There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

PoSA Update:

Progress is coming along and the Cloak team is right on target.

On launch we want PoSA to work out the box with no glitches.

For that reason we would like to select 10 people from the community to help us in some testnet sessions.

We are updating our testnet daemons for this purpose right now.

The chosen participants will get access on Sunday (at best) or Monday.

A private IRC will be created for the group selected to be our PoSA testers.

We need some heavies because your only job will be to try and hammer it into the ground and break it!

Applicants please send pm and you'll be notified this weekend if you are invited to be a Cloakcoin PoSA tester.

TheDagger -- I understand the whole OpenSSL issue, and why it's necessary.  But, I see it as a pretty awful user experience issue. You're going to have lots of new users in the coming weeks.  When they download your wallet they'll be confused.. even if you put clear instructions. They will invariable still screw it up.  Have you considered releasing two wallets? One with Cloaktrade and one without? Also it needs to be made clear that 64bit users must download the **32bit** C++ 2008 redistributable and OpenSSL. Most people will assume they need 64bit since their OS is 64bit, not realizing or understanding that the wallet software depends on the 32bit libraries.

I agree, this all needs to be made clear as a bell before it goes public. Perhaps offer a "starter" wallet and an "advanced" wallet but whatever you decide on, don't make the newbies do any more than absolutely needed to get onboard...

I think you are correct man. I can just picture this thread in a week or two filled with people nonstop talking about how the wallet doesn't work leading to a fudstorm.

Will address this issue shortly by putting wallet 1.9.4.0 in the op and will add some extra instructions for those that get problems with 1.9.5.2

A good Windows installer will solve this problem as well as make the coin more professional to the general public.

Perfect, yes, that's it! That is missing from 99% of the coins out there and it is exactly those folks we need to bring onboard. Can this be accomplished?

Another item to mention with CloakTrade is that when you copy and paste the API and Secret Key on Bittrex you need to first paste it to a text editor, such as notepad, because it picks up a space at the end that is not visible. The extra space will cause the wallet to crash. Whoever pointed this out in this thread yesterday is awesome.
