost 400 myself in the last day or so.

I know, recently I have felt that XC is as safe as BTC, just... you never know for sure. its all a big gamble either way really.

I Will be happy when this PoS issue is sorted.  I was talking to a fella last week about CLOAK who said their dev had found an issue with PoS and they have fixed it. (or were in the process of)

If theres an issue Im confident Dan can fix it.

And I was really confident in VTC, and look how that's gone over the last 2 months.  Couldn't take it anymore and sold out my entire stash (in the 0.50-0.70 range, which looks like it was a good move), and used those funds to purchase XC actually!

Just my 2 cents: hold your XC coins if you don't mind owning toys like Rolls-Royce Phantom. The adequate price is at least 0.2 btc, however we should be patient, Dan does not have 100 pairs of hands. The price fluctuations don't mean anything in short terms, the project needs to mature, like any other serious software project.
