The user "coffeecoin" is trying to steal accounts. Likely a hacked account as well. Using something like "bilcoin" replacing bitcoin part of bitcointalk as the URL .

I would suggest to stop issuing NEMstakes till this is resolved. Don't want any scammers to get a hold of NEMstakes.

My old account wakasaki808 was hacked during another phase of a scam. Would hate for it to happen to anyone else during this scam wave.

Needs to be a way to verify accounts that have been affected as well.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

What a shame, I purchased NEM with my hard earned money, and some jerk steals from honest people. Just a sad thing.

Are you still in control of the account? If so, go back in and try to change the password. Can you password reset?

If you can, that would be best to regain control of your account.

Someday I think a story like this will mention NEM silver and gold.

I don't think so. Coindesk is Bitcoin only.

patmast3r, please note that from this newbie account the forum system limits me to 5 PMs per hour (hopefully, there's not a post limit too). I'm waiting for the limit to pass to be able to PM you again.

To answer your question, you can see that this transaction (from exchange - please see highlighted area of screenshot):
https://blockchain.info/tx/2dcd93f45bcbf1d6ef4217222528dc62f8d0dd04b9a0c6bd3eed902c9025244e
Connects to this transaction:
https://blockchain.info/tx/43cb750d8abb56928869c6308402423e72ac482790e3d85df1cc6994fe1aa6b1
Through this address:
https://blockchain.info/address/17vQ83GtbWrFnHFE6Lin3JCjhNc9UUuMXb
whose sole purpose was funding the registration fee and sending the required btc to the registration address:
1Lk5Paws9T1YpoSeLeZT7ZeSQKW7UNq4TJ

Feel free to let me know how I can reach you outside of PM (I have a PM limit, but you dont) if you'd like to correspond on this 1-to-1 before the PM limit on my account elapses.

patmast3r, I just saw your PM - thank you so much, especially for your time. If any other info is needed from me, name it. I am still aiming to get theymos confirmation so you can have complete peace of mind on this. And again I do not want any early AE NEM stake and will not be requesting any. I plan to wait for the final release of regular coins and to stay in NEM through the launch.

After having your nicks exchanged the rule is you can't get an asset on the AE anyway Wink

That's fine with me - I think you should apply that universally after what's happened. G*d knows how far this scam got and what the next one will be. Keep 'em safe, and thanks again.

I was away for the weekend, I come back, and there's this sh.t with the scammer.

I must admit, I felt for it, as I've clicked link from inside the email.
(Without looking at details, I thought it'll be ANN from marketing team)

What was bit surprising, is that I was asked for pass although I stay logged in most of the time.

I've managed to quickly change my pass though.

Why does this forum allow sending PMs from users with 0 posts, that's ridiculous.

Not sure if that's gonna help, but here's something we can try http://pastebin.com/cut1Ag3J

I didn't fall for it, in fact i didn't even get a phishing pm but i changed my password anyway out of pure paranoia.

Spamming is not a bad idea actually. I could use the names from the stakeholder list and insert bullshit passwords (not like i know the real ones anyway). I have parts of the code already done for the redemption stuff so I might set this up today and show him who's bad Smiley

I didn't even get a PM but probably only because I am not on the stakeholder list.
