Since the MP problem I have moved most of my bags to TREX, but seriously, with a volume of 3 BTC/24h, my XCs will still be in MP (x10 times volume).
Eth.
If you are a long-term holder, why are you concerned with the exchanges? Remove your coins to your local wallet and stake supporting the network. Not only will this benefit the network integrity but less coins on the exchange means less available supply. First of all, I didn't say that I was a long term holder, even tho I certainly hold my XC bags since long ago, that doesn't make me a long term holder. If tomorrow I am in need, or I do consider that the best for me is to sell, then I would just do it. Now the team and the evolution of the coin have made me curious and kind of a believer, for now that is the reason I hold. It doesn't mean I cannot sell high and re-buy more quantity at a lower price. Second, you ignore if I am in fact staking or not, I just mentioned I have some bags in MP, that's all. Third, I am not concerned about exchanges, just exchanging opinions with other forum member since the topic was brought in. As last point, the fact of having coins in an exchange doesn't make them available. Anyway, I find quite presumptuous from you and others to try to tell people what to do with their money/shares. But again, this is the cryptoworld... Eth. Bags imply long-term holds so it was a safe assumption on my part. Granted, your point that this is cryptoworld sounds about right, considering people time and time again on here misuse the term short. And yes, leaving coins on an exchange very much makes them "available". Tell that to all the VRC holders that thought keeping their coins on the exchanges was fine. Granted, everything worked out with the rollback but still--a large exchange is far more likely a hackers target than your home computer, especially if you are running even a basic form of security (antivirus, firewall, encrypted wallet).

Can anyone tell me why won't it be possible to have Xnodes bigger than 550 XC ? Why can't we have Xnodes from 550XC to 5500XC or what ever. I have a bunch of XC and would like to use them as XNodes in the futures but having multiples VM's w/o proxies and what not is cumbersome

There is no minimum on Xnodes anymore. Every wallet is a Xnode at the moment and the future amount is, to my knowledge, still up for discussion. This also means there is no maximum World First. 100% Encrypted Messaging; 100% Encrypted Transactions. With this 2.0 platform; phone calls, email, social networking; all candidates for XC's next world first. Will you be aboard? XC ; Architecture of Tomorrow. Main difference since a week; XC rev. 1 is OPEN SOURCE and giving other start ups the possibility to adopt there great work on a delayed time-line I have not seen Apple do THAT

Anybody else notice that mintpal volume has been significantly down since the hack ?
I dont mean only XC, all other coins too.
This is a major concern.
Everyone has moved to bittrex. I suggest you move your coins there. This will seriously boost XC....No jokes. I'm moving it there right now as we speak. If we want XC to do well we need to move coins to the most prominent exchange. No one in the Altcoin world likes Mintpal anymore. There are many influencial traders in altcoin one of them is IconicExpert...check him out on twitter. Devs pay this guys to post tweets...to move markets. Either way our best chance is to get our funds there. I suggest staying away from IE. That guy is a total Dbag and is not good for the longevity of the coin. Second that! He totally f***ed liberty coin in their FUD wars. I would seriously stay away. IconicExpert / Christopher Bouzy = Scammer and Thief

Edit: oh and it's true P2P. It's a direct connection between nodes and is end-to-end encrypted. There's no need for forwarding or multipath because no record of the messages is left anywhere for anyone to track.
So you will know the IP address of the person you're chatting with, and he will know yours. This is something everyone must be aware of before they engage in a chat with someone.

Nobody prevents you to use a proxy or the Tor network to erase any of your IP traceability, and with the Xchat there is no trace of your message on the network and it is encrypted during transfer i think its already not bad.

I have some very noob questions
Can I install wallet on a portal external hard drive? Does my wallet become a “cold storage” when I disconnect that hard drive from the computer ?
Or the wallet.dat file is what really matter. That no matter where my wallet is, my data will always be on my main computer under the Users\AppData\Roaming\XCurrency folder?
For back up wallet, Can I just use the tap inside the app to back it up ? or do I have to go to that Users\AppData\Roaming\XCurrency folder to find the wallet.dat to back it up ?
Thanks guys

Best way IMO is just go to your appdata folder and copy your wallet.dat onto a thumb drive. Another step is to lock your wallet, and make sure you copy down your password in multiple locations so you dont forget it. if you forget your PW on a locked wallet, next to impossible to unlock it. You can always copy the .dat BEFORE you lock your wallet. Then when you re-back up it, unlock and repeat backing it up. This way I think that if you DO forget your PW, you can still use your BU and it wont be locked ( I could be wrong on this though but pretty sure that works that way ).

This reminds me I need to buy a usb drive tomorrow to backup my XC on. Shakesbear, you can also back up your private keys and store them somewhere secure if for some reason you lose/forget your password. Theres a guide toward the bottom of the coin control article on the official site: http://www.xc-official.com/wallet/#send-coins-adv

Although it's not as secure, it's pretty good if you secure your email a bit. And your wallet has your password.
