So you guys what Minerals to be the main e-sports betting currency? Is that what you thinking? Should we take this path?
I've got a friend who's now working on a betting service that will accept cryptocurrencies. I can convince him to use Minerals only and make it mainly e-sports focused since there's no major e-sports betting service (at least that I know of)

We could embed twitch.tv to watch major tournaments and bet on the outcome of each game. SC is not the only game we could bet on. Twitch.tv got many other popular games that are competitive and popular at the same time
http://www.twitch.tv/directory

If you guys think its they way to go we can do ti no problem!

Im good with this. Price of Min will explode if we follow this path.

You couldn't really get any better than this.

Makes JPC Coin look like monopoly money.

Not so sure if that's a good idea as it moves us far away from that Starcraft branding. I was hoping that it would continue in that direction with online (nerdy) games and so on..

But, I guess it's a lot better than just waiting!

we could start with StarCraft betting only and then move to other e-sports games

I think going the betting route alone is a bad idea.

The focus should be around getting Minerals adopted by eSports community so that they will use the coin to sponsor tournaments, help pro-gamers, spread eSports, etc.

It can also be used for bettings, but shouldn't be the main focus.

Betting won't help an already well distributed coin really, if the prizes are very high it will in fact do the opposite.  Cheesy

I'm not sure about the betting angle, but I could be persuaded with some more details.
Perhaps we could open a book on what the MIN volume will be on C-CEX before some of the larger lads take notice and invite us into their playground.
I'll start the spread on 51 - 53 BTC  Grin

Starcraft betting at start not bad, don't like betting btw my personal opinion, and this could also stake a lot of min in one hand.

After this should be nice focus on twitch ...  if some famous streamer would accept MIN for donadion .........    well that should be some like GREAT.

Point taken here.

Betting doesn't need to be ALL what this coins about.

Although you cant spread too thinly its worth considering all the options.

I still think some form of e-sports betting or prize fund needs to be a part of this coin.

Come on guys lets rub some brain cells together, how do we even out the distribution?

I'm all in for e-sport betting.  We need to focus on something no other coin is doing. An e-sport betting portal through the wallet would be a major first!

Not normal. You sure you unlocked your wallet? Is the arrow at the bottom right green? Is your computer (wallet) online all this time?

remember, staking is random, you may stake after 10 hours, you may stake after 1 week.  All comes down to luck.  The estimated time is just that, an estimate.  Also check in coin control your transaction priority.  Higher priority have a better chance of of staking sooner.

this may explain why after 1 week on faircoin, i didn't stake shit, but this should mean that there will be days with more staking, otherwise the interest % can't be correct...

betting should be a key feature i think; i'd buy min if there would be a "bet" tab in the wallet dedicated to starcraft betting.

I'm using sc2gears so i assume it can work the same; so in bet tab link your starcraft account (login + password) to a min address; then setup bet conditions : bo 1/2/3/5/7; 1v1; 2v2; 3v3; 4v4, FFA / map with names.

then start the bet.

when each parties have send the bet; the output from the next match (on the chosen map) between those nicks = official results; then bet is send to the winner.

So i'm OwnZor on starcraft; i want to challenge mvp because that's fun; i bet 10,000 min to fight him; we both send the bet through our wallet. He wins; so he receive 20,000min.

Pm me if you are going that way plz.

cheers

Any difference in the reward if you so happen to stake for 1 week rather than 1 hour or does it just even out at 5% over the year?

Yes, the higher the stakeweight/coinage, the higher the reward or rate of reward depending on size of your coin transactions.

Id like to hear more about why users think betting will kill the coin.

I love the idea of seeing game feeds in the wallet.

I think its awesome but I want to know peoples concerns. They all jumped up to say 'no'  to betting then went very quiet with no other responses.

when i see someone talking about something "killing the coin" i just don't read it.

a coin without innovation (like min) need to find its market.

i don't know if the devs are competent; but a decentralized betting tab implemented within the client = a way for a chinese pro player to challenge another pro or just earn some money with fan games without his govt interfering.

Go that way and i'll buy half a million.  Smiley
