Well.... The official "beta" was suppose to be released in September and then 3 weeks after the distribution. I would also like to know when it will happen.
no need to rush. just look at NODEcoin to see what happens when you push a release date or, please rush so I can pick up cheap NEM when dumpers dump upon a premature release Even if we released right this second it wouldn't be as premature as NODE  I have no doubt yet ANOTHER delay is hurting us, seems like NEM was all the hype but people have moved on. Hopefully once the longest IPO ever is at an end the hype will return. I have not noticed that. I'm feeling quite opposite, seems like NEM had gathered more followers and some guys have even ended up to develop alternative wallet! Launch is almost there and be ready to fasten your seatbelt, guys!  |

But two assets is not allowed with the same name? It is allowed, otherwise the "best" names could be blocked. User/buyer has to check the asset ID. How many people will ever check the ID? Even a simple scam on the BTT lately can scam the computer savvy guy. Unless NXT is only designed for that few people, it is ok. But for main stream? I don't know what to say.  There is no best solution as both ways (without centralization) have pros and cons. no unique asset names was the lessor of two evils. it would have been worse if they were unique as every sinlge dictionary word, 2,3,4,5 letter abbreviations and anything that could potentially have be profitable to grab would have been snapped up and then squatted on.. we would have random alpha numeric codes to look at instead of actual names. i would have done the same. Not for 1000 NXT each. There are other solutions, too, and we have one for the NEM AE. |

I've got stats and evidence that NEM is doing really well in its development. In fact if I have my way, I'd rather they complete the AE too before release! ;-) Honestly, I don't understand what you are trying to get at. You wish to delay its roll out indefinitely and yet you are complaining that the delay is hurting us. What is your problem actually? |

This also means that the stakeholderlist needs to be final by prob friday. Any isssues that have not been resolved will result in lost stake. I can finally get my NEM very soon and hope it would be a good price at that time. As we all know that the current Crypto market is not really strong. |

that a truer statement than many realise.. in the 2.0 realm most are not doing well bar nxt but they have their own issues. if we come out swinging with amazing tech and with a brilliant rep, there wont be much fud that can be spread. there will be many many people who move from alternate 2.0 platforms to nem seeing as it will be so far ahead of most of the rest in many areas and ahead of all of the rest in some areas. that means more developers also. like we saw with the new light weight client that was recently announced, we just dont know who is working on what behind the scenes. sooner rather than later projects are going to be popping up out of nowhere helping nem to gain an even stronger foothold in the 2.0 arena. if current pace of development continues we are going to see enormous growth in tech development, value and community involvement.
being delayed because of bugs like so many other projects is not as issue we have. nem is being delayed because of tech improvements and addition of important features - most of these being security features which is a brilliant route to take. this will only make us stronger in the long run. so i have no issue with delays because they are delays that will benefit us apposed to harm us.
because of these delays we will be able to keep our coins in cold storage and harvest safely with peace of mind. we will be able to create paper wallets. we will have a light weight client. those who have slow internet or slow computers will be able to use the remote NIS connection making NEM more accessible to people all over the world and opening the doors for easier development of mobile apps. we will have a more secure and more efficient protocol with a much smoother one-clink install client and we have more time to prepare for launch. the nem team are making great progress behind the scenes and it will all come to light and when it does people will see that it was all worth the wait.
I am really excited too and agree with most of the above comments, but I take issue with one point. There will always be FUD! hahaha |
