There's been so much hype about Catapult that it had better be earth-shattering...
It's going to be fairly gradual as far as I can tell. The main chain won't get it for a while after it's been activated on Mijin. Don't sell your mother just in case. |

NEM's current problem is that it hardly produces news. Behind the scenes there is hard work being done on Catapult which will drives the prices as soon as it has been released. Until then the price will probably hardly move upwards. In my opinion, it is more important that the team focus on the development of this important milestone and not on short term price increases.XEM -4% in Poloniex.
In the last 2 days there were couple attempts for a rise but they did not last.
Anyway the volume in "drop" is quite thin, like indicating that
a) there is not any big consensus about the direction - maybe some want to drop the course.
b) new buyers are waiting.
Why would anyone sell now, when there has been 2 days quite peaceful period, kind of waiting a new hop to a new peak.
yes that is self-evident... c) some traders are closing their short-positions after they realized that the course is not crashing. Now can be used only "eye-witness" proofs, but that also is counted during the last week in Poloniex the rises have had bigger volumes than the drops. That indicates some expectations... or eager investors |

Marketing gimmick. I appreciate them adding XEM but their withdraw fees are 2%, so I'll continue to deal with Coinbase/GDAX and Gemini. |

i cant seem to get delegated harvesting to work. is there a good tutorial that is recent? i think i've done everything correctly but have not harvested anything in weeks and my balance is pretty significant.

Also, are you using Nano wallet or NCC? There are video tutorials on youtube. Nano. I've watched videos and read what i could. I think i've done everything right. Ive even stopped delegated harvesting and restarted (spend another 6 NEM). Harvesting says ACTIVE and I have quite a lot of XEM that is Vested. I'm not sure what else to do. Maybe you did everything right, just did not wait long enough for the first harvested block to be found and show up in the wallet? I think my first harvested block took some days to show up. i dont think thats it. i've been delegated for months. Same problem here but i turn back to old wallet cause NANO does not work ! |

NEM seems nice to buy more price is little low so that I say this without any doubt it's good time buy more. This coin is very promising with huge community support soon it will be over $1 in long term.

With its current price today, it's so tempting to buy more XEM . How are the development here? Catapult? C++ coding?
Its making good progress. Last news we had was transactions were hitting about 1300TPS! C++ could be 2 - 4 times faster than Javascript ( https://attractivechaos.github.io/plb/ ) but maybe in Catapult is other improvements too ? C++ will help to reduce hardware requirements which is always good but the real TPS power comes from NEMs/Catapults architecture. Is any code or architectural specs reviewed by other than the Devs ? |

I have a greater appreciation for this coin after going through the entire list of coins on coinmarketcap except for the low volume ones. Very few coins focus on scalability, most are pawning services or rehashing old algos.. the number of coins I'm interest investing in is under 10. 2 of them I already own... xtrabytes and Pascal coin. There's some other coins based on the NXT platform I will likely purchase in the next day or two.
I mean really, nobody is going to use these gambling platforms.. and if the companies do, they'll simply make their own versions which won't help out the investors in these coins, which is why I repeat my notion that cryptos should not totally open up their source code but rather license it out.
There are a couple of coins that improve upon NEM's tech in one way... they focus on trimming the blockchain and segmented chains.. pascal coin is one that deals with blockchain trimming. These coins have potential as investments. Pascal mentions that in theory, they should be able to keep the network running by having a chain not much larger than about 6GB, which I believe will ultimately be something that the next big coin will adopt, since we can't have ever increasing blockchain sizes like bitcoin has when someone has developed a way to deal with it.
